The staff are absolutely wonderful. Very welcoming and kind. I appreciated the room assignment on a high floor with a view of the city, mountains, and partial view of the river. The rooms are a nice size with plenty of storage and average size bathroom. The room and public areas are kept clean and refreshed. There’s an indoor pool with plenty of towels. Right next to the pool is a gym overlooking the street with a variety of cardiovascular equipment, free weights, a multi-use exercise machine, stretch mats, and Swiss ball. There are hand towels, apples, and water in the gym. The Wi-Fi throughout the property was fast and even though the lobby like the rest of the hotel has a minimalist vibe, it had a warm atmosphere with a fireplace, pool table, and computers for guests to use. There’s also a variety of shopping, restaurants, pharmacy, can supermarkets nearby. If you plan to walk to the old city, it will take you approximately 15 to 20 minutes with some hills. There are also some nice neighborhoods to explore that are near the hotel that are not part of the old city. I highly recommend this property! Read less

Situated on the outskirts of the old city, it’s about a 5km walk away. The hotel is clean and staff are friendly but not in your face. Table restaurant is excellent with quality food and service and the little cafe attached to hotel serves food all day and is very reasonable. Toast with tea is about $6. There’s only a coffee machine in the room, no microwave so if you need to make a cup of tea, you need to ring down for a kettle. Paper cups are used so it’s not very environmentally friendly and only limited provided in the room. It’s ok for short stays. Nothing fancy. Read less

We stayed for a week during a recent vacation & were relocated here as there had been a fire at The Clarendon, resulting in it's closure for refurbishment etc. Although pleasant the hotel is out of town & the stroll to town is entirely uphill. It takes around half an hour. So, you have to be reasonably fit to manage the walk. One section is so steep that there is an elevator, although this is not operational for 24hrs a day. The staff were lovely - all really friendly & helpful. The Breakfast in the Hotel was excellent & decent value. There is an independant coffee shop on the ground floor & the adjacent street has loads of interesting shops, cafe's & restaurants - which was a real bonus as it meant we did'nt have to walk in to town all the time. The hotel has apprently been refurbished recently & although comfortable the rooms are small (ish) and the decor similar to a U.K. Travelodge. Whislt this is fine, it's not necessarily what you'd expect from a Four Star Hotel. The panoramic views from the window of the room were brilliant though. Our overall impression was that we found it a little dissapointing, although we might have just expected a little too much from this hotel It's nice, clean, comfortable etc - but if you're looking for a Four Star hotel then its probably best looking elsewhere & unless you're really quite fit/active, it's pretty challenging to actually get into the centre of town. We will most definately visit the lovely city of Qubec again, but we'd rather stay somewhere else next time. Read less

Centrally located in Quebec City, the hotel has onsite parking. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk lady who pointed us to the surrounding areas and attractions. Our bedroom with a king size bed is located on the 16th floor. The room is immaculately clean, crisp bedsheets and bed is very comfortable. I couldn’t ask for more.

Great staff, loved the exercise area and updated rooms with plenty of outlets for powering devises. Close to a wide selection of eateries from coffee/ tea shops; bread/ pastry shops; cheese shop to die for; and restaurants from bar - walk in areas to sit down meals that are incredible (but require reservations). Sensitive to handicapped needs, hotel Pur provided shower chair for me and helped select activities and locations which are more handicapped access. I would book here again in a heartbeat! Read less
