Marriott Quebec City Downtown

Quebec City, Canada

The hotel

Promising that French ‘je ne sais quoi’, this downtown hotel is totally in keeping with Quebec’s unique French-Canadian mélange. Once you step inside, its elegant lobby would be at home in a sleek Parisian boutique hotel — while the simply dressed guestrooms come with mod-cons befitting a contemporary pad in one of east coast Canada’s most dynamic cities. The dining is just as diverse, with breakfasts featuring Canadian, American and Continental options — while its signature dining venue, Que Sera Sera, lives up to its name with a French bistro-inspired menu. Its location puts you in touch with the city’s French and Canadian roots too, right by Place d’Youville, Quebec City Marriott Downtown is just steps from Porte Saint-Jean, one of the historic and much-photographed gateways to quirky but charming Old Québec.

The room key stopped working on the next day. Breakfast you have to pay for members. It was an unpleasant stay. Avoid next time. Read less

The front desk personnel and concierge were all charming and pleasant and the two young ladies working the restaurant for breakfast were pleasant as well. That's where the enjoyable experience ended. As a Bonvoy platinum member I expected better. To start, my room's view was an air shaft. A photo of the view is attached. There is no lounge, so they comp you by giving 10 dollar certificates for use in their restaurant. I believe that most members using a hotel lounge do so to enjoy a drink before dinner. The compensation certificate offered is only good for food, not drink. In addition, it's only offered weeknights. For the foregoing reasons, the certificate is therefore worthless. On the 2nd day of our 4 night stay, our beds were made up, the towel refreshed, and NO toiletries provided. The room has a nice grey wood, or wood patterned tile, floor. Nice until I realized that my white socks had turned grey from walking on it. It seems that the floor is not cleaned that often. There is a continental breakfast, as promised. If you want anything hot, like eggs, potatoes, or sausage, it will be $8 extra. All things considered, I will stay at the Hilton 1 block away the next time I'm in Quebec Read less

This Marriott property is exceptionally well located and the staff are just amazing! Emilie, the front desk manager, went all out to accommodate changing our reservations due to bad weather and she ensured a wonderful stay to celebrate my mom's birthday. I certainly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Quebec.

Housekeeping clearly work very hard. Loved having Netflix on the TV. Great location, we walked everywhere! Loads of places within minutes walk to eat and drink (go up the side streets as well as the main road). A taxi to the airport is around $35 and takes 20 minutes. The only downside was the bathroom door (in my opinion). It was a sliding door but the floor bracket wasn’t attached so it was basically a large cat flap. The only problem with this is that there’s limited privacy- I could see the sink/mirror from the unsealed gap from my side of the bed. As there is a gap around the door, you can also hear everything so just bear this in mind when booking. Read less

The Marriott is outside the old city wall but is right there in the heart of the action. The bed was super comfortable big screen tv and very clean bathroom. What more do you need. Didn’t eat there but there are so many choices near by its great. The staff is great and parking is right there at a slight extra.
