Four Seasons Hotel Toronto

Toronto, Canada

The hotel

With an emphasis on luxury, the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto occupies a prime spot in Yorkville – well-known for being Toronto’s swankiest shopping district. This is five star luxury – with a quirky twist. Fusing modernity and retro, its sleek glazed exterior and chic spa and gym contrast with its 70s-esque blond and caramel woods; and with the tan and green leather banquettes of Café Boulud, where you can enjoy refined French-inspired bistro dishes. If you fancy simpler fare, Chef Boulud also designed the menu of d|bar, which captures the cool of its Yorkville setting, as seen through its six metre high windows or from the summer terrace. The view also steals the show through the floor-to-ceiling windows of your guestroom and through the window-wall lining the relaxation pool and whirlpool zone.

We stayed 3 nights after arriving in Canada. On the second night we went to have cocktails in the downstairs bar but found that it was occupied by a private event as part of the Toronto International Film Festival. There was no notice of the closure and no provision had been made to provide any alternative location. Disappointed, we went upstairs to the only restaurant for drinks and dinner, where there was a 'small plate' bar along with normal tables. The noise from the event below carried right up through to the restaurant, because the restaurant is above the bar on a mezzanine floor with two open sides, and we, like others dining there, had to shout to each other to converse. We complained and Arturo Alvarez, the Assistant Manager apologised for the disruption and the noise and provided some free canapes and a dessert. The next morning the F&B Director, Maxime Regad apologised again, explaining that he did not have a licence to re-allocate the event to another room, and gave us a free breakfast. Well, it's nice to get an apology and free food but frankly we would rather have had a cocktail in good surroundings and a dinner where we could speak normally to each other. Everywhere else in the hotel, outside of this poor experience, the staff where really friendly and the service and quality of the food etc., were excellent. The hotel is well situated and our room was very good. We would come back again, but we would check beforehand regarding future events in the bar. Read less

We stayed again at the Four Seasons Toronto. The concierge desk helped arrange dinner reservations about 1 month before our stay at some great restaurants (usually booked 3-4 weeks in advance). The front desk and reception staff were welcoming as always. Our room was lovely, the entire staff were welcoming and helpful.

This hotel has really spared no expense. A fantastic experience for those seeking a 5* experience. The spa facilities were great and the rooms were updated with great bedding and a fantastic view. The hotel bar is quite lively but there are plenty of options within walking distance.

My son got married at the hotel. It was truly a magical day and a beautiful experience. I can’t thank Lina and the Four Seasons Toronto staff enough. All of our guests had an incredible evening and the wedding pictures are outstanding with the hotel as the backdrop.

This hotel is an oasis in the best part of the city of Toronto. It doesn't get any better than this: the room, restaurant, atmosphere, serene surroundings and quality of sleep you get here. Huge bathroom big enough for two. Appreciated the design and detail everywhere. Beautiful place.
