Novotel Montreal Center

Montreal, Canada

The hotel

Bright and cheerful, Novotel Montreal Centre greets you with a lobby of vibrant reds and soothing putties — and it’s got a lot to be cheerful about. Take its location for starters. Nestled among the downtown district’s biggest draws, it’s an easy stroll from the underground shopping of Rue Sainte-Catherine, the hockey games and live events of Bell Centre, and the dining and drinking venues of Crescent Street. Then there are the hotel ‘musts’ it delivers, including 24-hour fitness, fresh modern guestrooms, and a well-considered room service menu. And, of course, there’s L’Ô, whose kitchen whips up international and local eats. You can start your day there too, tucking into anything from croissants to their ‘Quebecker Breakfast’, which pairs sausages, bacon, and potatoes, with traditional Quebec cretons and scrumptious French toast — you can even order a mimosa if you’re feeling indulgent.

Very conveniently located with easy access to restaurants and nightspots. I highly recommend the hotel for anyone looking to go to Montreal. There is also paid parking at the hotel, easily accessible.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size for a family of four. The wi-fi was free and fast. The location of the hotel is good for exploring the city. It's two minutes away from Rue Ste.-Catherine, Montreal's main shopping street and Mount Royal Park is within walkable distance. It is possible to walk to… Read more
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size for a family of four. The wi-fi was free and fast. The location of the hotel is good for exploring the city. It's two minutes away from Rue Ste.-Catherine, Montreal's main shopping street and Mount Royal Park is within walkable distance. It is possible to walk to the old city and the old port but that's more like a 30 minute walk. There are a couple of subway stations within 10 minutes walk of the hotel and Montreal's subway system is really efficient and easy to use, Breakfast was ok, the fresh pancakes were the highlight. The bacon and sausages on the other hand were pretty underwhelming. The staff at reception were helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Novotel, nice room and good location. Read less

Just a walk away (or couple of Metro stops away) from most Montreal activities ... Rooms are perfect and the service is as expected from such hotel. This is definitely the right place to start your Montreal trip and enjoy the discovery of Montreal city center !

For a weekend trip in August, my BF and I decided to go to Montreal. We had looked at various accomodations but it seems that anything affordable was an Airbnb the size of a closet. That's when we decided to check Chase Ultimate Rewards and ended up using our points for a hotel. It wasn't until I checked in (on Yelp) that I realized it was the same Novotel I had stayed at five years earlier with my friends. I had given it four stars back then, and I'm happy to report it is still a four-star experience. Here are some of the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Location - 2 minute walk from St. Catherine St, where all of the bars, restaurants, and shopping are 2. You can exchange money at the front desk 3. Lots of shelving in the bathroom, so plenty of room for your toiletries 4. Excellent lighting in the bathroom for applying makeup 5. You need a keycard for the elevators after 6 pm, so it’s nice to have a little bit of a sense of security 6. The wi-fi situation has approved. You can now also register up to 6 devices per room 6. Blankets are super comfy 7. Bathroom is pretty spacious Cons 1. There’s no mini fridge in the room but there is a minibar (you need to pay for this). However, you can call the front desk and have them empty it out so that you can use the minibar 2. While it’s close to St. Catherine, it’s far from other tourist spots. Everything else is a 20-30 minute walk 3. Parking is 30 CAD/night with no in/out privileges. We found a parking deck 3 blocks away where you can buy a 60 CAD 3-day package with in/out privileges. It’s called Autoparc Stanley 4. No hair conditioner - just shampoo, shower gel, and bar soap I don’t know if I’d come back to Montreal anytime soon, but I guess it looks like I have a go-to hotel!
