Marriott Quebec City Downtown

Quebec City, Canada

The hotel

Promising that French ‘je ne sais quoi’, this downtown hotel is totally in keeping with Quebec’s unique French-Canadian mélange. Once you step inside, its elegant lobby would be at home in a sleek Parisian boutique hotel — while the simply dressed guestrooms come with mod-cons befitting a contemporary pad in one of east coast Canada’s most dynamic cities. The dining is just as diverse, with breakfasts featuring Canadian, American and Continental options — while its signature dining venue, Que Sera Sera, lives up to its name with a French bistro-inspired menu. Its location puts you in touch with the city’s French and Canadian roots too, right by Place d’Youville, Quebec City Marriott Downtown is just steps from Porte Saint-Jean, one of the historic and much-photographed gateways to quirky but charming Old Québec.

The Marriott is outside the old city wall but is right there in the heart of the action. The bed was super comfortable big screen tv and very clean bathroom. What more do you need. Didn’t eat there but there are so many choices near by its great. The staff is great and parking is right there at a slight extra.

Nice hotel with very comfortable room with all the amenities - TV, desk, fridge, hair dryer, iron, board, safe. Bed was very comfortable too. The hotel is not big by some of the other name brand standards so it seemed more cozy. I was on business and this hotel was close to the client as well as the Quebec parliament building. The only negative thing was the price, very expensive but there was the film festival going on as well as Celine Dion's world tour kick-off and it was the week after the cycling grand prix so rooms were scarce and Quebec City tends to be very pricey when they have big events going on. Being close to the walled city made finding restaurants very easy and the concierge was very helpful in making suggestions and reservations. Read less

I cannot more highly recommend this location for being able to walk nearly everywhere. There is only one elevator, which made waiting a little bit inconvenient, but not annoying. The room was just right. The breakfast has two levels. One is continental, and the other is for the full buffet. One must pay extra for the full buffet. I returned back… Read more

I returned back from a lengthy tour, and decided to dine in the restaurant, and the food was tasty and the portions were ample. Everyone was most helpful, from the concierge to the front desk, to the servers in the restaurant, to the doorpersons. I will absolutely stay there again, should my travels take me back! Read less

Nice lodgings with all conveniences, restaurant and bar just steps from theater and the cute historic walled city. Check in was simple, choice of valet vs public garage car parking. We decide that the public garage at $18 Canadian was a much better deal for us as we planned to walk everywhere while in Quebec anyway. The room looked recently… Read more

Bathroom had a shower with sliding glass doors and was perfect. Read less

We have stayed here before. This time the rooms have been renovated. Our room was beautiful. Despite this being part of a chain, its charming staff made it feel more like a boutique hotel. The old city is a block away, and it’s fun to meander around the cobblestone streets to our favorite restaurants. Next time we are here, I’ll brush up on my French, to speak to the charming Québécois. They are more forgiving of foreign Francophiles muddling through college French than les Parisiennes, or so it seems. Au revoir! Read less
