Impressive hotel! The pool & hot tub is an Achilles heel of this operation. On entering the pool complex which is unsupervised, we observed 2 unrelated adults & 4 toddlers playing in the hot tub. They remained there for 15 minutes and the n I changed and spoke to the front desk, indicating my concerns on the basis of public health. An unsupervised hot tub & 2yr olds is a Petri dish of problems.i reported this on my hotel review as per their request. A soaking in the hot tub would have been great after a long drive!,,But, it must be clean& supervised- very disappointing!, Read less

Our check-in started off on a rough note when dozens of passengers from a cancelled Aer Lingus flight checked into the hotel at the same time as me and my husband. However, the very nice and cheerful man at the front desk, along with other staff members, worked quickly to get everyone settled in. I was impressed with how they managed the tough and unexpected situation. From then on, during our 4-day stay everything looked to be well under control. Our room (Parkview King) was right by the elevator, but I did not hear much during our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with classic furniture, and the bathroom was modern and had been noticeably renovated. The view of Confederation Park was quite lovely. Housekeeping was efficient and did a great job. When I stayed in the room with the “do not disturb” sign for one day, the housekeeping staff phoned to confirm if I wanted to skip service that day. That was appreciated. The location is perfect - just a short walk to Sparks Street, Parliament, the mall and great eats (Beckta and Scone Witch are within 5 mins walk), but in a quieter part of Ottawa so it really dies down at night and you get a good sleep. Byward Market is also walkable but a bit further - maybe 20 to 30 minute walk - but it can be rowdier at night in the Market. A few minor quibbles: 1) At times during the day (when people are usually out and about) I could hear doors slamming in the hotel, which shook the headboard. This didn’t bother me because I was awake and it occurred only about twice, but just be aware that loud sounds can travel through the hotel. It is an older structure and not soundproofed to the nth degree. 2) I wish there was a ceiling fan in the bathroom to clear out the steam from showering and other smells, if you know what I mean! 3) Valet parking is $35 CAD per day, so we parked at City Hall, where it is nearly half the price on weekdays ($18) and free during evenings and weekends. It’s a short walk from the hotel. This doesn’t take away from my rating though, as I understand the valet costs to be the norm for the downtown Ottawa hotels. Read less

Beutiful bathroom but furniture could do with update in room. One prob where cleaner had forgot to clean out fridge which had food left in and fridge not switched on so bit smelly but sorted straight away Beautiful central position with plenty park areas and access to all areas easy by foot.
