Nancy Greene's Cahilty Hotel & Suites

Sun Peaks, Rural British Columbia

The hotel

You won’t just catch world-class skiers on the slopes at Sun Peaks — you’ll be their guest when you stay at Nancy Greene’s Cahilty Lodge & Suites, owned by the Olympic ski champion and her husband and Sun Peaks Mayor, Al Raine. An orientation tour of the resort’s three mountains means you’ll hit the slopes running (or skiing, or biking) straightaway and, on Sunday nights, Nancy and Al welcome you for a reception, sharing ski tips and the week’s weather forecast. They’ve created a real home to return to after days in the great outdoors, with a library with board games, free coffee in the lobby, movie nights with popcorn for little ones, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and the comfort food dished out in their Cahilty Creek Bar & Grill, all just steps from Sun Peaks Village.

We had a studio which came with a Murphy bed and sofa bed and small kitchen. The room was comfortable and efficient. Coffee pot was full sized and coffee was good. You could easily cook here. Underground parking fitted our pickup truck. The hot tub was nice and easy to access. The room was ready when we arrived at noon and the front desk clerk was… Read more

The room was ready when we arrived at noon and the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, telling us not to lose our parking spot as they would be in short supply later. Read less

The staff were nice and helpful (getting us an extra mug as there were three of us staying and only two mugs in the room) and the rooms were clean. Soap was provided but no body moisturiser or other little touches like make up removal that we’ve had in other hotels we’ve stayed at this trip. Also because we left our nightwear on top of the bed the… Read more

Also because we left our nightwear on top of the bed the staff left us a note saying they couldn’t make up the beds - no big problem, just a little baffling. Read less

Had never heard of Nancy Greene before we spent a night at the Cahilty Hotel. Lots of memorabilia of Nancy and winter Olympics in general adorn the hallways of the hotel. A comfortable night was spent at this hotel but we went elsewhere for a meal.

The accommodation is everything that you require but some off the appliances need to be upgraded . Had to switch off the oven at the switchboard due to the noise it was making. The eating choices around were limited to the places that were open. Sun peaks is an amazing place to visit

Stayed here over the Family Day weekend and boy do they jack the prices up for that weekend. For what we payed, this hotel is lacking. Decor is outdated, parking is way too limited, outside hot tub was lukewarm, inside hot tub was way too hot. Location is great, ski in and out and right in the village, short walk to everything. 2 queen rooms… Read more
