I am not thrilled with my experience at this Doubletree. I am an Hilton Honors gold member and probably should have researched other brands in the area. We arrived about 2:30 on a Friday knowing it was too early to check in. I asked for a pass to use the pool and the request was granted. My phone number was requested to text me when the room was ready. By 4 oclock (check in was 3:30 and I was told the room would be ready in about 20 minutes), still hadn't received the text. I went to the desk and was advised the room was ready. I was not welcomed as a gold member and I had to ask for an available upgrade and was told I was upgraded to a "partial falls view". I booked and paid for a river view room which this pretty much looks like, but apparently considered partial falls view. As far as the location of this hotel, the area was pretty sketchy at night and not much within a couple blocks. I did not feel comfortable walking alone with my daughter at night. Also, although there is a bus stop at the hotel, it is the red line and only comes every half hour and you really have to change for the green line which runs along the main strip by the falls. That bus runs every 10 minutes. If you want to drive everywhere, this hotel is fine. You have to pay $20 plus tax for parking and the spots are very small. Your car will get bumped by the other doors. We walked past a Days Inn a couple blocks closer to the falls that advertised Free parking. Just saying. I usually consider public pools germ pits but we have pretty good immune systems and one of the attractions to this hotel were the lovely online pictures of the pool area. So we take our chances. We spent several hours over the course of 3 days and did not see one maintenance person check the chemicals (I know its saltwater but the hot tub was definitely chlorinated) I don't know about Canadian pools but in the US, public pools require babies to wear swim diapers. I watched a couple take an infant into the pool and then change the baby diaper on the poolside table. This bandaid stayed on the floor for our entire stay. The grout around the pool was pretty grimy. I also confirmed at check in that we would have our free breakfast included as gold members and were told to give our room number at the restaurant. Upon arrival at breakfast the next morning, the hostess informed me that I had chosen to receive the bonus points. When I disagreed, she told me she would call the front desk to make the change, picking up the phone as if it were some sort of dare. As if I was trying to get the points and breakfast too. One of the reasons I stayed here was the perk of free breakfast for gold members. I had read reviews that the IHOP cost $20. I think now I would have stayed at a cheaper hotel and spent the money at IHOP. I was also repeatedly reminded that I could only take the "cold food" from the buffet or I would be charged $8 more. It was such bizarre behavior that I inquired if I was allowed to toast a bagel or would I be charged extra? (no extra charge in case you wondered) I will say the room was clean and quiet. Nothing really terrible happened here, I just expected better after staying at other Doubletree and Hilton properties. I left feeling like they didn't care if we came back. They probably don't expect alot of repeat business in Niagara Falls. And this Doubletree would not get mine. Read less

We didn't arrive until 3am due to an untold number of flight delays during the day but the 24 hour reception was there to greet us just the same. We were in our room in no time. The room was quite large and we had a pretty good view of the city from it. We even had glimpses of the Falls. The room was clean, tidy and very well furnished with the usual safe, TV and fridge. The beds were extremely comfortable and after all our delays we needed it to be. The bathroom was on the small side but we made do without any problems. There is a bar in the lobby to enjoy along with a coffee making concern as well. Have no hesitation in recommending this excellent hotel. Read less

Stayed here because it was late and we had been driving all day. I was a little bit taken aback by the cost, but IS close to the Falls, so I didn't argue with that. However, I paid nearly $300.00 for a single room, and couldn't get a simple breakfast for that cost. Next time, I'll just push on and find something further away.

The front staff was professional and promptly welcomed me and had the room ready. The room was large and had a partial view of the falls, very nice. The location is a few blocks away from the Niagara Falls and only a few minutes walk to the Falls. It’s not the greatest location but it’s certainly the best and prominent one on this street. This Doubletree charges $20 per day for parking which I unwillingly accept as there is plenty of off street parking and as I eluded, it’s not the safest neighborhood. I guess it’s another revenue stream for this Doubletree. Read less

This is my second time staying here and once again it was fantastic. Staff are friendly, helpful and always ready to help and accommodate. Arrived a bit early but they were able to check us in right away and the cookies they give out at check in were warm and delicious. Room was very clean and bed was super comfy. The only issue I had was making the room warmer (put the temp higher but didn't make much of a difference) however the comforter was plush and warm. The pool and hot tub areas were very clean and made for a relaxing evening after walking around all day. Just wish staff could enforce the no jumping rules. 3 teens came in and were doing cannonballs and splashed the entire area (all my items by the pool on the table and chair got soaked). The pool and hot tub are heavily chlorinated. Even after shower in my room, I still smelled of chlorine. Towels are provided in pool area so you don't need to bring your own. The location is great but for someone with difficulty walking, it is a bit further then main area of Niagara Falls (falls, casinos, shops, restaurants). However I enjoy the quietness of the area and the walk to hotel after a meal at a nearby restaurant is perfect for digesting I did not use the gym or sauna but they too looked super clean and change rooms were impeccably clean as well and provided showers and lockers. The hotel also has a laundry room and a room with microwave, sink and vending machine for snacks and toiletries. I will definetly return here and it is my first choice when booking a hotel in Niagara. Read less
