Excellent hotel. comfy beds, roomy bathrooms, great food. Nice views of lake, mountains and marina from restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and accomodating. Good quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of town but still close.

We’d booked & paid for 3 nights in a lakeview room. We don’t consider ourselves overly demanding customers, but we do have a few standard requests to improve our stay based on experience. When we checked-in the room was on the ground floor which isn’t our preference as we like to keep a window open. The front desk staff made a real effort, showing us an alternative room, but because the hotel was so busy could offer no alternative for our first night. However, they still checked other options for the rest of our stay & were able to offer us something more to our taste for the rest of our stay. Given how little some other hotels care once your money is in their bank, this really impressed. Our second room was fabulous, just what we’d wanted & it made all the difference to our stay. We stayed for one night on our drive west - eventually back to Vancouver. The resort is easy to find with a SatNav and it is right on the water side. There is free parking outside the hotel - do not be confused and leave you car in the pay zone next door. The reception area is large but a little dark. We stayed for one night on our drive west - eventually back to Vancouver. The resort is easy to find with a SatNav and it is right on the water side. There is free parking outside the hotel - do not be confused and leave you car in the pay zone next door. The reception area is large but a little dark. Check in was easy and our room was ready so that we could check in early. Our room was on the ground floor along a long dark corridor. There was no natural light and it is decorated in browns - it was not very inviting. Our room was quite large. It had two queen beds and a door onto the patio. There are wooden shutters on the windows and everything is decorated in dark colours. The room was quite dark but okay when you opened the shutters. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a shower over the bath. Once again the decoration was quite dark and the lighting was insufficient. The water in the pipes is noisy and the heating is controlled centrally - so if you feel cold you cannot turn it up. There are pleasant views into the bay and down to the bridge. The resort is on the edge of downtown and there can be some quite steep walks to get into downtown. It was comfortable and did the job. Read less

Very good hotel, excellent restaurant, can't beat the view, right on the lake. Staff are pleasant, good visit overall. Close to downtown if you are a mountain goat (Nelson is quite hilly) We happened to visit during a large car show, which was excellent. We enjoyed our stay.

On a road trip through the BC interior was a nice relaxing break from the road. On the cool side to enjoy the patio but a window seat in the Restaurant gave views of the harbour, mountains and down the valley to the bridge
