Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland

St Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador

The hotel

Nods to its nautical setting create a unique atmosphere at Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland, where harbour views are accompanied by maritime-inspired artwork and porthole windows. But this isn't a themed hotel, and you can expect all the smart modern styling of a Sheraton too, with contemporary guest rooms, global dining rooms, and a fitness hub whose gym, pool, and whirlpool feature views of the covered courtyard garden. Sitting in the footprint of old Fort William, in one of North America's oldest cities, a walk along St John's waterfront leads you past Harbourside Park to popular Georges Street.

Harborview is a must. Great service by all, from reception to valet. Tea, coffee and water always offered! Fridge in room, comfy beds and pillows. Unfortunately, the rooms are not soundproof, but minor compared to all the pluses

My spouse had an organizational gathering at the hotel and in adjacent church facilities. With the exception of one rate for pre conference housing the cost was fair. The accommodations in our second room were quite nice. The prices for Breakfast were reasonable and choices abundant. No charge for internet access was helpful as I was doing research and my work continued while in St. John. Staff were very helpful as there were some repairs on elevators and they accommodated all guests with access to the service elevators. Read less

From the front lobby, to the salons, bar, and rooms this hotel was impressive, clean, the staff are friendly and courteous. I was there before my room was ready, and my luggage was tagged and stored for me while I went to my conference on-site. The elevators were down to one, and the staff kindly let us use the service elevator to keep traffic moving. There were plugs everywhere for electronics, and staff brought extra chairs to our conference room after breakfast when they noticed some of us were standing at the back. Read less

Stayed at this hotel as I was only in St. John’s for one night and the price was really good. Check in was fast and friendly. There was only one elevator operating for the entire hotel which at times took a long time, but you could use housekeeping’s elevator. The hotel really could use some renovations as well as the rooms. The TV remote was… Read more

There was only one elevator operating for the entire hotel which at times took a long time, but you could use housekeeping’s elevator. The hotel really could use some renovations as well as the rooms. The TV remote was working and the door handle kept locking me in the room. Carpet has stains. The bed was super comfortable, the pool was great and loved the courtyard. The restaurant in the hotel was pricey for breakfast, $30 for a wrap and chocolate milk is a bit much. All and all was a good stay for one night and the price I paid, but would never stay at this property for their regular rate of $299 a night. Would only recommend this hotel if the price is right. A great location in St. Johns, and the most hospitable staff I have had the pleasure of staying with. Sing in the Lounge was amazing, she remembered the preferences of all the members of our group, and was always smiling and upbeat. The Concierge was also great, helping me with printing work materials, as did Dee Cole at the front desk. I shall… Read more
