Prestige Oceanfront Resort

Sooke, Vancouver Island

The hotel

Proud and stately, Prestige Oceanfront Resort is no retiring wallflower, welcoming you with its ostentatious columns, grand balconies, waterside setting, and elegant lounge filled with plush furnishings and a glitzy chandelier. Its equally decadent waterfront patio is decked out with fire pits, so you can sit out long into the evening and enjoy the hotel’s views, which stretch out over Sooke Harbour, Sooke Basin, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. To go with hotel essentials like complimentary WiFi access and a 24-hour fitness centre, they’ve laid on an indoor pool and hot tub; the suitably indulgent Le Sooke Spa; complimentary sightseeing treats like bike hire and beach toys; and two dining options — the chic West Coast Grill and the sports-themed Vault Lounge, with its gourmet pub grub menu.

From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed! When we arrived we could tell it wasn't busy so we asked for a balcony, they were able to accommodate for a minimal fee. We could tell you it was well worth it. This property is nice and newer and kept in a very clean and safe state. The staff were all friendly and helpful, from the maintenance person to the yard workers, from the front desk to the housekeepers. The room was very nice and spacious and as we mentioned we had a beautiful deck overlooking the marina and inlet. We liked the option of "green rooms", we were there for 3 nights and chose the "no housekeeping" option and received a $20 voucher for the West Coast Grill, well worth it. Whenever we needed anything; towels, soaps, or anything, they were always accommodating. We will do the West Coast Grill on a separate review and can say the service and food were very good as well. The only knock on this trip (for us it was perfectly fine) but for those who will need the elevator, it will take a while as 1 of the elevators is out of service, I am guessing for COVID rules. All in all, the staff, the property, the experience at this resort was very good, we will recommend and will return. Thank you Prestige Oceanfront Sooke. Read less

While advertising that they were pet friendly on several booking sites, when I emailed to indicate my arrival time, they told me that, because I was travelling with my dog, they didn't have a room for me at the rate I booked. They offered me a rate $200.00 higher. Smells a bit like bait and switch to me.

Early February one of my girlfriends and I snuck away for a girls spa weekend. The Prestige is the prefect spot for a getaway. It's on the water, most rooms have incredible balconies, delicious restaurant and bar on site and the spa! There is really no reason to leave once you arrive. We arrived early (noon) our room was not ready yet which we expected. Our spa appointment was at 1:30pm. The lady at the front desk was amazing. She checked us in and we headed for lunch. About 20mins later she came and found us in the restaurant and gave us our keys. WOW we were not expecting to get our room that early. lunch was delicious as always. We also had dinner and drinks here. The food and drinks are always amazing. Don't forget a reservation if you are going on the weekends it can get very busy between locals and hotel guests. We had headed to our room, which was an oceanfront room. It was incredible. I have stayed here 10-12 times. So I know there are a lot of different layout and looks to the rooms. But far the Oceanfront rooms are my favourite. They are very spacious, well decorated and have all the amenities. There was even a really nice welcome basket waiting for us which included lots of local favourites, Smoked Salmon, wine, chocolate and many more treats! We got ready quickly and were off to the spa. It was very quiet, beautiful and relaxing. Some of the spa staff was awesome others were rude. I signed up for the 30 min steam shower, deep tissue massage with mini facial & a mud bath. I was taken to the steam shower first. Which was a room with a massage table and a steam shower in it. Which you would think this would be the room I would be in for my steam and massage. Nope. I got changed in this room and had the steam shower. The steam shower was very relaxing and just the right amount of time. Then one of the ladies came and got me I told her the robe they gave me will not close and she said that they fit small. Ok fair enough you only expect small people to come here. Didn't make me feel bad about myself at all. Most places they are way to big. so I had to wear my wet towel under my robe so I didn't show everything. Then I sat in the waiting room for 20 mins when my next treatment was schedule for right after. 20 mins in a wet towel ya I was not impressed. At 10 mins I tried to ask what was going on one of the staff members rolled her eyes and told me to just sit there and wait nothing else. at 20mins I asked to just leave how I was now freezing cold in my soaking wet towel and robe. Then all of a sudden they had time for me. The girl who did do my massage had been walking around for the whole 20 mins I was sitting there. Plus the room my massage was in was empty the whole time. The massage was amazing the facial was perfect which both happened in the same room. Then I was to gather all my belongings again to head to the 3rd room where I would have my mud bath. It was not like any other mud bath I have ever had. It was pretty much brown almost translucent water that just looked dirty. Please look at getting a locker room so guests who are paying a lot of money don't have to pack all their stuff with them from room to room and get robes that fit all sizes instead of having a chance to flash everyone there. Honestly, I love this hotel and will continue staying here but I might not return to the spa. It just came across very unprofessional. Read less

We stayed here as a family the past few nights. The resort was beautiful-room was clean and bright, with a sun deck that we were able to sit out on when it wasn’t raining. We had a great view of the water. We ate at the restaurant one night, and the service and food were excellent. Staff were friendly. We would return.

Four of us enjoyed drinks and a shared appetizer on the outside deck. Great view, plastic wind protection on railing kept wind down, staff helpful and friendly. Really nice afternoon experience for under $100.
