The Westin Grand Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

The very definition of ‘urban chic’, after a mega-makeover Westin Grand Vancouver’s look matches its feel. It has that subtle sophistication you’d expect from a Westin, oozing city style with chocolate, latte and caramel tones. If the décor leaves you a little peckish, the swanky new Hendricks Resto-Lounge presents a ‘remixed’ fusion of contemporary and classic tastes, extending from its cuisine to its cocktails. Overlooking Library Square on Robson Street, Hendricks turns into a live lounge three nights a week, hosting DJs and musicians, while its Pop Up Patio adds extra buzz and bites like ceviche, sliders, and sushi rolls. With all those tempting treats at your fingertips, you’ll be thankful for the heated outdoor pool, whirlpool, and gym — although you could just work off the pounds ‘shopping till you drop’ — after all, you are on Vancouver’s most famous shopping street.

I've stayed at this hotel at least a half dozen times after staying at many Vancouver hotels looking for the "perfect" one. I travel to Vancouver for business for over 15 years and the Westin Grand is always my first choice. The rooms are all one bedroom and have ample space and great amenities to get work done and/or relax. The location is also great as you are steps from the library, BC Place, GM Place, YaleTown, and you are right on Robson Street. The self-park option is also convenient so you can come and go as you please or utilize one of the public transportation options that are close to your doorstep. Read less

I stayed at the Westin Grand Vancouver this past weekend with my 7 1/2 year old niece and 73 year old mother. It was part of a girls weekend getaway. I can't say enough about the staff at this property! We were greeted with a friendly and energetic front desk staff person. He went out of his way to engage with both my niece and my mom and make us feel welcome. We had a room upgrade to a beautiful corner suite with a balcony on the 21st floor. We went out in the afternoon and came back to a little gift in the room from another staff member welcoming us and wishing us well. We went for a late evening snack at Hendricks just off the lobby. The server there was warm and welcoming. She brought extra colouring sheets when she noticed my niece starting to look a little bored while my mom and I were still enjoying our glass of wine. All of staff we encountered were pleasant and engaging, even those at the valet desk, when we didn't use the service. They welcomed us on our way in and out of the hotel and asked how our stay was. I travel frequently and stay at a lot of Marriott properties. I was so impressed with the level of service and the apparent genuine interest in my family's stay. If I have another occasion to stay downtown, I won't hesitate to book here again. Read less

The view in the evening from these amenities is fantastic and the water temperature is on spot. When we arrived in the morning from the airport, the front desk managed to check us in pretty early and give us the 2-room suite that we asked for. Everything inside the rooms was clean and sleek/modern. Nothing but good comments about this hotel and its friendly staff. Great location if you're interested on walking to the Canucks' games.
