The Westin Grand Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

The very definition of ‘urban chic’, after a mega-makeover Westin Grand Vancouver’s look matches its feel. It has that subtle sophistication you’d expect from a Westin, oozing city style with chocolate, latte and caramel tones. If the décor leaves you a little peckish, the swanky new Hendricks Resto-Lounge presents a ‘remixed’ fusion of contemporary and classic tastes, extending from its cuisine to its cocktails. Overlooking Library Square on Robson Street, Hendricks turns into a live lounge three nights a week, hosting DJs and musicians, while its Pop Up Patio adds extra buzz and bites like ceviche, sliders, and sushi rolls. With all those tempting treats at your fingertips, you’ll be thankful for the heated outdoor pool, whirlpool, and gym — although you could just work off the pounds ‘shopping till you drop’ — after all, you are on Vancouver’s most famous shopping street.

Central location and easy walking to most places! Staff is fantastic. Rooms and nice, large, clean. Beds sleep well and room was quiet. Bonus points if you opt to not have towels and sheet changed every day! Hendrick was nice for breakfast and the bar was great. We want to give a shout out to Ting and Jaime, who were fun and pleasant to chat with!

Very well located and friendly staff. Right in the middle of everything in Vancouver. Splurged on an executive corner suite that was bright, roomy, and well appointed. Not luxurious but very clean, functional and comfortable. Room rate was high but Vancouver is costly in the summer. "Executive" part did not seem to add anything and there were no bath robes in the room. At the room rate charged, there should at least be robes. As noted by others, the lobby is essentially non-existent and the elevators were problematic. Two elevators are simply insufficient during busy times given the size of the hotel and the high occupancy. This being said, we enjoyed our stay. Read less

I questioned whether I was at the right hotel upon arrival because the ground floor lobby and upper level (where the front desk was located) were both very small, considering the word “grand” is used in the name of the hotel. However, I was happy to find out that my suite was definitely big enough to be called a proper suite. As a huge fan of… Read more

However, I was happy to find out that my suite was definitely big enough to be called a proper suite. As a huge fan of natural lights I also enjoyed the huge windows and the nice city view. The neighbourhood was convenient as well, with lots of stores and dining options very close by and majority of downtown was walkable. In general it was a short stay but very pleasant. I haven’t tried many Marriott properties in downtown Vancouver as yet, but by my usual standards the Westin Grand did not disappoint. Read less

Spent 3 nights here in an executive corner suite on the 28th floor. Check in process wasn’t great, but hotel was full. We had to wait until 1700 to get in our room, but we did get free drinks and apps in the hotel restaurant for the inconvenience. Layout of the room was fantastic and it was great having two different a/c units in bedroom vs… Read more

The hotel is located in a nice location downtown Vancouver. Room is spacious and overall sleeping experience was nice. Some of the staff are helpful and resourceful. Overall a nice stay and would recommend staying.
