Spent 2 nights here recently for a friends wedding. Nice location right down town so close to everything. It is right across the street from the harbour and container pier but no noise to speak of, I mention this as I am a light sleeper and room doors etc usually wake me, no issue here. It is right across the street from the harbour and container pier but no noise to speak of, I mention this as I am a light sleeper and room doors etc usually wake me, no issue here. Really comfortable bed and beautiful rain shower. There is free parking on the street on the weekend and across the street in a city owned lot. Through the week might be a different story. There is also valet parking available for $17. Staff was accommodating and the hotel has a small boutique vibe to it with many music related pictures hanging throughout. There is a restaurant/bar in the lobby but I didn’t have a chance to eat there other than a take out coffee which was Starbucks I think. Good clean property owned by the Steele family which do things first rate as usual. Read less

Decor was very cool. The whole set up is original and eclectic. Highly recommend based on the rooms and the location if you are there for the downtown core. Not a lot of parking on site would be the reason for a 4 instead of a 5 rating. Only there one night so didnt really get to explore the hotel much

We were a group of about 50 people here for a work event. The location is perfect for walking downtown. The rooms were clean and quite. Air conditioners usually bother me but it was nice and quite here. The bar is very nice and the staff was all great. Zeor to complain about at this hotel.

The JAG sets the bar very high! Its downtown location overlooking St. John's Harbour is very convenient, just steps from Water Street and only a 7-minute walk to George Street. Many popular restaurants, pubs, and bars are easily within walking distance. The staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. One evening it was pouring rain and we were heading out to a restaurant reservation, and they were happy to lend umbrellas to our group of 8 when we asked, but then did one better and had their shuttle van take us right to the door of the restaurant. On our final day there, we had to leave the hotel at 3 am to go to the airport, and they once again had their shuttle van take us, saving us having to arrange, and pay for, a taxi. We were extremely impressed by their willingness to always go that extra bit further to ensure their guests had the best stay possible. The upscale rooms were very comfortable, and were all outfitted in a rock and roll theme. They offered free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, minifridges and Keurig coffeemakers; ours also had a pull-out sofa. The bed was super comfy, and the modern bathroom was beautifully outfitted. The restaurant food and staff were first-rate. We had some great breakfasts there! Valet parking is available for around $17 a day, with in and out privileges. There is also metered on-street parking, but it is limited. We had a rental car when we arrived, but ended up saving some money by returning it early, as we no longer needed it because of being able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. We highly recommend the JAG, and would go back in a heartbeat! Read less
