The hotel

A unique and contemporary boutique hotel, located in the heart of Old Québec. With over 300 years of history to its name, the Auberge Saint-Antoine is an integral part of the City's history. Steeped in hundreds of artifacts from both the French and English regimes, this hotel is a historian's dream! Dig a little deeper and take part in a historical journey on the hotel's archaeological tour, admire the French cannon, Dauphine Battery (which dates back to 1709), and the many artifact displays. First time at this property (and first time in Quebec City) and this hotel really does everything right. From the moment we arrived it was a great experience - bellman was warm and friendly and check in was efficient and friendly. My group selected the property as part of AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts. We considered other properties in the city (mainly the big castle) but thought we'd enjoy the experience of a smaller/boutique property. We had two rooms and each one of them had a great view of the old town and looked directly at the Fairmont. We didn't try the gym (shame on us) but we enjoyed breakfast every morning in the restaurant - it was superb! The bar was a fun spot to hang for a drink but the service wasn't as great as we would have expected based on the service everywhere else. Concierge was friendly and helpful and was able to secure reservations for NYE with only a few days notice - great job! Hotel is right where you want to be. Easy to walk to places or a short taxi ride away if you don't want to walk places. I can't wait to return to Quebec City and this hotel! It's a geam. Read less

I spend 3 nights there with friends and it was an incredible visit. Their rooms are so comfortable and beautiful. I stayed in a king comfort room and it is huge! You come back to your room and you have the music playing. Everything is very well taken care of. I am a light sleeper but I slept like a baby. I did not hear anything from outside in my room. All their employees are courteous and professional. You even leave with a small bag with cookies! I told my friends that I am going back in January next year! Read less

We stayed at the Saint Antoine for 5 nights beginning on Thanksgiving as we wanted to see Quebec City at Christmas. Our room was nice, not over the top, but it was very quiet. The bathroom was roomy with heated tile flooring, the bed was comfy. The hotel is nicely located for a walk to the Petit Champlain area. We felt safe walking in the area at all times. To get to the Christmas markets and many restaurants and sites, it was either a walk up way too many stairs or a funicular ride to the top of the hill. We took the funicular most times ($3.50/person). The hotel is located near the St Lawrence whereas the Chateau is in the uptown area. The Saint Antoine is nowhere near as busy with tourists and bus tours as the Fairmont, which we checked out. The concierges at the Saint Antoine were fabulous. We relied on their expertise for directions, tours, places to eat and they never failed us! The brunch at the hotel was delicious, a little pricey but worth it. We enjoyed our stay at the Auberge Saint Antoine! Read less
