My husband and I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Montreal for a long weekend last month to enjoy Fall temperatures and foliage. For being a 107-year-old property, we found our Junior Suite corner room to be absolutely pristine as in spotless and flawless. We also found the property overall to be clean and quiet. Yes, we were impressed with the expensive Neorest Japanese toilets too. There are 10 floors (31 suites total) but it never felt crowded. On the top level of the hotel, there’s an indoor pool and outside terrace. Afternoon Tea (1pm-5:30pm) is a must and is an ongoing tradition at the Ritz Montreal. We also enjoyed having nightcaps at their famed lobby bar, Palm Court. Through the end of October, Ritz has events in their Palm Court lobby on Mondays/Wednesdays/Thursdays. Probably the only slightly negative thing we experienced on property was a marginal dinner at the overrated Maison Boulud restaurant – very expensive, not tasty and terrible service. We were disappointed, especially with all of the hype! During our stay, there was some scaffolding on the outside of the building where they were restoring the historical façade so we were unable to get a decent photo of the property’s exterior. The hotel’s location is amazing. Stores right next to the Ritz include: Tiffany, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Dior and Escada – and The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is just few blocks away. We feel confident in rating our stay as a Five-Star experience and would recommended to anyone visiting Montreal that they must stay at the Ritz Carlton. Other takeaways about Montreal during our stay: • Notre-Dame Basilica is a must! Go on a Sunday at 11:00 for mass and to hear the choir and organs. • The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts features 41,000 works of art – this can be daunting for some (it is closed on Mondays). • Bring walking shoes/workout shoes – this is a walking city! • Mount Royal Park, which is close to the Ritz, has a festival on Sundays. • The French city spoke more English and people were more friendly than we had anticipated. • Bustling Saint-Catherine Street is main commercial artery – stay away if you don’t like busy city streets! • Convenience stores are not aplenty as would be in a typical cosmopolitan city – liquor stores are even harder to find! • Had a super FUN and delicious dinner at Bonaparte, a 6-course delicious meal for $65 USD…… Read less

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton for one night and we had an amazing time. Everything was perfect! The staff was very professional and friendly. The attention to details is impressive, they definetly checked all the boxes! Thank you again Louis Philippe Talbot for making our stay memorable.

This review is long overdue, which I feel bad about since the team at this property deserves nothing but the highest praise, and I should have delivered it much sooner! My husband had never been to Montreal, so we decided to do a quick two-night stay here en route home from Prince Edward Island to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and his birthday. Mathilde was absolutely incredible and essential in ensuring a highly memorable experience that just blew his mind. She arranged to have two dozen balloons in his favorite colors in the room upon our arrival; he was amazed! And I suspect she had something to with the amazing display we returned to after dinner on our last night -- rose petals strewn artfully on the bed and all over the room, including the bathroom, which was just such a special way to celebrate our first year as husband and wife. Special recognition to Alfredo at the front desk, who worked hard to get our weary selves into a room early after arriving from a 6a flight, and bellman Ryan, who was so helpful and kind. And the property itself is just beautiful. Our room was spotless, and we really appreciated modern features like blinds and lights you can control from bed. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the team for making our special trip so amazing! Read less

Stayed there for 6 nights. Love the breakfast and their friendly helpful staff. I like the huge room and the huge comfortable bed. Nice clean toilet. Walking distance to the metro station and to the old town of Montreal.

Overall excellence in hospitality, service, room, bathroom, room service, staff, everything is great. However there are areas that could be improved such as the quality of turn down service which was staff dependent, only valet parking was available, inconveniences with works on the facade with scaffolding and workers.
