Rooms were very well appointed and beds so comfortable!Plenty of room in the gym to workout and stretch out afterwards. What makes this boutique hotel stand out was the exceptional service. Two people who deserve a special mention are Gregory and Alexxa. Both spent the time to ensure my stay was very comfortable, recommendations for site- seeing including the “Edge-walk” and Alexxa providing a comprehensive list of restaurants, activities etc. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel for cleanliness of rooms, location and above all impeccable and friendly service by all. I have stayed at the Alt Hotel in Ottawa a few times and I think it is terrific. The staff there, starting with the General Manager, are particularly welcoming and helpful. There is usually a welcome card from the General Manager and bottled water. At Le Germain Maple Leaf Square which is a higher end property of the Germain group, my (first) experience has been satisfactory but nothing more. Yes no card and no bottled water. The breakfast food is nothing special and the restaurant menu for lunch and dinner has a limited menu. Do not order dessert. For a hotel company that prides itself on its Quebec roots, I found the food average and the desserts pretty awful. The staff are competent but I haven’t experienced the kind of special service that other reviewers have noted. I agree that the rooms are very comfortable and that the hotel is well-located, but my overall assessment is that this hotel is not special. It gets a lot of business because of its location. We were so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Had great reviews, but you never know. The reviews don’t lie. Awesome room, kind staff at check in and room service, along with an incredible shower and amazing bed. Great breakfast too. Will stay here again!

We picked this hotel because of its location next to Scotiabank Arena and close to Rogers Centre. The location is wonderful, but we were overwhelmed by the accommodations and the level of service we received. We spent 5 nights and the level of service never waivered. Everyone we met from the front desk, to the bar, to breakfast to housekeeping were helpful and friendly. The accommodations were superb. We had a suite and the room was well designed and the linens and Moulton Brown toiletries wonderful. The bar in the lobby is very good for drinks and small plates. Service was great and the cocktails finely crafted. Breakfast was very good every morning with a nice selection and excellent service. Downtown tourist sites are within easy walking distance and Union Station is across the street. We had some issues with Maple Leafs tickets and Gregory the concierge went above and beyond to help resolve the problem. We also liked that this hotel is smaller so it was easy to get around and it was quiet. If I could give this hotel and staff 10 stars I would. Read less

First time staying here and we were very impressed. Customer service was fantastic, everything was very clean. You can’t beat the location. We stayed in the room with 2 queen beds and it was very roomy and had all the convenices you would need. We will be staying here again for sure.
