Emerald Lake Lodge

Lake Louise, Alberta

The hotel

Ensconced in stunning natural surroundings, Emerald Lake Lodge is set in the heart of Yoho National Park, overlooking the jade-coloured waters of Emerald Lake. In traditional lodge style, the cosy guestrooms here each have a wood-burning fireplace and balcony and are set within 24 buildings, scattered amongst the 38-acres of grounds and gardens. There’s no shortage of history within these timber walls either; you’ll discover centuries-old fireplaces and a lounge with an oak bar salvaged from an 1892 Yukon saloon. The magnificent dining room serves exceptional Rocky Mountain cuisine and the Main Lodge features reading and sitting rooms for quiet contemplation. Due to the lodge's remote setting, there's no mobile reception, but if you wish check on life back home there’s a games room with TV and internet access. During your stay here, take a canoe out on the lake, relax in the outdoor hot tub, explore the numerous hiking trails or simply enjoy the fine hospitality as you take in spectacular alpine vistas and the clear mountain air.

Then you can decide based on expectations. -there is no in room TV or internet, internet at Lodge is average at best -hot tub is very nice- awesome view -room is outdated, and beds were stiff and could be replaced ( rm 293) -didn't use fireplace as it was warm while there, no AC, but do provide a fan -food onsite is very "high scale", we ended up traveling to dinner each day as wife is picky eater -EVERYONE we ran into was excellent, and expect very high end service here !!!! -the paths are very hilly, ask for help with your luggage...trust me on this one! Beautiful location, excellent service make this a recommended location.....just know you get what you get.....don't expect a normal hotel experience... Read less

A wonderful lodge with very friendly, professional staff to assist you to enjoy your stay in this beautiful place. The accommodation is individual cabin style lodges and they are comfortable with everything you need. The dining options are varied giving you plenty of choice for their fresh innovative menu. Lovely walks around the lake and away from the crowds of Lake Louise. We really enjoyed something different at awesome Emerald Lake. Read less

Stayed one night as a getaway from Banff. Culinary staff were great. Hot tub was nice. Location is amazing. Unfortunately the exterior of the buildings are showing age and lack of maintenance. Decks and sidings with peeling paint. Room interiors are dated and worn in places. CRMR are clearly proud of their culinary reputation and we have had some… Read more

Decks and sidings with peeling paint. Room interiors are dated and worn in places. CRMR are clearly proud of their culinary reputation and we have had some good meals at their various properties. Great meats and wines to enjoy but their food style and presentation haven’t moved with the times. It seems like the energy, passion and investment that created the CRMR brand has ebbed away.
