We stayed elsewhere in Halifax, but always return at the Westin. We are always treated nicely and it's truly our base in Halifax. We can be a little high demand/maintenance sometimes, but we always get a yes! with our requests! It's a big hotel, but in our experience, the service is personalized like at an inn or boutique hotel. We always get a room to our liking. We have traveled far and wide, but this one is a keeper. It is very hard to fault the Westin, I recommend it without hesitation! Thank you! Read less

My spouse and I have been living in separate countries for the past 8 months. Although she returned to Canada almost 2 weeks ago, she of course had to go into isolation for 14 days. My spouse stayed at the Westin for her isolation and we passed our wedding anniversary 3 days before she could leave. The restaurant prepared us an incredible meal, and made it so that we were served at the same time as if we were sitting together,(she stayed in her room while I was in the restaurant on FaceTime). I have never been so impressed as I was with their service. Not only was the food exceptional, but all the staff seemed so excited to be a part of our celebration. It was a wonderful evening , and was the first real date night conversation we have had in 8 months. I can’t praise the staff enough...Alex, Daniel (hope I got the names right) and everyone who helped make this a fantastic anniversary, Thank you. You are true ambassadors of the East Coast/Maritime friendliness. Read less

My wife and I stay here once a month for a staycation. We only live an hour away but the 24hrs in Halifax is a nice getaway. We recently began staying at the Westin. Seriously, lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote!! Fish cake eggs benny! The best. Their happy hour (Thursday and Saturday) serves incredible things like $6 calamari (that tastes like it’s $25) or halibut tar tar with salmon roe for $7. Are you kidding me!!! Staff are always helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel. Read less

During the COVID outbreak, I was with the crew of HMCS VILLE DE QUEBEC of the Royal Canadian Navy, during our 14 day quarantine prior to proceeding out to sea in support of the federal response. This was, understandably, a very stressful time being apart from family and friends, but the staff at the Westin did everything they could to make the stay as comfortable as possible and I sincerely appreciated all their efforts. The food was delivered promptly and delicious (the butter chicken was a personal favourite!). The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. I particularly appreciated that the Westin waived the individual fee for high speed internet thus allowing face time with family. What impressed me most was that although the staff were thrust into this uncertain and novel situation, they responded with amazing flexibility and admirable patience (dealing with a bunch of sailors can be... trying). They even indulged our morale support actions by enabling our two BINGO nights. On a personal note, Guest Services was always on point with me and always provided everything that I needed promptly. In particular, a big shout out to Janielle who had my preferred drinks locked in almost immediately and was always a cheery voice on the other end of the phone! It was wonderful to have a steadying reminder of normalcy and kindness in this frankly very scary time. All in all, a wonderful experience. Again, all props to the staff and their efforts going above and beyond. I can say that I, for one, am extremely grateful for everything they did to support my sailors and myself. While difficult to fully express my thanks, I will simply close by saying that I definitely owe them a drink later. Thanks for everything! Stay safe! Read less
