Opus

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

Matching its moniker, Opus is a true masterpiece of a hotel — and it’s received rave reviews by every travel aficionado from Condé Nast to Forbes, who’ve stamped it with their coveted four star rating every year from 2013 to 2017 (the only Vancouver hotel to get this honour). It’s easy to see why it’s so esteemed. The location’s the first tick in the box — in trendy Yaletown, it’s mere blocks from the False Creek waterfront and mixes with top restaurants and lounge bars. The hotel’s own eatery and OPUS cocktail bar are the next ticks — with La Pentola sourcing all its vegetables locally and meats sustainably, but accenting them with fine olive oils and prosciutto straight from Italy to create an authentic North Italian menu. And finally there are its vibrant guestrooms, with their complimentary WiFi, in-room iPads, and spa bathrooms.

From Check in to check out was amazing. We checked in for a girls night out and checked out from the best 24 hrs ever. We checked in with a glass of Champagne and it just got better from there. We couldn’t have asked for better service or a better location. We will definitely be back!!!

We stayed in this trendy hotel for one night because we were attending a wedding in Yaletown. It was a quick 3 minute walk between wedding venue and hotel so we could pop back with the kids between ceremony and reception. The room was excellently appointed with (almost) everything we could want, except toothbrush and paste. Mind you, we didn’t ring guest services about a toothbrush and I’m sure they would’ve obliged. The view from the luxe bathroom (!!!) was expansive: floor to ceiling. The beds were the exceptionally comfortable. I did overheat during the night because I neglected to turn down the thermostat, oops. 68F at night would’ve been better than 74! My bad. The kids were thrilled with the in-room iPads. If you have the means, I highly recommend the Opus. Read less

Traveling for business, i found the hotel to be very comfortable and functional. Very pleasant and efficient staff, good coffee shop access via the lobby. Make sure to pre-schedule taxis with the front desk or use Bonnys Taxi app, as grabbing a cab on the street is not always easy. Plenty of great restaurants nearby
