The hotel

A Montréal mainstay, the Ritz-Carlton has delivered the life of luxury to well-heeled travellers for more than a century. It’s iconic historic status is rightly celebrated and as Quebec’s only AAA Five Diamond Hotel, the refurbished sumptuous styling and decadent features make it ‘the’ place to stay. Discover spaces that are a delicious throwback to its 1912 beginnings, like Palm Court, with its frond-framed ceiling, velvety gold and moss fabrics, legendary High Teas, and decadent Dom Pérignon bar. While some spaces couldn’t be more modern, like the rooftop pool and the high-tech guestrooms, complete with motion sensor lighting, intuitive climate, remote controlled toilet, and complimentary WiFi. And some spaces blend past and present, from upscale Maison Boulud, presided over by 3 Michelin star Chef Daniel Boulud, to luxurious Spa St James.

We spent one night at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal to celebrate my sister's birthday. This hotel is the definition of luxury!! Perfect location, luxurious accommodations, and superb service even before you get there. When I made my reservation Mathilde (the guest relations manager) emailed me to ask the name of everyone in our party and the reason for our trip. When we arrived we were greeted by our first names by everyone at the hotel. After a quick check-in, Andre took us to our room. A handwritten welcome note was waiting for us in the room along with balloons and a delicious birthday cake with my sister's name on it. Andre showed us all the features of our room and explained where to find everything in our room and in the hotel. Our visit was short but very memorable thanks to every staff member that works at this hotel. We will definitely stay at this hotel again next time we're in Montreal. Read less

We stayed here for just a night before we had a ski vacation with the family. Everything was perfect. The room was a great size for the four of us(2 adults 2 kids). The ballroom is historic, beautiful and perfect for a dream wedding in Montreal. Excellent mood lighting. The head matrad is a conductor, making sure each guest receives attention swiftly. The food was good but the services and atmosphere was even better, you will be treated like a queen at the Ritz in Montreal.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, hands down. I would say that I can pretty picky (I hate listening to neighbors), and there was nothing I could find wrong with this hotel. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, hands down. I would say that I can pretty picky (I hate listening to neighbors), and there was nothing I could find wrong with this hotel. Viktor (I hope I spelled his name right) at the front desk is LOVELY. He was so nice and friendly, he immediately put us at ease after a seemingly long, cold walk from the train station with our bags. He let us check in early and even cracked a few jokes, which honestly can go a long way at hotels like this. Our room was SO nice. Immediately after arriving at the room, someone stopped by with a welcome letter (handwritten) and a plate of macarons. The bathroom was SO cool... with a pretty fancy toilet which I know can be weird for people, but it was a detail that didn't go unnoticed. The bath products were awesome, and at night they actually have a legit turndown service which included more chocolate. The room was SO quiet. For me, this is such a huge deal. The door was super thick so we didn't hear hall traffic (which seems to be an issue at every hotel, no matter the price). The lobby was so cool, and this Ritz is historic, one of the first. I will definitely be back and include afternoon tea in my itinerary! Read less
