Auberge Saint Antoine

The hotel

A unique and contemporary boutique hotel, located in the heart of Old Québec. With over 300 years of history to its name, the Auberge Saint-Antoine is an integral part of the City's history. Steeped in hundreds of artifacts from both the French and English regimes, this hotel is a historian's dream! Dig a little deeper and take part in a historical journey on the hotel's archaeological tour, admire the French cannon, Dauphine Battery (which dates back to 1709), and the many artifact displays. The award-winning four-diamond Chez Muffy Restaurant is sure to satisfy your senses. With exceptional classic French dishes made from the finest local produce, a wine list 700 labels long and stunning views of the St. Lawrence River, you can see why it is as popular with the locals as it is with the visitors! The little visitors are catered for too, with a dedicated children’s program offering children a teddy bear to look after, as well as in-room bathrobes and slippers for use during their stay, simple touches that we are sure will please the most discerning of guests!

The reception staff were professional and polite at all times, ensuring that we were totally satisfied with all our needs, especially the lovely room. The concierge had fantastic suggestions for every day. She organised a private walking tour of the city, which proved to be excellent, driving itinerary to the Îsle of D'Orléans, the stunning Montmorency falls and  lastly provided excellent restaurant recommendations. The hotel's bar, gym and absolutely wonderful restaurant, Chez Muffy made this a most memorable time. I must add our compliments to the chef and the restaurant staff. I am absolutely certain that this is the most charming and best hotel in Quebec City. Read less

I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world, from 1 star to 5 stars, and this hotel was hands down my absolute favorite! As the expression goes – the devil is in the details – and they have the details executed to perfection. The hotel is located in the lower level of the Old City in an ideal location. As a single traveler I am always aware of my surroundings and try to pick places where I feel safe. This hotel is intimate and cozy. I felt like I was wrapped in a warm cocoon. When I arrived in my room there was a handwritten note welcoming me to the hotel along with a welcome gift (I won’t spoil the surprise). The room has all of the amenities (robe AND slippers, iron, free Wi-Fi, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar and gel soap, mouthwash, lighted make-up mirror). They also provide a floss dispenser! I had never seen this before. The floor in the bathroom is heated and this was greatly appreciated. There is also a television in the bathroom. The bathroom has both a shower and deep soaker tub. I loved reading by the fireplace in either the bar area or the lobby. There is a wonderful restaurant or you can do as I did some evenings – eat in the bar area. The staff in the bar are wonderful and will put you at ease. When I returned to my room in the evenings housekeeping had closed the curtains and had smooth jazz playing on the Bose system. They also provided a bucket of ice; and a set up for herbal tea! The refrigerator is always fully stocked. Each night housekeeping comes by with a bottle of water and a note card detailing the weather for the next day. Lastly, I loved the esthetician! Need a manicure or facial? No problem! When I checked out of the hotel they gave me an assortment of delicious cookies for the road! This last gesture touched me deeply. This hotel manages to hit all the right notes!! Read less
