The Oswego Hotel

Victoria, Vancouver Island

The hotel

A sophisticated space, The Oswego Hotel is an upmarket urban escape just a stroll from Victoria’s Inner Harbour and downtown delights. Oozing style through every inch, you can laze in the lounge with its comfy sofas and grey stone walls, unwind on the patio, or head into O Café and Bistro to drink and dine. By morning the bistro brings you breakfasts of Bond Bonds Bakery pastries, with your caffeine-fix courtesy of Bows & Arrows Coffee Roasters. Then, come evening, it dishes up sharing plates of local and foraged food, sometimes served up with live piano or jazz. Of course, you could simply retreat to your room, with its gourmet kitchen dressed in stainless steel, slate, and granite — and there’s always in-room dining if you’re no Nigella.

Due to covid, the restaurant had shortened hours so we didn’t get to try it. The downside is we were there for 3 hot days and there’s no a/c. There’s ceiling fans and a portable one too. Unfortunately the room was still really hot. Also because we had to leave the windows open, we could hear the seagulls all night long. It was quaint at first but the novelty wears thin pretty quickly. If they add a/c I would then rate it as a 4 or 4.5 star facility and definitely return. Read less

I was advised at check-in that there was no housecleaning due to covid-19 which was perfectly fine with me, and I could always just call them to get more toiletries or towels. The bed was comfortable and they had extra pillows in the closet! It was a quiet area, except for the seagulls which are everywhere and squawking 24/7. Most of all, the staff was professional, friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Read less

We stayed 3 nights at the Oswego hotel in Victoria in a one bedroom unit and were very impressed! Check in was a breeze and Front desk employees were behind plexiglass and all wearing a mask which made us feel that we had entered a hotel that was practicing safe Covid distance. Our room was spotless and light music was playing on a small stereo as we entered our room. The hotel does not have ac however, the ocean breeze kept the room nice and cool. We had oatmeal and cappuccinos at the bistro in the lobby in the morning and it was made with much love and care. Oatmeal had blueberries, chia seeds and maple syrup in it and was amazing. I will definitely use this hotel next time I visit Victoria and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, friendly and safe place to spend time while in Victoria Read less

Perfect place to stay in Victoria. Smaller hotel in James Bay. Very easy to get around, we hardly used our vehicle. Rooms are beautifully finished - we stayed in a queen suite with a fully stocked kitchen and a south facing balcony.
