The hotel

Among the French-flavoured attractions of Gatineau, this red-brick residence sits 100m from Maison du Citoyen, surrounded by popular museums like the Canadian Museum of History. We had a good three nights over a long weekend here. The room was very comfortable with a refrigerator and a nice easy chair. There was an extra thermostat in the bathroom to make sure it was cozy. Staff were nice. Parking tight and hard to get in and out...so we just left the car there and walked. Very convenient to history museum. Not much else… Read more

Staff were nice. Parking tight and hard to get in and out...so we just left the car there and walked. Very convenient to history museum. Not much else in neighborhood which had limited food and shopping options closeby. The breakfasts were ok, one day buffet, one day off the menu but the dinner was appallingly bad. You can see my review on that page. We told the hotel staff about our bad dinner but clearly its a different business so they had no response. Read less

The Four Points is right across the road from the Museum of Canada or whatever it's called now. A little cab ride from the War Museum. Nice rooms, a decent bar, and good prices. I like that place. Great service too.

I learned that Stephen Harper had the name of the Museum of Civilization changed to the Museum of History. Really! why? Across the street is the 4 Points. Great location. About a three minute walk to the Alexandra Bridge which takes you across the river to the National Gallery and Parliament Buildings. The hotel is a standard Sheraton. Staff was… Read more
I learned that Stephen Harper had the name of the Museum of Civilization changed to the Museum of History. Really! why? Across the street is the 4 Points. Great location. About a three minute walk to the Alexandra Bridge which takes you across the river to the National Gallery and Parliament Buildings. The hotel is a standard Sheraton. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool is quite small and should have a changing room so you don’t have to wander through the lobby in your bathing suit. Rooms are a good size and very clean. Beds are comfortable. I had a room across from the elevator so there was some noise so I had to sleep after the first night with a white noise machine. If you don’t use housekeeping you get a $5 a night credit. I combined my credits and used them to pay for a meal in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant is not large but had friendly staff and reasonable prices. Within walking distance to many tourist attractions. Read less

Spent a few days here for work. Close to the office, after work events, and the staff bent over backwards to make me feel comfortable. Took advantage of their green program, gym, etc. Good beer at the bar, the restaurant has a passable breakfast. Overall, lovely!

Located right across the street from the Canadian Museum of History and within walking-distance to parliament, this is a great spot to stay if you want to explore Ottawa & Gatineau. From the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant, everyone is pleasant and helpful and the guest room was clean & comfortable. I had one meal from the restaurant (the obligatory poutine) and it was hot and tasty and the portion size was enough for two. Read less
