Walnut Beach Resort

Osoyoos, Rural British Columbia

The hotel

The hottest spot in Canada is home to one of its hottest lakeside hotels — the super-luxe Walnut Beach Resort. Along the private sands of Palapa Beach, which are washed by the waters of Lake Osoyoos, this design-conscious hotel looks out over the lake from its Sun Arbour Pool Terrace to its Vista Point Grill’s al fresco dining patio. Around the hotel, you’ve got glorious golf courses, family fun at Rattlesnake Canyon amusement and water park, snowsports in the distant mountains, and cultural centres and museums — but back at Walnut Beach Resort, it’s all about the water, whether you’re swimming in the lakefront pool, soaking in the two hot tubs, heading out for water sports from the hotel’s dock, or just dining with a lake view after cooking up a storm at the barbecue area, with its stainless steel grills.

Our room had a gorgeous view and the beds were comfortable. I was a little worried about booking times for the pool but it made the pool less busy and more enjoyable. There was also lots of last minute availability for the pool. The private beach was a clean and there were lots of chairs available. Being a little further away from the town meant that we weren’t as close walking distance to other amenities but we preferred how quiet it was on that side of the lake. We will definitely stay here again. Read less

Disappointed experience… resort is lacking amenities that kept us returning every year. We visit every July and this year was a major disappointment. Restaurant is horrible. The menu is limited to a handful of items and closed 2 days of the week. It’s overpriced and not good. The resort kicked out the boat rental facility this year. So now… Read more

The menu is limited to a handful of items and closed 2 days of the week. It’s overpriced and not good. The resort kicked out the boat rental facility this year. So now you need to go to the other side of the lake to rent boats. Very disappointed and will consider other places in the future. Read less

This resort is by far the best there is. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out everything and everyone was top notch. The pool was clean and the beach was the exceptional. So close to the town

We just returned from a stay at Walnut Beach resort. After reading previous reviews, I told my husband that we would "go and make the best of it", but wow were we surprised. The rooms are beautiful and well stocked with all the dishes etc that you need. The view from our balcony was beautiful. We have two kids, 2 and 5. The pool was great with plenty of chairs to accommodate guests. The beach was beautiful, but our kids opted for the pool. The beach in a bit rocky for the first couple of metres, but not sharp. They are obviously short staffed, like the rest of the hospitality industry right now. You will wait for a drink and the snack bar by the pool is under construction. With that said, we happily packed our own cooler and there was never any questions asked. Staff were very friendly always. We LOVED this resort and would return in a heart beat. Read less
