Stayed for five days while my wife attended a conference. The staff are friendly and efficient. The interior and rooms are nice, but not particularly impressive/fancy. I found the elevator to be annoying because they require a card key to operate it going up, but I guess it’s a security feature of a sort. The hotel is directly across the street from the Montreal convention center, and you can go back and forth underground without having to go outside. The hotel location is also very convenient for exploring the old port area, the Notre Dame Basilica, etc. Read less

There is a desk for the business traveler with integrated electricity plugs. this is very handy to plug in your computer and/or charge your mobile devices. There is a minibar which is empty. Coming from Europe this is a bit weird. You can buy stuff at the reception. I understand why they are doing this but I still would prefer to have some minimal survival kit. For breakfast, you can choose from the menu or take the buffet. The latter offers a big choice of salt, sweet and healthy stuff. The hotel has a connection to the underground (Réseau Sousterrain) wystem which allows you to do most of your walking without being exposed to the weather elements. I missed a bit a cozy bar. There is the possibility to have a drink in the breakfast/restaurant area which doubles as a bar but it doesn't invite to have a chat with colleagues or friends there over a beer. The location is opposite the convention center which makes it the perfect location when you are visiting or participating in a convention. Read less

I was surprised to read the negative recent reviews. I stayed for 2 nights in November 2019 and could not have been happier. This is a modern downtown hotel of high quality. All the people I interacted with were friendly and efficient. My room was great and had everything I needed. The wifi worked perfectly and I was able to work as if at home. Furthermore there is a direct entry to the underground city from the hotel so you do not need to step outside to go to the shops or restaurants. My only comment for improvement is the reception desk for breakfast which is not efficient - there was only one person who welcomes you and takes you to a table; this is fine if the number of guests is small but they continue this system when there is a long line of people waiting to enter the restaurant. The breakfast itself however was really great. Read less

I reserved a King Size bedroom for two nights. When I got to the hotel there was no valet attendant at the entrance. I waited at least ten minutes before I got out of my car. I went inside did my check in and then the valet attendant came. I got my room keys and headed up to my room located in the St. Jacques Tower. As I turned the corner to go up to my floor with the escalator wasn’t working. I had to go through the lobby next to the bar area go to the third floor with my entire luggage into the main elevator. I got to the third floor and then had to walk the long corridor go right and then left and there is another set of elevators to go up to the St. Jacques Tower; it was a good walk. I get to the 7th floor where my room is (738); nice room with a spectacular entrance. I walk around the corner to the bedroom and my room had two queen beds. I was so disappointed that I called the reception. They were ready to change my room and place me in the other tower all the way on the other side. I decided to stay in the room with two queen beds and I mentioned to the check-in attendant next time please confirm the room when guests check in; I paid for King bed and they gave me a two queens it is frustrating. The hotel is located across the street from the Palais de Congres where we had our exhibition show. The first night it was a good night sleep however the second wasn’t so good as the drilling and construction started at 6:30 am. I was planning to sleep in on Friday morning but the drilling was very loud and annoying. I called reception and they were very apologetic. They let me do a late checkout (3pm) so I can rest a bit before my departure. This hotel is a good hotel if you stay in the old port; walking distance to many good restaurants. The beds were really comfortable and the amenities were good. There is a great coffee shop right next to the St. Jacques Tower that had good food options for breakfast or lunch. Read less

The receptionist was rude because I requested a fiolo in English. He stated that is was a law to have everything written in French. I then called corporate office, they in turn said they will have another person follow up with my request. Well, it's been over a week and nothing but a run around. I can not understand why it would take over a week… Read more
