Lodge-style living meets alpine luxury at this all-suite hotel, where fireplaces, private balconies, valley or mountain views, and fully kitted out kitchens come as standard. Squeezing itself into the closest spot to the Blackcomb Excalibur and Whistler Village gondolas, snow sports are obviously de rigueur here — helped by Pan Pacific Mountainside’s complimentary ski valet and its outdoor sports shop, The Salomon Store. It’s not all slope-side action of course, but even when you’re having a dip in the heated saltwater pool or one of its whirlpools, you’ll be doing so with views of the mountains and Whistler’s popular Skier’s Plaza. The plaza’s also the setting for the heated patio of the hotel’s Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub, where the Gaelic pub grub, live Celtic music, and outdoor fire come with a side order of mountain views.

We are a family of 3 and stayed at PP Mountainside for a spring break ski trip and I must say the hotel exceeded our expectations. We wanted ski-in, easy access to the slopes, easy walking distance to restaurants etc because we did not have a car and we wanted heated pool and hot tubs preferably with a view - Pan Pacific Mountainside checked all those boxes and then some.
Check in was easy although our room was not ready at 3pm when we arrived but she guaranteed it would be ready by 4pm . So we gave our bags to the bellman to hold while we went to the grocery and had a bite. We received a call it was ready at 4pm and by the time we returned all of our bags were waiting for us in the room.
The room itself was fantastic. We stayed in a 1 bedroom mountainside #704. It was pricey but worth it and made our trip extra special. WHAT A VIEW - we looked directly out on the slopes/gondolas and overlooked the pool. Perfect for watching the Fire and Ice show on Sunday and for checking out how crowded the hot tubs were. The room was reasonably sized. We are 2 adults and 1 15 yr old were quite comfortable. I think even if there had been another kid it would have been fine still size wise. the king bed was more comfortable than ours at home so we slept well. TVs in both the the bedrm and living rm. Sofa bed in the living rm. A great gas fireplace which my family enjoyed sitting in front of in the evenings. The kitchen was small but had everything you need - stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, frig, pots/pans, silverware, knives, plates/bowls and glasses for 4, sink soap, etc... The only thing that would have been helpful is paper towels but they are easily bought. The bathroom was large with plenty of counter space, storage and towels. Nice amenities and even a lighted make-up mirror. Other added perks were the balcony and the "window seat" . My daughter usually parked her herself on the window seat to watch all of the lower slope and village activity. I really enjoyed the balcony on a couple of afternoons, catching some spring sun in short sleeves out of the breeze. they even supplied a drying rack which was useful to dry out ski clothes overnight. The only thing about the room was that it was not the quietest - we did not hear our hotel neighbors but the afternoon music from the Longhorn was loud, especially the booming bass. Some people may be bothered by this but we weren't and even joked we would miss it a little. It was actually fun to watch all the 20 somethings dance on tables as the bar shot out steam and fire, at least for us we liked that added atmosphere.
Housekeeping was great. You can even give them a time if you have a request for them to clean. We only did this one day because of our schedule we knew we would like it cleaned after 10 but before 1.
For ski-in/out it was PERFECT. Literally a few steps from the Blackcomb Excalibur gondola and a 2-3 minute walk across the plaza to the Whistler Gondola and Whistler guest services. PP Mtside also has ski lockers right near the ground floor exit for your skis and poles. Also on the ground floor were a few ski shops. We had re-booked rentals from the largest one for my daughter. Very quick bu the first guy helping us seemed "too cool" to bother to do his job and in fact set the ski settings wrong. We went back in later that day and a girl there adjusted them properly. So watch for inconsistency. I decided last minute to rent for a day and try skiing. I am heavy and have LARGE calves so was worried about finding a boot to fit. I asked "too cool" guy and he had no interest in helping and said oh I'd put you in a man's boot. Okay I knew that would not work because they are taller which wasn't going to work for me but he really had no interest in helping me. I later went next door to Affinity in the hotel and the guy there was great. He actually thought about what could work, looked at a few boots and then gave me 2 to try. One of them fit perfectly. I really appreciated his helping me and in such a personable way. Of course with the rentals right there it made returning the skis super easy.
Food wise- Breakfast was not included in the room but there was a coffee maker and coffee/creamer/sugar resupplied daily as well as tea. We are big breakfast eaters so buying some fruit and juice from the store worked well all week for us. there is the Irish pub on the ground floor which serves 3 meals, has HH, daily music and is open late. I also think you can get room service from them. We stopped in one day for a beer and pretzels. Music was great! Service ok, little slow but it was packed and they were friendly. Prices were reasonable.
All the other service at the hotel was great too. The front desk people answered all of our questions, made a couple of calls for us checking out some things, provided maps and gave good directions. On day we were going to the Whistler Sliding Center and the hotel car shuttled us there and later came to pick us up for free. That was incredibly convenient and a nice perk.
The workout room is small but I am sure it is because few use it given all the activities in Whistler. I tried out the steam room and loved it. We went to the hot tubs every day - there is a large and smaller one on the deck slopeside . Temperature was just right. The pool is heated but after being in the tub for a while it felt a little too chilly for us to want to jump in. We saw some families and lots of kids in the afternoon using it. Pool towels are provided.
Another small perk - a fresh baked cookie for kids delivered to the room between 5:30-7 every day.
Overall we loved this hotel and would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for us. We were glad we stayed so close to the slopes and in the heart of the village as we enjoyed great access to the slopes, lots of restaurants and shops and all the activity. We went over to the Fairmont one night and Blackcomb seemed so dead in comparison - not our vibe. We obviously highly recommend Pan Pacific Mtside.
Beautiful hotel perfectly located in magical Whistler

Had a great time at hotel, location can’t be beat in Whistler. Informed after our first night a small problem with our room and manager quickly moved us and satisfactorily resolved our needs. Very good storage for the skis. Has one of the beat bars in Whistler.
Extremely noisy, no breakfast, no coffee, short staffed - run by accountants and CPAs

We were at the hotel for February winter break - we have a small child who sleeps in the afternoons. More on that later. Our biggest takeaway from this trip is that Whistler is no longer a family resort - if you are coming here with a family with small kids, don't stay in the village. Stay outside in Benchlands at a condo, Fairmont, Four Seasons, etc. Second, if you are paying the same price as Four Seasons, Fairmont and Westin - you expect similar experience - far from it!
- hotel in whistler village at great location a few steps from Blackcomb Gondola and a few more steps to whistler gondola
- easy access to village restaurants and stroll
- rooms decently appointed if small (this is an older property)
- ski lockers on ground level close to lifts
- personnel are generally nice and helpful
- noise - especially in the afternoon. the hotel is opposite Long Horn barn which has a rave running every day from 2pm till about 5pm. it's extremely loud. So much so that our son would wake up multiple times during his afternoon nap and complain about the noise. Once the LongHorn stops, the Irish pub under the hotel starts - less noise. The long horn is REALLY loud. but still not great.
- no breakfast - the hotel has no common areas for breakfast, coffee etc. they point you to the Irish Pub which serves breakfast - but the food is mediocre. There is no coffee in the hotel at all - they point you to Starbucks.
- the hotel has no common areas - just a pool. the lobby is really small - with two sofas and it acts as the village thoroughfare - people running through it randomly during the day
- not staffed adequately - we arrived at 9pm and there was no one at the car valet, no one to help us take bags up and that was about it. the lobby attendant didn't know when someone would be there so we had to take our bags up ourselves (lots of bags). this is purely an accounting issue - i am sure the property owners dont want to employ more people
- rooms starting to look run down and little has been done it seems to address this

So close to gondolas, lift, ski school and everything in the village. We had a studio with the Murphy bed, for family of 4, kids aged 7 and 11. Would recommend getting something a little bigger, the one bedroom just for that little bit of extra space. Overall the room size did not affect our stay, as we were out and about. Would recommend getting something a little bigger, the one bedroom just for that little bit of extra space. Overall the room size did not affect our stay, as we were out and about. Great kitchen set up, we cooked a few nights and it made for an easy quick breakfast. The property is a little dated, however, the location makes up for that, along with the convenience of having the Irish pub downstairs and the best views from the hot tubs!! Will be definitely staying here on out next visit.
