The Sutton Place Hotel Revelstoke

Revelstoke, Rural British Columbia

The hotel

It may have all the ‘mountain escape’ essentials, from a ski-in/ski-out location to cosy fires and wood and stone inspired décor, but The Sutton Place Hotel in Revelstoke Mountain Resort delivers a different take on ski holidays. Completely contemporary, this luxury condo hotel is a high-gloss twist on the traditional lodge, with a swanky outdoor pool and hot tub overlooking Monashee Mountains, a fitness centre, the Feather & Stone Day Spa, and four dining options. Rockford wok | bar | grill unites traditional tastes with wok-fired dishes; Mackenzie Common Tavern gives an authentic après-ski experience; and La Baguette brings you pastries and paninis, sandwiches and smoothies, and homemade gelato and groceries-to-go. But it’s Revelation Lodge that steals the show: welcoming you for breakfast up in the mountains, it’s perfect before slope-side sports — or riding the thrilling Pipe Mountain Coaster.

As close as you can get to the lift. Soak in the hot tub outside after skiing or boarding. One of the most quite hotel rooms I've stayed in. This is a very nice place to stay for all of us who want everything close by the slopes. Friendly and service minded staff. Ask for Bjorn for all your ski rental needs, he is a very friendly and helpful ski… Read more

I have stayed here in the summer and now the winter. Beautiful hotel with condo style rooms, lovely balconies where in the summer we ate daily, and this winter enjoyed the New Year’s Eve fireworks. Underground heated parking and lovely heated outdoor pool and hot tubs. I’ve stayed in and recommend the two bedroom suite and the one bedroom suite with den. This last time I stayed in a one bedroom suite and can say with the couch being used as a bed (it’s a sleeper sofa) the room felt tiny. For whatever reason the sink in the one bedroom suite is the size of a minibar sink. That makes it hard to wash your dishes. The shower in the one bedroom suite was also so small I continually brushed the lever on the faucet and got a cold or hot surprise. None of these are issues with the larger rooms. My only other gripe was that there really is no ski valet. I lugged my skis from the second floor (where the slopes are) to the first floor where the ski locker was in the parking garage. Not a big deal, but it wasn’t the most convenient arrangement. Maybe that would have been different in another building? At any rate, for the convenience of staying slope side, the price (at least when comparing to Whistler), you have to love this place. Read less

The ski in and out feature is a real bonus, giving us the advantage of getting an early start to the day to get a few fresh lines. Overall we found the staff very helpful and would highly recommend the hotel. Read less

I did not stay at The Sutton Place, but worked with the concierge to put together a surprise for a friend while he was there over his 60th birthday. There are three hot tubs and a large pool, underground parking, a nice hotel lobby, and ski lockers (although there's nowhere to sit to put on your boots). Since the resort base is pretty small, you're literally steps away from the gondola. The staff is very welcoming. Now for the cons: there should be at least twice as many elevators, the main restaurant is very average, the hotel is gigantic and the signage isn't always great. Read less
