The hotel

We have stayed at this hotel for years now. Food in the resturant is amazing, service in resturant the used to be awesome now not so much. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, decor could use an update. Would be nice if the fire places worked. Views are incredible. This visit the hot tubs were under construction, so no hot tubbing.

We were lucky with the weather, and I ran and dived (dove?) into the surf both mornings we were there - that's one off the bucket list! We also saw a sunset over the Pacific from our balcony. A bunch of guests headed to the beach with their cameras for the one truly beautiful sunset we saw there. Do not underestimate the awe you will feel observing this phenomenon, especially with the waves rolling in. Mid expensive (CAD$350 a night total with taxes etc for a kitchenette room), but well worth it. We'll be going back there. Beach access is direct, and enjoyable, and the restaurant was OK, but better ones in town. We walked the beach 3 or 4 times, and it was Paradise. Read less

The cost is outrageous for some people. However, the prices are not the some for everyone yet they had similar rooms. The location is beautiful but pricing standards are not met. Be sure to keep your original reservation and do not make any changes as costs will increase.

Possible to drop bags next to the room block to avoid carrying luggage across the car park. Our room was on the 1st floor with a balcony. With microwave, fridge and coffee maker we could have stayed for longer. Balcony overlooked the ocean and beach was a 2 Min Walk through the hotel gardens. Unfortunately not enough time to check out the bar/restaurant as we were on the road at 9am the next morning. Highly recommended Read less

Amazing Experience!! My husband and I booked the Tin Wis to host our wedding (ceremony + reception) for a weekend in Mid-September. Upon arrival, we were greeted with an exceptional room and bottle of champagne. The views of Mackenzie Beach are amazing, and the rooms are very cozy. The entire vibe of the Tin Wis is laid back, but very professional at the same time. We enjoyed a beach fire the evening before the wedding which was a blast. The Events Manager, Lisa T, was an absolute delight to work with for the months leading up to the wedding and for the day-of. She is highly knowledgeable and ensured everything for our wedding went smoothly and as planned (as well as very on time). Her team of staff are equally attentive and the food/drinks were great, especially the West Coast Salmon! My husband and I would highly recommended this resort for a fun weekend getaway, or as a wedding venue; they knocked it out of the park!! It is a beautiful property and great value for the price! We are so glad we picked it as our venue and will most likely be returning for our anniversary! Read less
