Walnut Beach Resort

Osoyoos, Rural British Columbia

The hotel

The hottest spot in Canada is home to one of its hottest lakeside hotels — the super-luxe Walnut Beach Resort. Along the private sands of Palapa Beach, which are washed by the waters of Lake Osoyoos, this design-conscious hotel looks out over the lake from its Sun Arbour Pool Terrace to its Vista Point Grill’s al fresco dining patio. Around the hotel, you’ve got glorious golf courses, family fun at Rattlesnake Canyon amusement and water park, snowsports in the distant mountains, and cultural centres and museums — but back at Walnut Beach Resort, it’s all about the water, whether you’re swimming in the lakefront pool, soaking in the two hot tubs, heading out for water sports from the hotel’s dock, or just dining with a lake view after cooking up a storm at the barbecue area, with its stainless steel grills.

Was I impressed. I booked a studio lakeview room. Had no idea it had a kitchenette! We had an amazing view and everyone was very friendly. Our housekeeping staff even left a thank you note for the tip we left; never had that happen before (and the tip was standard, nothing outrageous.) The only downside, and keep in mind that I would come back and stay again - no breakfast option and nothing really around in walking distance. I would have planned better, had I known that; especially with the kitchenette. Also, it is VERY family friendly. Maybe because we were there in August, but with two hot tubs, it might be nice to have one be adults only. There were times we wanted to go just relax and that can't always be done with kids jumping and yelling at the hot tub. Minor downsides, but again - I would stay here next time. Read less

Asked if there was service on the patio & was told Yes however never came. This is not a high rated resort & I should have stayed at the Holiday Inn up the street at 1/3 the price. You get a Million dollar view with 1 dollar service & Food. So disappointed as had high expectations. Read less

Always a pleasure staying with Walnut Beach. Normally here in September so a different vibe in August , but my husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Dinner on the patio was wonderful and our server did a really nice job in engaging us.

Our family has stayed at many resorts over the years. Walnut Beach Resort exceeded our expectations. Our room was modern in appearance and our master bedroom was fantastic. We have two teenagers and absolutely no complaints from either during our week. Each had their own space in the room. The washer a dryer was so convenient. Those traveling with kids will also appreciate each room had it's own wireless network, so no slow or disrupted internet. This allowed me to work at night while kids could watch movies and use devices without issue. Pool and Beach were busy everyday, but plenty of room and loungers for everyone. Can not wait to return.
