The hotel

A Montréal mainstay, the Ritz-Carlton has delivered the life of luxury to well-heeled travellers for more than a century. It’s iconic historic status is rightly celebrated and as Quebec’s only AAA Five Diamond Hotel, the refurbished sumptuous styling and decadent features make it ‘the’ place to stay. Discover spaces that are a delicious throwback to its 1912 beginnings, like Palm Court, with its frond-framed ceiling, velvety gold and moss fabrics, legendary High Teas, and decadent Dom Pérignon bar. While some spaces couldn’t be more modern, like the rooftop pool and the high-tech guestrooms, complete with motion sensor lighting, intuitive climate, remote controlled toilet, and complimentary WiFi. And some spaces blend past and present, from upscale Maison Boulud, presided over by 3 Michelin star Chef Daniel Boulud, to luxurious Spa St James.

What a nice property. Rooms have been recently renovated. The Japanese toilet was great!! Too bad we don’t have one at home. It was worth the splurge!! Restaurant was good but we did expect it to be better than it was.

From the moment Alex greeted us upon arrive to the final check out, we experienced the utmost hospitality. My husband and I were blown away by the experience. In particular, we would like to thank Christina, Ann Marie, Kelly, Alex and Jackson. Cristina and Ann Marie were the best Concierge’s we have ever had, and we have been to 35 countries over the last 7 years. Cristina even arranged a personal trainer, Jean Sebastian, for us to come to the hotel’s outstanding fitness facility. Jean Sebastian was truly phenomenal. I recommend making personal training options part of the outreach to guests in general. On that note, Cristina proactively reaches out to us ahead of our stay to see how she could enhance our trip. She researched yoga facilities, arranged for the session with Jean Sebastian and together with Ann Marie, arranged the most exquisite dinner recommendations. To add to the personal touches, the team sent us a chocolate Christmas tree and a 2020 cake from the General Manager. Kelly even sent us a precious rubber duck when I mentioned how much my niece would love the stuffed animal lion that was in our room. Our room was fantastic. From the crown molding, to the corner room views to even the toilet (haha!), the attention to detail was off the charts. The restaurant was also wonderful. We dined there for the New Year’s Eve meal. It was delicious. The restaurant passed out NYE hats and tiaras for everyone in the restaurant and provided a live band. It was wonderful. Read less

This is a memorable property with tons of history, but also updated to modern standards. There did seem to be a bunch of families with young children about, not exactly what i would expect at a ritz but good for those with kids. We tried to use the pool at five on a friday and actually had to leave because the kids playing in the pool were so loud, mentioned it to the attendant and he said there was nothing he could do about it but that he would call us when it was quieter, which he did. Television in our room was broken but was fixed promptly (in minutes). Ate at the restaurant in the lobby, very good. Don't miss the huge museum two blocks down. Read less

This hotel is a yearly splurge for us to celebrate out anniversary (yes, we bring our kids ages 8 & 11). The staff are so helpful, friendly, and make us feel so welcomed and pampered. It is worth every penny just to feel so taken care of without even the slightest hint of inconvenience on the part of the staff. The room is pure luxury and our kids… Read more
