Marriott Quebec City Downtown

Quebec City, Canada

The hotel

Promising that French ‘je ne sais quoi’, this downtown hotel is totally in keeping with Quebec’s unique French-Canadian mélange. Once you step inside, its elegant lobby would be at home in a sleek Parisian boutique hotel — while the simply dressed guestrooms come with mod-cons befitting a contemporary pad in one of east coast Canada’s most dynamic cities. The dining is just as diverse, with breakfasts featuring Canadian, American and Continental options — while its signature dining venue, Que Sera Sera, lives up to its name with a French bistro-inspired menu. Its location puts you in touch with the city’s French and Canadian roots too, right by Place d’Youville, Quebec City Marriott Downtown is just steps from Porte Saint-Jean, one of the historic and much-photographed gateways to quirky but charming Old Québec.

Stayed here at the tail end of the summer festival. Very small hotel with only one restaurant (we did not visit it). Great location; walkable to all areas of Old Quebec. Clean. Room was very basic. Not what I am used to with Marriott. Very hard to get to with all the construction in the area.

We were greeted on arrival by the valet, he took care of our car and we made it inside and were greeted by the concierge. After answering a few questions we had, we were greeted by the front desk staffs and check in was a breeze. The front staffs were really nice, attentive to your demands and always went the extra mile to acknowledge you on your way in or out. The room was amazing, we had one of the corner suite, it was spacious, super clean and the decor was quite modern. The bed was really comfortable and the large shower was super nice. This hotel location was perfect, minimal walking required to most of the major events in Old Quebec. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to all the staffs for making our stay so welcoming. Great service and very friendly staff. Nice large and comfortable quiet room. Great location walkable to all parts of old city. I'm taking away one star because breakfast never came when I had ordered the night before.

The Quebec City Marriott Downtown needs to be reclassified as a Marriott Courtyard and decrease cost. My room was $333/night & yes, it was the height of tourist season. The rooms are basically the same as some Courtyards. The rooms were good and beds comfortable. I had free WIFI, but only because I am a Gold level member. At these prices including WIFI should be a given for everyone. The room amenities (paper coffee cups and coffee/tea) are pathetic. We didn't even bother to try to make coffee. The cost for a $2.50 bottle of FIGI water in-room was $7.00. It isn't the point of whether someone can afford it. This type of mark up is insulting to a consumers intelligence. We were encouraged to hang up our towels, but there was only one towel bar & it was in the shower/tub space. There was no pool or gym or sauna. The lounge area is very basic. Not even a continental breakfast was included. The staff was pleasant and professional. The concierge team tried their best to be helpful with information. The local maps provided were not the best, since some streets were missing on the map which made it more complicated on our first foray into Vieux Quebec when trying to find the right way back. We made it back to the hotel. :) Later, when I mentioned this there was no solution. Our exploration of your wonderful city over our 3 days was enjoyable and fascinating. The HOP-ON HOP-OFF bus was a great way to visit a variety of sites, and get our bearings. We would have appreciated more detailed advice on where to eat & quality of food on offer. Quebec City is beautiful filled with historic memorable venues. Our biggest regret is that we didn't have more time available to us to stay longer. I will certainly be back to your marvelous city, but not at the Marriott. The biggest draw for the Quebec City Marriott Downtown was the location just outside the old town wall,at St. Jean, which was perfect. Our absolute best place for a healthy lunch was the Baguette & Chocolat - 36, Côte de la Fabrique. Read less

The hotel is located at the wall of old Quebec. Very convenient to everything. The staff is great, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I was really impressed by the staff’s dedication and willingness to help. Can’t beat the location of the hotel.
