The Westin Grand Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

The very definition of ‘urban chic’, after a mega-makeover Westin Grand Vancouver’s look matches its feel. It has that subtle sophistication you’d expect from a Westin, oozing city style with chocolate, latte and caramel tones. If the décor leaves you a little peckish, the swanky new Hendricks Resto-Lounge presents a ‘remixed’ fusion of contemporary and classic tastes, extending from its cuisine to its cocktails. Overlooking Library Square on Robson Street, Hendricks turns into a live lounge three nights a week, hosting DJs and musicians, while its Pop Up Patio adds extra buzz and bites like ceviche, sliders, and sushi rolls. With all those tempting treats at your fingertips, you’ll be thankful for the heated outdoor pool, whirlpool, and gym — although you could just work off the pounds ‘shopping till you drop’ — after all, you are on Vancouver’s most famous shopping street.

The view in the evening from these amenities is fantastic and the water temperature is on spot. When we arrived in the morning from the airport, the front desk managed to check us in pretty early and give us the 2-room suite that we asked for. Everything inside the rooms was clean and sleek/modern. Nothing but good comments about this hotel and its friendly staff. Great location if you're interested on walking to the Canucks' games. I've booked and stayed at this property numerous times directly, maybe 6-7 times, and have NEVER been thanked or acknowledged as a returning guest. The new renovations have given this hotel a nice refresh. However, even with the refresh, some of the furniture was showing signs of wear already. The bed was comfortable, and the room is clean. The new renovations have given this hotel a nice refresh. However, even with the refresh, some of the furniture was showing signs of wear already. The bed was comfortable, and the room is clean. The front desk seemed swamped when I was checking in and didn't really provide me with a mind-blowing service. Honestly - for the price some people are paying, comparatively, the service sucks. . Location is good. Read less

1. The manager on-site required that I contact my Ambassador (From Ambassador Elite Tier) and have them e-mail the hotel to request Your24 check-in / check-out. Apparently, this was to confirm my status. 2. Only after the e-mail has been sent, would the manager let me know if my requested times are available. I find this nonsensical as the… Read more

Apparently, this was to confirm my status. 2. Only after the e-mail has been sent, would the manager let me know if my requested times are available. I find this nonsensical as the system already knows what tier level you are. I let the manager know that the Ambassador line is only available M-F, not on the weekends (as I was calling on a Saturday). I also let him know that I've used this service before, with Marriott telling me that I'd only have to give the hotel a heads up to see if they have availability. I would not recommend this hotel for business travelers, or tiered members expecting outstanding service. Thankfully, Marriott standard reservation service was able to help book me with another hotel that knew didn't try to make my jump through unnecessary hoops and cancel the my reservation with Westin Grand Vancouver without penalty. We had a wonderful extended stay at the Westin Grand . The hotel had all we needed for a summer visit. Perfect central location , very friendly staff , especially in the restaurant. It soon became a home away from home!
