The hotel

Taking inspiration from its Chinatown-hugging location, this hotel may be mid-Montréal, but it’s got touches of the Orient about it. It’s certainly apparent when you’re dining on dim sum at Chez Chine, where the hotel’s Asian-meets-Continental menu is served up in a setting complete with Koi fish pond, bridges, and pagoda — they’re also the backdrop for the hotel’s Lotus Bleu lounge bar. A block from Old Montréal, Holiday Inn Montréal Centreville is comfortably close to many of the city’s most-talked about attractions and dining venues, and is just over the road from Palais des Congres-Convention Centre. Once you’re back from exploring, you have your pick of relaxing activities, with a heated indoor pool and whirlpool, a complimentary fitness centre, free WiFi access and the Lucky Water Spa all vying for your free time.

This hotel is just steps away from Old Montreal, accross the street from the Metro and backs onto Chinatown. The rooms are nice and very clean. Very cool lobby. The front desk staff was outstanding. We've stayed here before and will stay here again.

I’ve been to Montreal way too many times but only stayed here once. I chose this hotel simply due to its location; it is central to where we want to go. Right at Chinatown and 10 minutes walk from the Jacque-Cartier square and the old port. The hotel is clean but it certainly can benefit from some updates. There was a leak in the shower wall that flooded the bathroom floor every time we take a shower. The “mall” where the hotel is situated is a bit run down and outdated. Escalators never work! (I’ve been to the mall several times within the past 5 years!) The staff is polite and courteous so I give this hotel an overall 3 stars. Not sure if I would recommend the hotel. Read less

It was irritating because we had traveled quite a distance and we were exhausted. The clerk then told us that we would be on the 7th but that we had to wait a bit to then tell us we would be on the 6th (not that it mattered). The front desk clerk was very rude. After waiting half an hour for our rooms to be ready. We made it to our rooms to only find out that in one of them it was barely cleaned. At that point I had no energy to go back down. Luckily we only stayed one night. Will not be staying at that hotel again. Read less

Stayed 4 days while attending a professional conference at Palais de congress in the month of October. Nestled right in the middle of China town, the hotel is satisfactory for a few days stay. Perhaps the reason why I could not appreciate the pleasures of hotel stay was because of the room allotted to me during check in. It was one of those inside rooms which did not allow even a shred of daylight to enter the room. Lights had to be kept on throughout the day and I am allergic to such rooms as I feel claustrophobic. The large glass window looked in to the breakfast space - which by the way was satisfactory without being sumptuous. The location is just superb as you have the metro station within a few yards of it and it is surrounded by some excellent eateries - specially if you like oriental food. You can buy some nice textiles at reasonable price from the Chinese outlets surrounding the hotel. Read less

My family and I stayed here for one night after we attended the ballet which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel's parking garage is heated, which is nice, but will cost you $28 per night to park. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The front desk staff was very friendly. In fact, we arrived in Montreal hours early so I asked the front desk if we could get an early check-in. We were accommodated with no issues, which was convenient and so appreciated. The only complaint I had was with the indoor pool area. My kids wanted to go for a swim around 6:00pm that evening. By that time, all of the pool towels were gone and hadn't been replaced with fresh ones. Also, it would be nice if there were a few extra chairs around the pool. It seemed that a few of the people in the pool were saving the chairs for themselves so that people like me (a parent watching their kids from the side of the pool) had nowhere to sit. Not the hotel's fault by any means, but it would be nice to have more seating options. Overall, a nice hotel and close to the mall and the Place Des Arts. Would recommend! Read less
