The Douglas, Autograph Collection Hotel

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

Uniting Vancouver’s urban dynamism with British Columbia’s ‘outdoors’ spirit, this boutique hotel was inspired by the Douglas firs that swept along False Creek, where the hotel now lies. In fact, they’ve even installed a replica 25 foot fir to greet you on arrival. There’s nothing artificial about the 200 native pines and 15,000 local plants in its exquisite rooftop park though – six stories up, it’s the pièce de résistance for Parq Vancouver, a unique dining, entertainment, and hotel complex that provides the backdrop for The Douglas and its elegant yet environmentally conscious rooms. As part of Parq Vancouver, you get the key to all its attractions, including the stunning Spa by JW, a huge casino with around 600 slots and 75 tables, a fitness centre, and eight restaurants and lounges, including rooftop hangouts The Victor and D/6 Bar & Lounge.

Friendly check in at this nicely appointed hotel. Casino in hotel next door. Room was well clean with comfortable beds and big tv. Good value, even mini bar was reasonable. No complaints would certainly stay again.

Me and my family are staying here for two days. The amenities were good. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The restaurant in the casino is good and not too expensive. I would recommend the restaurant called 24/7 in the casino.

After a long, 60 day, arduous trek all across North America, to be greeted by warm, helpful, and accommodating souls might be the most relieving sensation one could experience when living on the road. Cindy Soliman - one of Marriott's most professional and true masters of her trade - physically opened the door to our bus and literally opened our eyes to relief, deep exhales, and comfort upon arrival. She wasn't content until all parties were in their respective rooms and settled in nicely with their belongings to follow. Hours later, she checked up on us one last, univasive time, and maybe then, she was ready to let the auto pilot take over. A real life angel and future CEO of any enterprise making life better. Thomas Hynds, our bellman/mobile concierge/ambassador was delightful and such a professional as well. Dealing with three, full, luggage trolleys, he managed to deliver all pieces to the proper owner's rooms with a smile on his face and continued willingness to help thereafter as well. Brigitte Zahrabelny - client specialist at the SPA by JW - made sure we floated after enjoying their facilities to the very maximum. Warm smile and looking to make our stay that much more restful and recharging, she demonstrated her quality soul with quality facilities to support. As for Tori and Shara at the front desk, they were either trained well to go out of their way for their clients, or Marriott has a keen ability to recruit and hire naturally positive overachievers. They were a breath of fresh air. An amazing stay with amazing professionals. Thank you The Douglas, Autograph Collection, Vancouver. I will see you again, soon. Read less

We stayed here on the last evening of our Rocky Mountaineer vacation. It was a short stay but we enjoyed every minute. The room was spacious and well appointed. It had all you could want. We were treated to a small cake to celebrate our Anniversary. Thank you.
