Prestige Oceanfront Resort

Sooke, Vancouver Island

The hotel

Proud and stately, Prestige Oceanfront Resort is no retiring wallflower, welcoming you with its ostentatious columns, grand balconies, waterside setting, and elegant lounge filled with plush furnishings and a glitzy chandelier. Its equally decadent waterfront patio is decked out with fire pits, so you can sit out long into the evening and enjoy the hotel’s views, which stretch out over Sooke Harbour, Sooke Basin, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. To go with hotel essentials like complimentary WiFi access and a 24-hour fitness centre, they’ve laid on an indoor pool and hot tub; the suitably indulgent Le Sooke Spa; complimentary sightseeing treats like bike hire and beach toys; and two dining options — the chic West Coast Grill and the sports-themed Vault Lounge, with its gourmet pub grub menu.

Jokingly it was our short honeymoon/ Jacob at the front desk was very professional and helpful throughout and giving directions to local things to do. One of which was Zip Lining which we did the next day. Our accommodation was terrific and our walk to Whiffin Spit was amazing. We had dinner at the hotel food and service great and live music was a treat. We do a fair bit of traveling and must say this hotel rates high on our list in so many categories. Will definitely revisit and will highly recommend to our friends. Read less

While Sooke was further away then I expected the hotel was in a great setting and the food quality, combined with attentive staff made it worth the drive. The BW vs. Prestige hotels was a bit confusing but it gave me the option to choose which loyalty program I wanted to support

The building is breath taking, very clean, and very friendly staff. The room was nice, nothing super special, except for the shower which was huge with 2 shower heads. However, we were really looking forward to spending most of our time relaxing in their fire pits, pool, and hot tub. The fire pits weren't working, the pool was really cold, the… Read more

However, we were really looking forward to spending most of our time relaxing in their fire pits, pool, and hot tub. The fire pits weren't working, the pool was really cold, the only thing working fine was the hot tub. The pool area needs a lot of work too. I think for what you pay, you should at least have all the ameinites working alright. Read less

Great place to stay in Sooke. Room was spacious well furnished, comfortable. Staff was excellent. We used this as a base to ride the Galloping Goose trail. We had good meals in The Vault and the West Coast Grill and would recommend both. Everyone was very helpful.

The lobby and grounds are reminiscent of an opulent era and are beautiful. Having said that, the natural setting is relatively undeveloped and has it's own beach, to my amazement. Our room had 14 foot ceilings and the bed was fantastic. This has the best of both worlds, luxury amidst natural pristine beauty on oceanfront with wilderness nearby. By… Read more

Our room had 14 foot ceilings and the bed was fantastic. This has the best of both worlds, luxury amidst natural pristine beauty on oceanfront with wilderness nearby. By wilderness I mean (seriously) being stalked by a cougar for 30 minutes on a popular well groomed and utilized trail nearby. That was very scary and so we were thankful for the beautiful hotel grounds to hang out on after that. Read less
