Our first impression was of a mildly disrespectful valet telling us to move our car 4 feet to unblock the single lane registration area in front of the hotel.... he wouldn't give us the 4 minutes it would take to unload our luggage (as we had already checked in and were in the process of moving luggage to move the car to the garage.) Our first impression was of a mildly disrespectful valet telling us to move our car 4 feet to unblock the single lane registration area in front of the hotel.... he wouldn't give us the 4 minutes it would take to unload our luggage (as we had already checked in and were in the process of moving luggage to move the car to the garage.) The lobby is deceptive as it is up to date and well maintained. Our room on the 7th floor had sooo manyissues and all could be fixed just as upkeep! The carpet has many wrinkles of excess materials (or is that strange bumps in the floor?) that are dangerous if you are older. All of the furniture (especially the wood furniture) is really beat...chunks of wood missing in places. The linens smelled good, Clean smell. The spacious room was accompanied by a teeny tiny bathroom. And the sink was inside this teeny area. Shower good with a rain type shower head. Dedicated kettle for tea drinkers! Yay! No "Coffee contaminated" water heater for tea drinkers. This is rare. View is of harbor....but comes with traffic noise from the multi-lane road running by the harbor. The climate control in the room was semi-broken. You can't control the fan (which turns on and off quite loudly) to run constantly (as a set of very official looking instructions tells us to do) because it is broken. It is hit or miss to get the temperature you want. There is one electric socket for the desk unless you unplug the radio etc. Wi Fi is slow. Very slow. Parking is $20 a day for self park and $27 per day for valet. If you self park and leave to go anywhere....the clock starts over on the $16 per day and you pay to get out. Read less

We were there recently. The location is great, walking distance to everything. We were in a room with Harbor front view with two double beds that is what they offer with view. The rooms are clean but could use updating.Beds are comfortable with crisp linens. We enjoyed the pedways that connect few hotels and Harbor front. Parking is very expensive.

The hotel is getting old. It's clean and that's most important. The location is great. Walking distance to everything that are worth going. Parking is expensive if you pay through the hotel. Pay for parking yourself and save yourself a few dollars.

Stopped here recently with my family whilst visiting Halifax and was pleasantly surprised. Food in the restaurant was great, kids enjoyed the pool, the gym was half decent and the room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

We were only staying one night, so perhaps that's why we were assigned a room at the end of a long hall...not sure. It was clean, convenient and quite safe. I do not like having to pay an additional fee to park at a hotel, but it seems to be a trend; at least the desk clerk told us the cheapest way to do it (no valet, as a patron of the parking garage and not the hotel).
