I was here for just one night in mid-March but thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location is beautiful - nestled into a mountain side and affords fantastic vistas of the Canadian Rockies. The property is a bit outside of town BUT they provide complimentary bus tickets to get around which is a life saver. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Only knock was that I had to pay $15/night to upgrade my room from a double to a King but it was certainly worth it. The room was spacious and well appointed. Those who read my reviews know I’m a stickler for amenities in luxury hotels and the Rimrock did not disappoint - in particular, the soap had a unique and fresh fragrance. The lobby is warm & inviting and is a natural place to congregate before or after skiing, dinner or any activity for which you’d find yourself in Banff. All the staff is extra friendly and accommodating. My colleagues talk about Banff Springs as being a nicer property but I can tell you that I’d certainly be happy to return to the Rimrock the next time I’m in Banff! Read less

Huge, rather old fashioned American style conference hotel in a spectacular location on the side of a mountain. Our room was very gloomy with gen1 eco bulbs and heavy, dark 1970s style woodwork. We stayed at this location our entire Christmas holiday which was an excellent choice. The staff were amazing and the rooms were comfortable. We chose to have a mountain view room which was exactly as it is described as. The price was very reasonable for the Christmas holidays. This hotel is in walking distance to the hot pools and gondala which was very handy. The local bus came regularly to take you for a 5-10 min ride into town which was free otherwise the staff made regular complimentary runs into town if booked. The location of the hotel just made it feel that much more special as you felt remote without being too far from the town and the hotel was not too large so interactions with the staff felt very personable. Santa made a visit on Christmas morning and it was very festive on Christmas Day especially. With a special festive cupcake delivered to our room on Christmas Eve. The days leading into Christmas there was a skating rink prepared in the court yard area which was an added bonus. We had breakfast at their restaurant every morning as the food was amazing. They had a high quality buffet every second night over Christmas which we had on numerous occasions at reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again and am missing the buffet dinners. The Rimrock is a gem -- a beautiful setting, lovely and clean hotel, fantastic staff, and a phenomenal breakfast. We truly felt like we were on vacation. Given the quality of the property and the service, we felt the rates were reasonable and an extremely good value. We would return to Banff just to stay at the Rimrock again.

This was a very nice resort. We went during our first ever Canada trip from a Thursday to Monday and the rooms were an avg of $275 per night. Great location as well. Literally next door to the hot springs (walking distance) and a quick shuttle ride to the town for dinner. We actually found ourselves staying in a few nights since it was so cold and convenient to stay at the restaurant that was in the hotel. Plus they had a nice lobby area for night caps and enjoying a rest from a long day of activities. They even had a lady playing the piano. She was great. The concierge was excellent as well. They helped facilitate the return of some snow shoes we left in our room. Highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Banff. Can't wait to go back!!! Read less
