Westin Nova Scotian

Halifax, Nova Scotia

The hotel

Throwing you into Halifax's celebrated maritime scene, this Westin outpost puts you right in the charming Seaport District, with museums, galleries, and the Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market all in easy reach. With dining, shopping, and sightseeing surrounding it, Westin Nova Scotian could have rested on its location laurels, but they've added extra touches like a heated indoor pool, Roy's Lounge, and Elements on Hollis, serving up comfort food classics.

I typically book my hotels through a third party service and I usually end up with one of two hotels when I travel to Halifax. I am never disappointed with The Westin! The staff are so accommodating and courteous, it really is a home away from home. This hotel offers ample (paid) parking and is a very short walk away from the downtown waterfront.… Read more

Our room on the 7th floor overlooked the Halifax harbour and George's Island. It was lovely to wake up with the sun streaming into the room. Service and staff were excellent as were the amenities (pool, gym, dining) and location (minutes to the Harbour front and Boardwalk). It is also pet-friendly with 2 of the lower floors dedicated to pets. Both… Read more

This is now our favourite Halifax hotel and we will definitely go back. Read less

I have Bonvoy status so almost always treated well, and the Westin Halifix Nova Scotian was no exception. Valet and check-in were friendly, fast and efficient. Room (upgrade) was great. Dinner reservation turned out to be short walk; docks and harbour front walk right there; also able to walk (uphill!) to the Citadel. Week at Westin Waikiki was one of our best over the years - so Westin probably our favourite brand. Read less

I've stayed at every hotel in downtown Halifax. Every. Single. One. Most more than once, and the Westin is most certainly my favorite and most recommended. I've now stayed with the Westin more times than I can count on a near-monthly basis and, though the friendliness of some daytime front desk staff remains an area of concern (we did see the looks you exchanged when I arrived for check-in), nearly every experience has been impressive and exceptional beyond my expectations. Most recently my boyfriend and I spent three nights at The Westin over the Canada Day long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My room, upon request, had a beautiful view of the ocean and the Seaport Farmer's Market and was spotlessly clean. The bed is the most comfortable hotel bed in the city by far, and I do enjoy their bath products. During our stay we dined at Roy's Lounge on numerous occasions. The bar area is located just off the (quite grand) lobby, and is very open; great for people watching!! The food is always high quality (their willingness to accommodate my scallop and avocado allergies is a huge plus) and their wine list is very nice and features quite a few of my favorites, though I'd love to see a wider selection of Nova Scotian wines on the list. Both Logan and Andrew were very fun and efficient servers and their service was very much appreciated. I'd recommend The Westin over any hotel in Halifax for any occasion, be it a family vacation, couples getaway, business trip, etc. and can't wait to return. Read less
