The bar did not have a warm cosy feeling and only visited once. The breakfast was good and the manager seemed to be doing it all...serving, clearing and welcoming.. he seemed run of his feet. Enjoyable breakfast, the valet service was efficient. Would I recommend this hotel compared to other Marriotts... NO... Gentlemen was warm and welcoming and gave us some great advice. Gym was good and I appreciated the cold towel fridge..Overall Quebec was a great place to visit. Read less

We spent an amazing 6 nights.... the staff were great, room was perfect, and the pool was a great way to spend an afternoon. If I had one small complaint, it would be the housekeeping... it was a bit hit and miss. 2 days out of the 6, we felt that the housekeeping was not up to standard... but nothing major. I would recommend this hotel to… Read more

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city... it's the perfect location and were were able to walk everywhere. Bonus, there's a car rental location on site that we used for 1 day to get out of the city. Read less

Let me just give you a brief view of what took place on July 10. Since I am a platinum ambassador member of Marriott, I decided to use some of my points to cover my stay in Quebec during the Summer Festival. Since travelling with my partner, I opted for a Junior King suite described as a king room with a separated living room area. The amount of points needed was quite high for the property and my expectation were not met. On arrival after an 8 hours car ride, I pulled up at the front entrance and was met by two male employees, the first one could hardly speak French and I switch to English for a better service, when I I dictated that I wanted to park my car myself in their self park lot described on their website, I was met with rude behaviour and was told that since the lobby was on the third floor, I had no other choice but to leave our bags with the bus boy and use the Valet service. It’s only when I refused that they told me where the self parking entrance was located. The other male employee then blocked my car with luggage cart when I tried to leave, I pulled down my window and asked politely in English if he could move the cart so I could clear the entrance, he then shortly moved the cart but scream at me in French to just move my fuc$&@ big car away. I was flabbergasted at how I was been welcome to this property. Once in the lobby at the third floor, I wasn’t impress at the decor, it is like a ciment bunker, super bland and in need of a new decor. Check in was simple but the employee was a little up tight, when I asked her for my luggage, she told me it would be delivered to my room. Once in the room, this is where my expectation felt flat, it was old, every pieces of furniture in the room was scratched, windows were dirty, walls had marks and scratch, and the separated living room was non existant. It was a big room weirdly shaped giving you a view of the outdoor courtyard with a pool in the middle. We sat on the sofa and both of us were questioning what just had happened and also the fact that I could have reside at the ritz for the amount of points taken. This was unfortunate not the ritz and far from it. We both had stayed at delta property in the Atlantic provinces who had been well maintained and we like it, but this hotel was so run down that we decided to call the Marriott line to complain. We were told that the property was sold out and that they had nothing else to offer us. I made the decision to book at the Marriott property two blocks away and it ended up being the best decision I made about my Quebec trip. In the light of my complaint, the Delta did return all my points and also awarded me with extra points for compensation, but I wanted to right tia review for management and the public to know that this kind of service and the state of this hotel does not reflect the majority of the many Marriott properties I stayed in over the years. I will never go back to this hotel and I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for your own insanity. Read less

Despite of that, the staff keeps refreshing the offering on the counter. The only thing is in the breakfast room they dont seem to have enough number of people working or their process is not great: they left people waiting in the line for 10-15 min just to get seated even if there were always plenty of tables available. The bottleneck seemed to be the person who can seat people at a table. That person seemed to be always busy doing something else like cleaning some tables after seating people and meanwhile the line kept always getting longer and longer, which seemed to be completely unneccessary and avoidable. I have never seen this anywhere else. It was really strange, but otherwise the staff has been very polite and attentive. Read less

The property is conveniently located on the Parliament Hill. Right next to the old town and the Parliament. Every place of interest is within walking distance and extremely convenient to reach. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is courteous. The rooms are a little dated but they are very spacious. Negative - The doorman wasn’t at duty when I checked out at 4:30 am and there was no way I could get a taxi and had to order a very expensive Uber. I waited for 15 min and yet no sign. There was a summer festival going on and there were people drunk and moving around on the streets. Never a safe feeling. Another caution to fellow travellers (and this isn’t the hotel’s mistake). Please don’t walk to the hotel from the train station. It’s just 1.2 kms but largely uphill and extremely inconvenient. Steps are also involved. Read less
