I did like it . The customer service is basic, terrible for this hotel. The room was clean and pleasant. A lot of space. The parking price is a joke. But seriously customer service extremely rude at front desk and instead of handing you the bill right away they way when you almost leave and throw it under the door on the floor in a envelope. … Read more

Took my girlfriend here for one night, she’s from bc so I wanted to show her downtown Ottawa. I’ve stayed at the fairmont before and it was breathtaking in every aspect, I expected somewhat the same from the lord Elgin as I’ve driven by tons of times and it seems like a high class place. It is sub par let me tell you, nothing extravagant anywhere in this hotel. Nothing special, pool is small and lac lustre, rooms are super plain and normal, reminds me of a holiday inn. Showers were tiled very nicely, but nowhere for hand towels to hang or towels to hang outside the glass sliding doors (just not thought out properly at all). The craziest thing was after paying 250$ for my night there, we weren’t offered any sort of breakfast at all. I know it’s a fancy place and doesn’t have your standard continental breakfast buffet like the super 8 does but it should offer something. “There are plenty of places for breakfast down the street” was the answer I got from the front desk. So we left and took out money elsewhere for breakfast. They need to drop the prices as this is not a prestigious hotel anymore, maybe 20 years ago, but not now. Read less

We considered several of the other higher priced options in close proximity, trusted this property’s great reviews and were glad we did. Impeccable service levels. Some of the common areas are starting to get long in the tooth, especially carpets. But our room was immaculate and very comfortable. We don’t know what we might have missed… Read more
