Having stayed at a few other JWMs in many countries, there is a sense of expectation about the brand. I stayed for 3 nights here. it is a new hotel in Vancouver. On arrival at the hotel after a 21 hr flight, there was no one at the front door to assist collecting luggage. I had to call in for assistance. Check-in was smooth as expected, and given a good spacious room with a view across the water. The lounge was simply pathetic - I just gave up on breakfast after the 1st morning. I think the breakfast offering needs substantial revamp. A basic question here is that what can JWM do better that 600 hotels down the road don't offer also..? Evening lounge was somewhat better, but noting impressive. Alcoholic drinks to be charged...? I suppose this is the new norm in north America. Overall, I noted well that the hotel executives took great pains to get my inputs at check-out. Read less

My wife and I stayed 1 night at the J.W. Marriott Parq in Vancouver and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Our room was not a 1 bedroom suite, but it was as big as a suite. Perfectly appointed, modern, stylish bathroom, super-comfortable bed and a sense of calm/privacy that you don't always get in a busy, downtown hotel (once you get away from the lobby, of course). Before we checked in, we had just driven over from a parking garage a couple of miles away, where my car had just had it's window smashed during a break and enter. Because we were parking in the Hotel's parking lot, I mentioned this woeful tale to the person checking us in and she told us she would send up a bottle of bubbly in the hopes that our day would get better. It definitely helped and the gesture was truly appreciated. Well done Parq Hotel! Read less

We arrived Christmas day for a few days and were upon check-in immediately recognized for Marriott Status and upgraded! Had room on high floor facing the river. Our room was spacious, with modern touches, and great Molton Brown products in the bathroom. In addition to two queen beds, we had a sofa which was great spacewise for our 2 teenage boys

This review is specifically for JW Marriott executive lounge. I stayed at the adjacent the Douglas hotel which shares the same lounge with JW. Both hotels are very new and well maintained. I like the modern design. Service is top tier among the hotels I’ve stayed in Canada. My review for other aspects like the room and checkin experience has been submitted to the Douglas hotel. Lounge The Douglas shares Lounge with JW Marriott next to it. It has been the best Lounge I’ve been in North America. It’s about the right size, with a good selection of snacks, food and drinks. Staff team is very professional. The service in lounge is the highlight during my stay. Rachael/Rachel (sorry if I misspelled) greeted me during my breakfast and her handwritten greeting card made my day as for loyal customer recognition (I’m Titanium and life time platinum). I highly appreciate her customer obsessions. Thank you Rachael for insisting the highest standard for the top Marriott brands. This executive lounge team is my favorite in North America, and I would say the level of service meets the already high bar as the top lounges in Asia. And certainly raising the lounge service bar in North America! The top tier service would make me come back to the Douglas and JW Marriott again whenever I’m back to Vancouver. Read less

This hotel is beautiful. If you get a room on the side of the false creek, which to me seems more like a small bay, it is amazing. I sat in the window and enjoyed the view every time we came back to the room. It is modern and seems new. There is a hop on hop off tour line very close which is all you need to get around the city. I sat in the window and enjoyed the view every time we came back to the room. It is modern and seems new. There is a hop on hop off tour line very close which is all you need to get around the city. It is not in the center of town but Vancouver is not that big. It is weird that it has a casino in it, but you really never see it because they have it on a separate floor. It may have been nice to stay in the city, but the view of the bay made up for that in spades. So relaxing. The room was awesome. We got 2 queen beds which is always hard to find. The morning breakfast for Platinum guests was great. I loved this place. Read less
