The Oswego Hotel

Victoria, Vancouver Island

The hotel

A sophisticated space, The Oswego Hotel is an upmarket urban escape just a stroll from Victoria’s Inner Harbour and downtown delights. Oozing style through every inch, you can laze in the lounge with its comfy sofas and grey stone walls, unwind on the patio, or head into O Café and Bistro to drink and dine. By morning the bistro brings you breakfasts of Bond Bonds Bakery pastries, with your caffeine-fix courtesy of Bows & Arrows Coffee Roasters. Then, come evening, it dishes up sharing plates of local and foraged food, sometimes served up with live piano or jazz. Of course, you could simply retreat to your room, with its gourmet kitchen dressed in stainless steel, slate, and granite — and there’s always in-room dining if you’re no Nigella.

The hotel is amazing on all levels. Funky, quaint and easy to feel like you're at home. I would highly recommend staying here if you would like a romantic weekend get a way. Having a drink by the big fireplace was great.

I have stayed here a number of times before and I was so happy that I stayed here again! The small touches for me meant so much, as I was traveling alone with my dog. There was even a welcome card, a dog walking page, dog cookies, a dog bed, dog dishes and a pup clean up bag were all provided for my Jules.

The staff is wonderful and this is a hotel we will return to often. Read less

It's ok, but not great. Be aware of where your room is. Many of the rooms back onto a loud construction site directly behind the hotel. We awoke to a loud metal cutter running for over an hour at 730am on a Saturday. We asked the front desk clerk to ensure we were away from the construction and he was evasive and unwilling to change our room to… Read more

We awoke to a loud metal cutter running for over an hour at 730am on a Saturday. We asked the front desk clerk to ensure we were away from the construction and he was evasive and unwilling to change our room to the front of the hotel away from the construction site. The kitchen is poorly equipped. The hairdryer had something sticky on the handle, the finish of the dryer was worn and there was hair stuck to it. We took the dryer to the front desk and asked for a replacement and it finally showed up the next morning after my husband asked again. Read less

We had friends and family visiting. We all stayed for an evening out on the town. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and it’s location. Would highly recommend The Oswego to anyone looking for a nice, comfortable hotel in a great location.
