Four of us from our book club visited the Oak Bay Beach Hotel earlier this month. We booked a one-night Covid friendly get-away - ensuring that we each booked accommodation that allowed lots of room for social distancing. Our rooms were all beautiful. We were delighted when one of our number was upgraded from the waterfront room she had booked to the penthouse. This ensured an astounding view and lots of space and fresh air on the spacious balcony. We enjoyed everything - the beautiful pools, lunch outside in the new pizza restaurant, room service for dinner (making the most of the large penthouse dining table) and another lunch at the Snug. As local Victoria residents who have come to the OBBH on many occasions, we found that the food now is better than ever. Further, staff members were outstandingly helpful and gracious. As a whole, adherence to Covid protocols (including strict use of masks by staff and guests) was outstanding. The hotel really functions as a complete resort, given the beautiful rooms, choice of dining options, the spa, exercise room, weekly dinner theatre evenings (now Covid adapted to become movie evenings) and the wonderful walking and running options available at the doorstep. We left after our one-day break feeling we had been away for days. For a long or short stay - we totally recommend the OBBH! Read less

From the friendly greetings of the doormen to the amiable efficiency of our check-in clerk, Joy, the welcome impressed us. Then to the rooms. All I can say is Wow. There is no skimping on materials here -- the quality of the doors, flooring, mattresses, linens, pillows, towels, and draperies is exceptional as is the layout and size of the one-bedroom apartment. We also had the pleasure of breakfasting for three mornings in The Snug where we marvelled not only at the spectacular view, but the chef's lively take on avocado toast. Kudos to Gavin and Lesley for their patient service. Our room service meal was excellent, in particular, the seafood chowder, a dish that was actually brimming with something many so-named aren't --- seafood! And on our final night, we experienced what both of us considered to be one of the best pizzas we've ever had -- the Funghi -- at Faro. Our gentleman server's recommendations--to consider the arugula salad and the lemon tart---were spot-on. We ended our night braving theblustery elements in the hot pools, laughing over the craziness and wonder of what we were doing and where we were, and thankful to the Oak Bay Beach Hotel for being the site of an unforgettable experience. I have recently been fortunate to enjoy the beautiful mineral pools at the Boathouse Spa. Our party had a welcoming reception to the spa and an informative tour of the facility by Tina. The spa was meticulous and the patrons that we encountered were respectful of social distancing in the indoor space. The pools were absolutely decadent-the contrast of the cool fall air with the warm water was heavenly. The bartender was attentive and helpful for choosing seating on the pool deck (mindful of social distancing),as well as ensuring that all patrons had some time in the jacuzzi pool. In this uncertain time of so much stress and uncertainty, we felt so thankful to have this as a treat, a local "getaway". We will definitely come back. Read less

The pool and hot tub area is absolutely beautiful as well! The Snug Pub and Faro are delicious for lunch and dinner. I absolutely recommend this hotel as a nice change of scenery from the faster-pace of downtown Victoria! Read less

We had a fantastic time at the hotel. A great spot to get away from it all.
