Our first room was not suitable so the reception were more than helpful to change it with courtesy and efficiency. I also want to mention the housekeeping on the 15th floor - she was so helpful to our needs, lovely lady.

My friend and I made a change in our travel plans a few days before booking rooms at the Metorpolitan. It was about availabity and the Marriot branding that drew us to this property. It's very tired decor wise. The furnishings as worn and there is a stale smell, though that could have been from the construction that is being done. The view was pretty, but the window sill area was quite dusty. The bed had a squeaky spring too. Everytime I moved it squeaked. I was in room 902 and it's a room that appeared be part of an adjoining suite configuration. At 1:30am, the guests in the adjacent room came back and were really loud and evidently confuse byt the room number markings as they tried to open my door instead of 901....while it's not necessarily the hotel's fault the rooms in this part of the floor seem to me marked poorly. The front desk staff was pleasant tnad efficient. I wouldn't say this is a bad spot to stay, but it definately needs updating beyond the elevators that are being replaced. Read less

Very bad odour in room, left window open for hours and did not help. Old and tired hotel, slow elevator. Would have left if not have pre-paid. Expensive, the cost does not match the quality. You would be much better off in holiday inn.... The agent advertised this as coal harbour, it’s by Georgia street and far from sea wall. Hope this would… Read more

Location is good being opposite the pacific centre and close to gas town, Canada place etc. Our room was on the 12th floor at the front and was extremely noisy, didn’t seem to be anything preventing street noise entering the room. Room and bathroom dated and no instructions for the safe which we figured out how to use. Used the diva restaurant for breakfast which was very expensive , when you have the full Canadian breakfast they charge extra if you have toast or help your self to fruit, even though the menu implies this is included if you upgrade from the continental. Extra cups of coffee were also charged for. Staff were friendly though. Staff in the main hotel were “functional” and lacking in any humour or friendliness. Read less

The room is okay. Over priced for what you get and might as well go to the Westin for what you pay. I reserved my room via Cisco and they provided horrible customer service. My key card didn’t work, the elevators were broken, and no one was ever at the front desk.
