While some spaces couldn’t be more modern, like the rooftop pool and the high-tech guestrooms, complete with motion sensor lighting, intuitive climate, remote controlled toilet, and complimentary WiFi. Amazing rooms with updated amenities and wonderful comfort. Warm, exceptionally caring service. Spacious, particularly the bathrooms- loved the Japanese-style toilets! Definitely worth it Food quality was terrific, and location is easy walking distance to all the must-go places in Montreal.

The Ritz Carlton is a classic hotel in a great location and has a lot of history. This is a nice property and the rooms and bathrooms were large and had nice amenities. The bed is comfortable but the pillows are a bit hard. The champagne bar and the decor were a bit dated. Now the that new Four Season has opened they will definitely have competition for upscale hotels in Montreal. We went to Maison Boulud next door for dinner. It was very expensive and the food was average and the service was poor. Read less

Beautiful, clean property. Perfect location- Tons of restaurants nearby, right across form the Museum, a short walk to Saint Catherine St. for lots of shopping. Easy check-in, room is beautiful, perfect & clean. Bathroom is exceptional, huge shower. Staff is great- housekeeping, General Manager, Front desk staff & Concierge are all friendly, efficient, & very helpful (However- there was one Bellman who seemed to "not like us"..we tried but could never get him to smile or say hello back to us) And we are sure to tip everyone. This is part of how they earn a living. Used room service twice- we were extremely impressed both times with the food, overall, presentation, and accuracy of our orders. The only negatives: (all minor) -The fitness center needs to have a bit more equipment. -The bed was comfortable, but the pillows are a bit hard. - And (I saw another reviewer mention this one)- It's kind of strange that there is not a mirror anywhere outside of the bathroom. But none of these "negatives" are a big deal. The positives far outweigh anything. Frankly- this was one of the nicest, cleanest, most beautiful hotels we have ever visited. I highly recommend it. We had one objectionable issue: During our entire stay there was a scaffolding outside of our windows. Obstructed the view a bit, but no big deal. However, on the morning of our checkout, there were men working on this scaffolding right outside of our windows. For privacy- the bedroom window has a complete "blackout" shade. BUT- The bathroom window does NOT have this blackout shade- and the men can easily see everything my wife and I did (used the toilet, took showers (naked, of course). This was really, really bizarre. It did freak us out a bit. But- there wasn't time to do anything about it. Perhaps we could have requested another room, but we were checking out and had to get to the airport. So- we just "let it fly", while watching they guys on the scaffolding through the bathroom window. This was weird. We didn't say a word to the front desk. It was actually a bit embarrassing. And they were all so nice & helpful. Perhaps this was an oversight, and someone didn't think this through. But- some other guests might not have taken it as well as we did. Some would have been furious. But, again- Overall: This hotel is fantastic. Well worthy of it's 5 stars. I highly recommend. Read less
