Auberge Saint Antoine

Quebec City, Canada

The hotel

A unique and contemporary boutique hotel, located in the heart of Old Québec. With over 300 years of history to its name, the Auberge Saint-Antoine is an integral part of the City's history. Steeped in hundreds of artifacts from both the French and English regimes, this hotel is a historian's dream! Dig a little deeper and take part in a historical journey on the hotel's archaeological tour, admire the French cannon, Dauphine Battery (which dates back to 1709), and the many artifact displays. The award-winning four-diamond Chez Muffy Restaurant is sure to satisfy your senses. With exceptional classic French dishes made from the finest local produce, a wine list 700 labels long and stunning views of the St. Lawrence River, you can see why it is as popular with the locals as it is with the visitors! The little visitors are catered for too, with a dedicated children’s program offering children a teddy bear to look after, as well as in-room bathrobes and slippers for use during their stay, simple touches that we are sure will please the most discerning of guests!

My husband and I love old hotels and all the character you find in them. This one rated right up there on the list! I know many people don't care for "old" hotels (musty, needs updating, etc.), but the Auberge St Antoine is so much more! First of all everything inside is new and fresh, bordering on modern. Quebecers are quite proud of their history and this hotel has capitalized on that history. All throughout the hotel are artifacts that have been uncovered during an archaeological dig of the property and are proudly displayed just about everywhere. It is so unique and so interesting, making it more than just a luxurious boutique hotel. Will definitely stay there again! Read less

Staff is top notch and the restaurant Chez Muffy is just a very cool space. Thought it was on par with some of the finest places I had the pleasure of… Read more

Madeleines were waiting for us in our room with a personal note of welcome-which set the perfect tone for our 3-night stay. The room was very well-appointed, and we had a lovely balcony and fireplace--which we throughly enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious, and the every aspect of the hotel's service was impeccable. A special note of thanks and mention (and commendation!) is for Antoine, the hotel concierge. A gem!! Antoine's suggestions for 'things to see and do' (including the best local knitting/weaving store for those of us with a special penchant for fiber ...) along with deliciously perfect dinner reservations were incomparable. Something which is not always true when traveling ... You really made our trip one to remember, Antoine. Merci beaucoup. With heartfelt thanks to the entire SA staff--and especially Antoine! We decided to avoid larger hotels in order to get R & R during our 3 night stay in QC. This auberge did not disappoint! The service is excellent and our 1 bedroom suite was perfect, along with a grass terrace so a lot of open space. The bed was quite comfortable. There were a few hiccups including lack of requests (bathrobes for our children!), turndown service when we were all in bed but we chose not to let this spoil our stay. One of the concierge (a vegetarian) also sent us to a very poor quality restaurant our first night. She did not appear knowledgeable and was not too pleasant to deal with. Luckily, the food at the hotel bar and restaurant is excellent and we ordered room service a number of times. Highly recommend and we will return! Read less
