Coast Sundance Lodge

Sun Peaks, Rural British Columbia

The hotel

The two top ski lifts in Sun Peaks Resort sit just behind Coast Sundance Lodge — giving you speedy access to the slopes, and to hiking, biking, and other al fresco fun. A ski-in/ski-out sanctuary, in Canada’s second biggest ski resort, it sits on the quieter fringe of the village but still only moments from its shopping, dining, and entertainment scene — and the first tee of Sun Peak Resort’s 18-hole golf course is just across the road. You don’t have to leave the lodge to dine, with your guestroom’s kitchen area, Vertical Café’s delicious meals, Bolacco Café’s tempting breakfasts and lunches, and Bottoms Bar & Grill’s home-pressed burgers and local microbrew. You don’t have to step outside to relax either, with its complimentary WiFi access and movie channels, a fitness centre, and a super-sized hot tub with ski slope views.

Room was around 25C all night, they are obviously aware of the issue as they had set up 3 fans (two of which rattled) in the room prior to our arrival. The front desk explained the entire side of the hotel overheats to uncomfortable levels, nothing they could do. The front desk explained the entire side of the hotel overheats to uncomfortable levels, nothing they could do. We visited on a day where the outside temperature never went above 15C, can’t imagine how horrible this place would be in summer. Maybe start by leaving the windows open during the day prior to check in so the room has a chance to cool? Or since the hotel was 20% full find the 20% coolest rooms to use? Read less

We booked the hotel by phone. Saw the price was $126 online, called they said price is now $156.Looked at credit card bill and they charged us $176. The staff were ok, not friendly or helpful. The toilet wouldn't flush until you held on to it through the whole process. The tub filled up to our knees while showering and then you noticed a tub ring. So the bathroom was not clean! We were standing in someone else filth! The TV was broken. We booked a room for three people. The room came with two glasses, two sets of towels. There was no bottle opener and cups were chipped. The walls are so thin, every time someone shut a door we heard it very loud. Woke us all up many times with banging doors. Not the other guests fault. Just poorly built. The elevator makes a screaming noise when reaching the fourth floor and then gives us a hard shake when it stops. The girl at the desk was helpful in sending us to a restaurant with tiny portions and so over priced. Very disappointed!!! We will never go back! Becareful on their billing! They lie! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating A great place to stay

I loved that all the rooms have a kitchenette. They are very specious also. The Coast Sundance Lodge is located in a central spot and walking distance to everything. And off season rates are very affordable. Mountain views, walking paths, friendly staff. A overall great place to stay and would definitely stay again.

Hotel was clean and spacious and allowed us to easily access our private event happening just behind the hotel. The view from the hotel was beautiful and the village as a whole is very charming and unique. The staff was unbelievably accommodating when our event was cancelled and we had to cut our stay short last minute.

A lovely light, spacious room, we were in the clock tower. The staff were always very helpful and it was a great location. The bar served good food. Our stay was quiet but I can see in the busy season that it might be noisy from outside.
