When we arrived at Montreal Central Station (Gare Centrale de Montréal) from Quebec City by VIA Rail Canada, we took a taxi for short ride to Le Westin Montreal. The hotel had modern facilities with spacious lobby. After the routine check-in process, we went into our room. The clean modern room had all the amenities expected from high class hotels, including a mini-refrigerator, safe, iron & ironing board free Wifi. The bed was comfortable, and the window view of St. Lawrence River over the rooftops of the nearby buildings was agreeable. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous. As for the staff members’ services, they were efficient but lacked human touch. To look around the hotel’s neighborhood, we walked out of the hotel, and turned to the right. Within 2 minutes of walk, we saw, across the street, the entrance to the infamous Montreal’s Underground City with numerous shops and a metro station. We passed the Underground City entrance, and continued to walk along the street (Saint Antoine Street W) to the major intersection with “St. Urbain Street” to the left (leading to China Town) and “Cote del la Place d’Armes” to the right (leading to Notre Dame Basilica and Old Montreal). By the way, the street outside the hotel, Saint Antoine Street W) was not a street for pleasant strolling. It was rather the kind of street to walk along fast to reach our destination, because there were no shops, eateries, or attractions along the street. Read less

We stayed two nights in a Premium King room. Lots of space and a nice view of the old port. The hotel (and city) was quiet due to COVID, perhaps this meant a little more time with staff. They were truly excellent. Everyone we came in contact was extremely kind, attentive and offered top notch customer service. If this is the standard across the… Read more

If this is the standard across the Westin suite of properties, it will be our go-to for hotel stays. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Very well situated...but that is it

Aug 10, 2020 Q384TZracheld Quebec City, Canada

Well situated but very runned down. It is part of huge business complexe so it is a very busy place. The hotel rooms need to be renovated, the curtains and bedding were old and stained, the room was very dusty and had a smell. For the price you can find newer hotels as well situated for the same price of less. The room service food was ok.

A true 4 star (probably would rate it as 4.5 stars) - didn’t disappoint - clean and updated. Pleasant reception service. Close to a great sushi restaurant Kyo. Starbucks coffee and even bath robe in the room.

This hotel did an outstanding job for our one night layover in Montreal. The room was comfortable and totally silent. It was also not drafty or stuffy, perfect climate control. As Platinum members, we got a coupon for drinks in the bar and full buffet breakfast included. Both of these were much better than the option of an "elite lounge", with… Read more
This hotel did an outstanding job for our one night layover in Montreal. The room was comfortable and totally silent. It was also not drafty or stuffy, perfect climate control. As Platinum members, we got a coupon for drinks in the bar and full buffet breakfast included. Both of these were much better than the option of an "elite lounge", with better food and drink than one would get in those lounges. Hotel is also connected to underground passageway network. You can walk all the way to the central city commercial district without venturing onto cold and slippery sidewalks. Read less
