I booked this hotel with Expedia two weekes in advance, I ordered a suite with two queen beds and after I paid for the room, the Itinerary came up and said I requessed a 1 King bed and only 1 person staying, which was not what I ordered at all. That would have been the one booking above the one I chose, which was 2 queen beds in a suite and 4 people. So I call Hotel Halifax to see if I could get this straightened out. They said yes no problem and that was it. I get a email from Expedia one day before we go to stay and the are telling me that I have to take the room with one King bed. Well I call the Hotel Halifax again to see what is going on. The manager gets me the suite with a king bed which was fantastic, and one standerd room next to the suite with a queen bed for free. It does not get any better then this folks, and the rooms where very nice and clean and up to date. I even had a 8 foot dining tabe in my suite that had 8 chairs to set to, let along everything eles from a liveing room set and three bathrooms to three TV's. The staff went out of the way to make my stay very self-rewarding and respectful. They even let me know the cheapest was to park that would cost me less. I will be back as soon as I can. Read less

Stayed here for one night. Entered the room there was fruit snack wrappers on the desk, stuff/dirt in the sink and the remote was missing for the TV. The rooms are big but out dated, mine just felt dirty to be honest stained floors, yellow wallpaper peeling off the wall in addition to the above. Parking wasn't the greatest as you have to park in… Read more

Parking wasn't the greatest as you have to park in the parkade and walk through Scotia Square. The location is good if your looking for downtown. The bed and location is the only thing that kept me from giving it 1 star. Not impressed, there are other hotels in the area similarly priced that's more modern and cleaner IMO. Read less

We didn't spend a lot of time in our room, but the bed was comfortable. Location: The location of this hotel was perfect! It was in the heart of downtown halifax and only a short distance to the Harbor Walk. So many restaurants and stores nearby. Parking: Parking was a little difficult, we had to pay 18 dollars a day to park our rental car in the underground parking lot. We didn't try street parking, but it didn't look like there was much space to street park anyways. Staff: All the staff were very nice and accommodating and there was never a huge lineup to wait through. Check in and out was very fast and organized Read less

The beds are great. Pillows are soft and plush. Room was clean as was the shower and washroom. Front desk staff are friendly, helpful and quick on the check in and out. Right in downtown Halifax so getting where you want to go downtown is within walking distance. I will return.

The Hotel Halifax is in an excellent location in downtown Halifax. There are a lot of restaurants in the area (including a terrific food court in the Scotia Square, which can be accessed directly from the hotel), an easy walk to the Scotiabank Centre and the casino (not really worth a visit unless you like slot machines as there were very few tables with games). There is parking right beside the hotel (better to pay the parking lot directly as the daily rate charge is a little less than the hotel daily rate charge) and you can access the hotel through the parking garage. My room (two double beds) was fine although the carpet could use a good cleaning and the bathroom tiling could use an update. The staff were all very nice and friendly and the in-house restaurant was quite good. The exercise room was a decent size, but the equipment could be newer and there was a pool area too (did not use it). All in all, it was a good stay and if the hotel owners invest some money in upgrades, the hotel will be very good. Read less
