Delta Hotels By Marriott Kingston Waterfront

Kingston, Rural Ontario

The hotel

Sitting like the grandest yacht in Confederation Harbour, this slick hotel juts out into the marina to give you incredible views over bobbing boats. And the views stretch out towards St Lawrence River, which drifts down into Lake Ontario. In fact, you can see the water as you unwind in your guestroom, work out in the gym, relax at the indoor rooftop pool and hot tub, sip cocktails at The Vu, and dine at AquaTerra. Its prime waterfront spot doesn’t just bless this hotel with coveted views though; it also puts you close to the boutiques and restaurants of historic downtown Kingston. When your eyes can be turned away from the scenes outside, Delta Hotels by Marriott Kingston Waterfront rewards you with treats like complimentary WiFi and Aquaterra’s authentic Canadian menu.

First time in Kingston for us, passing through on a road trip to Ottawa and Quebec. We booked here because we liked the views of the lake, and from the pictures and sheer price we thought it would be an upmarket hotel.... WRONG..!! The reception is off a busy dirty car park, which is also the only way in and out of the hotel, you’ve got to walk down the car ramp, unheard of anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The rooms are fairly small, in need of renovation, and carpets I wouldn’t have in my garage... the place needs a major makeover, and it’s the same price as the new Marriott next door, that’s really rubbing salt into the wounds. We also found the rooms very noisy, we could hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms, and the constant slamming of rooms doors was incessant, plus load guests wandering back to their rooms after a few drinks. Trays of old room service food was constantly being left in the halls, unless I rang down ask staff to move them, that’s where they stayed all day it seemed. Sorry to say, we won’t be staying here again, it’s far to expensive for what it is, and certainly overpriced against newer hotels. Read less

We recently stayed at the hotel. We were extremely disappointed. The room was very noisy due to the air conditioner. We couldn't sleep without it on and then could not sleep with the noise. Hence, no sleep for the whole night. The price of the hotel was very high, we chose it because we assumed with the high price it would be luxury, we were so wrong. Paying over 400 dollars a night, one expects more than we received. The room was very small with just one chair to view the water. The bath had only two towels, so if one was used at night, it had to be reused in the morning with out a good place to hang it dry. We were so tired the next morning, due to not sleeping, we left without taking the boaT ride we had planned for Sunday. We do want to thank the sweet desk clerk who took off the one night parking fee. That was dear. She was not or could not be expected to erase the room charge, however the manager after being alerted could have done so. In short, our 50th Anniversary short weekend stay was a bust. Fridge and coffee-maker in room; no microwave. We didn't have time to use the pool, but the lounge chairs were nice. Gym is small with rubberized floors, cardio machines, exercise balls, free weights and a multi-purpose machine. Dining room and bar on-site. Starbucks coffee (my fave!) in the resto. Right on Lake Ontario and in the heart of the city. Check in was slow, but once it was our turn, the staff could not have been nicer! The only negative was other guests talking loudly and singing (!) in the hall early in the morning. (Reviewers who criticized this place for not letting children play and adults drink in the halls made me want to stay here more!) Read less

Really clean, comfortable hotel. Conveniently located for visiting Queens. Restaurant and facilities all good and easy to walk to attractions near the University. Parking at the hotel makes it even easier to get around town.
