Tina the women at the front desk was very nice with us upon arival. Room was clean and we were satisfied. Very close to the Mall and Casino Halifax. We walked in the pedways to the casino without having to go outside, which was extremely nice during winter. We had a view of Halifax harbour. Nice hotel for a low price.

After being kept awake by noise in the hallways, we got woken up at 7 am by construction/renovations in a near by room. This noise was constant from 7 to 9 am. The room could have been cleaner as there was hair in the bathtub and the soap bar was mouldy. A bit disappointed because we were hoping for a romantic getaway.

I booked this hotel with Expedia two weekes in advance, I ordered a suite with two queen beds and after I paid for the room, the Itinerary came up and said I requessed a 1 King bed and only 1 person staying, which was not what I ordered at all. That would have been the one booking above the one I chose, which was 2 queen beds in a suite and 4 people. So I call Hotel Halifax to see if I could get this straightened out. They said yes no problem and that was it. I get a email from Expedia one day before we go to stay and the are telling me that I have to take the room with one King bed. Well I call the Hotel Halifax again to see what is going on. The manager gets me the suite with a king bed which was fantastic, and one standerd room next to the suite with a queen bed for free. It does not get any better then this folks, and the rooms where very nice and clean and up to date. I even had a 8 foot dining tabe in my suite that had 8 chairs to set to, let along everything eles from a liveing room set and three bathrooms to three TV's. The staff went out of the way to make my stay very self-rewarding and respectful. They even let me know the cheapest was to park that would cost me less. I will be back as soon as I can. Read less

Parking wasn't the greatest as you have to park in… Read more

The rooms are big but out dated, mine just felt dirty to be honest stained floors, yellow wallpaper peeling off the wall in addition to the above. Parking wasn't the greatest as you have to park in the parkade and walk through Scotia Square. The location is good if your looking for downtown. The bed and location is the only thing that kept me from giving it 1 star. Not impressed, there are other hotels in the area similarly priced that's more modern and cleaner IMO. Read less
