My wife, in anticipation of my landscape photographic needs, booked a package with Glacier View Lodge, which included a Welcome Reception, dinner reservations at Altitude Restaurant, the breakfast buffet, and most importantly, the tour package. We reached the Lodge and were happily greeted by Duncan. He was incredibly polite and he had an “I care” vibe. He even gave us a “pro-tip” and suggested we us the elevator to get to the hotel (hotel lobby is on the third floor) rather than try and use the escalator. It was a worthy tip because the main building is a multi use building and the first and second floors see a fair amount of foot traffic. We checked in with Alice and she happily took care of us. We casually mentioned to her about our recent marriage. After unpacking, we joined the rest of the tour in the hotel lobby where we were treated to a gorgeous view. The Welcome Reception was fun and relaxing. Along with two generous charcuterie boards, Kelsey poured us a glass of organic Canadian sparkling wine with some locally sourced berry dust. Again, another amazing staff member from Glacier View Lodge took care of us. Kelsey, just like Duncan, made our Welcome Reception hour comfortable. He was attentive, professional, and warm. As we were in the lobby/lounge area, getting to know other guest from the hotel, Kelsey made it a point to come around and ask if we needed anything else. As part of the hotel stay, the Lodge turned down our linens. Wifey picked out a lovely scent during check-in and we enjoyed the subtle notes of lemon grass as we returned from the tour. And to our surprise, we found a hand written congrats card in our room. Alice, Duncan, and Kelsey were involved in sharing happy wishes with us. Summary: Our room was modern, clean, and had plenty of free amenities. The bed was comfortable and I thought the pillows were some of the best I’ve slept on. Eating options were limited to the hotel though. And the staff was amazing. Read less

The hotel is directly opposite the glacier and we opted for a glacier view room. It was spectacular. The hotel has only recently been renovated and is certainly in very good condition. The rooms are light and spacious, there are two queen beds and an excellent bathroom. We were surprised that the central heating appears to be controlled centrally and so it was not possible to turn the heat up. We stayed on the one night glacier package which is, I think, a new package introduced with the renovation and is designed to give guests an unforgettable experience. It includes dinner and breakfast in the Altitude Restaurant and private tours on the glacier (in the evening) and the Skywalk (the first tour of the morning). It is an expensive package but we felt the exclusive tours were worth the extra. It was a great experience. There is a speciall free car parking area for hotel guests. Read less

Unfortunately, our private glacier tour was canceled twice and we ended up joining the larger, public tours in the morning. The whole point of staying at this lodge was so we could enjoy a private tour of the glacier. While we understand that the weather and ice condition is out of the hotel’s control, it would’ve been nice for management to offer some sort of discount for future stay to account for the fact that the private tour wasn’t offered. This lodge is located between Lake Louis and Jasper. It's a good choice when you'd like to join the icefield tour and drive from one village to another. Our room is well decored and with enough space for 3 adults. Their staff are quite friendly and useful. We enjoyed our one night stay and breakfast there.
