The hotel

A unique and contemporary boutique hotel, located in the heart of Old Québec. With over 300 years of history to its name, the Auberge Saint-Antoine is an integral part of the City's history. Image of the Tripadvisor rating nice hotel, but small room

The main disappointment was the size of our room. There was barely enough room to lay our luggage flat. We had for a corner room with a view, one of the more expensive options, and were surprised to see valuable square footage sacrificed for outdoor space. We had for a corner room with a view, one of the more expensive options, and were surprised to see valuable square footage sacrificed for outdoor space. That aside, the hotel is modern and the bathroom floor is heated. The bidet function on the toilet doesn't seem to work well though. This is a great location in the lower town. Brunch at Chez Muffy was excellent. Service, however, was just fine, not great, especially for this purported quality of hotel. Our flight was cancelled, rebooked, then delayed, resulting in an exhausting journey, red eye flights, and missing a night we had paid for. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but they could have been more welcoming and warmer with check in, even feigning interest in our situation. Read less

We decided to take a long Valentine’s Day weekend in Quebec City. I’d been to the city before and stayed in the upper town. This time, I decided to stay in the lower town. And at Auberge San Antoine. It was a great decision. Cold and snow marked our arrival. We took a taxi from airport to doorstep of the hotel. Checking in was easy and we got up to our room. It was well fitted out and very comfortable. Well stocked bar and refrigerator (items to purchase). Nespresso machine as well as a small variety of capsules. Cream and Sugar. Tea bags also present. But the best surprise was the heated floor in bathroom. We kept the room cool at night, so the warm floor was more than welcome in the morning. Bed was comfortable. Not much of a view from bedroom window. The public spaces are comfortable. Lit Fireplaces strewn about made relaxing in front of a warm fire the perfect way to unwind after busy tourist days. We ate dinner in the small bar area one evening. Good but nothing special. Great service was the rude, not the exception. The soups, however, we’re outstanding. Breakfast/buffet was a different story. The food was served in Muffy...their renowned restaurant (we did not have dinner there). The food was wonderful, well prepared, and a nice variety was available. Our server kept refilling coffee/tea; and to make sure all was right for us. Pastries were fabulous. Fish, fruits, eggs, and salads were delicious On the morning of our departure, we arrived a bit late at the restaurant. No Problem. They seated us immediately and assured us that the full buffet would be available. And it was. The staff made no effort to end service until we were finished. What a gift! Somewhat atypical for us, we used the concierge service a couple of times. The concierge made a restaurant reservation for us at The Continental. More importantly, he remembered us each time we stopped by and took the opportunity to chat with us in both French and English. That was really special for us! We did not use the spa or gym. Our daytime was spent outside exploring. We really loved our stay at Auberge San Antoine. The venue was great. Location was great. The people were great. I think I’ve found my new, favorite Quebec City Hotel Read less

The Valets and Bellmen were all polite, fast and eager to help. The front desk agent was a lovely, friendly man and made quick work out of getting us checked in, parked and accompanied to our room. The room was nice, but not as large as the one I thought I booked. The bathroom was clean, had lovely toiletries and sparkling white towels. There were several items that needed attention that surprised me in this level of hotel, In our room, both the sheer curtains and the draperies had stains on them and the draperies had several tears. Their Housekeeping Manager should have noticed and handled that. We had dinner at "Artifacts" at a little table tucked into a corner by the fireplace. I noticed that the carpet was dirty and the pillows on the sofa had stains on them. The food was good but the items needing attention concerned me. Overall, I'd give the hotel a 4 but a little more attention to detail would get them a 5 from me. Read less
