Great desk staff, proactive with helpful advice. Location perfect for walking to Nature Museum and Parliament buildings. Nearby restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend highly! Put your car away and walk around the center city.

People at desk were very helpful! hotel is in great location. seems like everything is within walking distance--- if you like to walk or ride a bike. do not recommend driving in the area... congestion - and lots of one way streets. we took a taxi cab to tulip festival.

Probably one of the best situated hotels I have stayed in, the Lord Elgin is right at the heart of the Ottawa and is a great starting point from which to explore this wonderful city. The room was comfortable but the biggest you will ever see, nevertheless the bed was extremely comfortable and the en-suite shower was very good. A nice touch was the 5 CAD voucher for Starbucks you receive each night you forgo housekeeping. On the pricier side but if you are in Ottawa for a short stay it's worth the money. Read less

Not interested in us. Never been offered help with our luggage, went to our room good size, 2 small double beds very comfortable. lovely shower room fine if you do not like bath. I feel the reception should tell you and offer you an alternative (we paid enough) it’ felt as if it was a sort of take it or leave it attitude we did not bother to try the restaurant. In the morning we went to the train station by bus 61 62 St Laurent $3.50 about 20 minutes. Read less
