I made my first trip ever to Ottawa, I brought my 3 daschhund since are part of my family, during my research the Novotel looks like the best option, I called them in advance to clarify any additional fee in regards to the dogs, they told me a 50 cad deposit was required but refundable at the end of my visit. Location is something really amazing at Ottawa downtown heart. Read less

We enjoyed our room. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We were unfortunately placed on a floor with an entire hockey team on our second night and These kids were wild. I have my own children and I would never let them act like that in a hotel with other paying guests. Screaming outside of our door, hitting it with hockey sticks and pucks. They had their net set up right out side of our door and were unsupervised as the parents were around the corner drinking in the hall. I called down to the front desk at 9:30 and they took forever to come so I ended up having to pop my head out and ask them to take the game to another hall. The Dad was not very receptive to my asking them to take the game to another hallway and it was just awkward. He said he didn't realize there were other non hockey team guests on the floor. Reservations should do a better job at room bookings and placements. They were kind enough to move our room but that was also an inconvenience to us but we did move so we didn't have to deal with the kids now running by our room and banging on the door. It would have been nice for them to offer assistance with luggage and maybe even a glass of wine for having to deal with that! It was a very unpleasant situation to say the least! We previously have stayed at the Lord Elgin and I will be returning there! Read less
