Very nicely updated hotel with a terrific rain shower. Rooms, look out over the seaway, at least if you book one of those rooms. The Italian restaurant on site, Il Matto, has good food and good, but a touch slow, service. It’s an easy walk to the rest of lower town or to upper town. The city is amazingly clean and a very pretty “old world“ type of… Read more

We recently stayed at Hotel 71 for 3 nights. The hotel is located in an old bank building, but decorated in a contemporary fashion inside. The staff was very helpful in directing us to restaurants and neighborhoods throughout the city. The room was a very nice size and comfortable. The shower was great as well. We were given an upgrade to find ourselves on the last floor of the hotel just below what seem to be the air conditioning fans. Needless to say we had a hard time sleeping. We complained the next day and they say that was strange and said they would check. They sent a technician while we had breakfast who says there was no noise. So, of course,… Read more

We complained the next day and they say that was strange and said they would check. They sent a technician while we had breakfast who says there was no noise. So, of course, they imply we invented the noise. Furthermore, what is supposed to be an excellent breakfast, turns out to be very average. We asked to change the croissants for toasts for which they asked for an extra 5$. Insane to pretend to be a top hotel and be so cheap in their attitude. Will not be back Read less

We were introduced to the hotel by our business travel guide. It could not have been a better location. We were able to squeeze in a ride on the hotel bikes up to the falls and walked the old city outside our door. From the initial reception to concierge’s to housekeeping in the restaurant servers the staff was excellent. We couldn’t recommend… Read more
