We had a king-sized bed facing the river. Absolute fantastic view, especially at night. The room had vaulted ceilings and was a bit larger than I had anticipated. Breakfast was great. Showers were great- lots of water flow and lots of hot water. Free water bottles and nespresso cups in the room, free espresso machine usage in the lobby area. Just… Read more

The hotels was a perfect place to start and end our day. Although the location was convienient, it was quite and away from the hustle and bustle of the city when we needed to relax. We were always welcomed with a smile and staff was very helpful. Rooms were beautiful and felt like home.

It was walking distance from our cruise ship, and we loved staying in the lower part of Old Quebec, away from the crowds of upper Old Quebec over by the Frontenac Hotel/Tourist Center. We were just a few minute's walk from the Funiculare which saved you about a 400 step walk up. There were restaurants, shops, galleries surrounding the hotel. The staff was very nice, a generous continental breakfast was done well (it was included in our package pricing), and the hotel had a modern vibe. We did not utilize the wine/liquor bar where you self serve, but a cool idea. Our view of upper Old Quebec was really pretty, we were on the top floor. The only disappointment was the comfort/cleanliness of the room. The mattress felt cheap and my husband's side actually creaked (he's not a big man). The maid only dusted areas you could see, behind the TV, etc. needed a little attention. Turn down service was forgotten on our first night. For an upscale hotel these details should matter. Hotel 71 is committed to making your visit to Quebec City a memorable one. The service was outstanding and the staff was knowledgeable and courteous . Our suite was well-appointed and comfortable and quiet. We did have a room with a view of the St. Lawrence River, however there were cruise ships dock and we could not see it.
