Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside

Whistler, Canada

The hotel

Lodge-style living meets alpine luxury at this all-suite hotel, where fireplaces, private balconies, valley or mountain views, and fully kitted out kitchens come as standard. Squeezing itself into the closest spot to the Blackcomb Excalibur and Whistler Village gondolas, snow sports are obviously de rigueur here — helped by Pan Pacific Mountainside’s complimentary ski valet and its outdoor sports shop, The Salomon Store. It’s not all slope-side action of course, but even when you’re having a dip in the heated saltwater pool or one of its whirlpools, you’ll be doing so with views of the mountains and Whistler’s popular Skier’s Plaza. The plaza’s also the setting for the heated patio of the hotel’s Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub, where the Gaelic pub grub, live Celtic music, and outdoor fire come with a side order of mountain views.

In January 2020, about a week before our stay, I phoned to confirm/discuss the rates and the hotel found better rates that were available (even though the booking was locked in and paid in Dec 2019) and put a credit onto my charge card within a couple of days ($460 - which helped pay for a couple of special meals while there). They package included wifi, ski locker/storage and parking. The staff were extremely courteous, the room was in great shape, with a view out to the ski mountain. My wife and I had a great birthday celebration, largely in part to our hotel experience! Read less

This is our second year staying at the hotel and it is great in terms of location, amenities, staff and a great room. We could only get a studio this year but it was more than enough. Ski-in and out from the hotel is just so easy.

Enjoyed our stay at Pan Pacific for 8 nights. Booked a one bedroom suite away from pub to avoid noise. You could not beat the location! Our suite had a kitchen, so we shopped in town for breakfast, drinks and snacks. Locker was convenient and heated. My one pet peeve was the non supervised kids at the hot tub. Our suite had a kitchen, so we shopped in town for breakfast, drinks and snacks. Locker was convenient and heated. My one pet peeve was the non supervised kids at the hot tub. After a long day on the slopes we like to have a drink in the hot tubs. At Pan Pacific each day we shared the hot tubs with children only or children minimally supervised by adults sometimes supervising from balconies. We have 4 grown children of our own, but never would let them go to a hot tub at a young age unsupervised. Read less

Excellent location at the base of the lifts to the mountains, walking distance to restaurants in the village. Even first class views to the Mountain with a great Fire Show on Sunday night. Hot spa and pool for apres ski was superb especially while snowing!

I had high expectations about Whistler prior to arriving. The reviews I'd been given about Pan Pacific were loftier than the mountains they look on to but my expectations were exceeded. Every single staff member I encountered from check in to housekeeping were absolutely wonderful. So warm and sincere with their greetings and well wishes. Nothing was too much trouble and always willing to help. The facility was magnificent. The rooms were clean and tidy, in great condition and there is nothing more invigorating than taking an open air spa with the snow falling on you. I will definitely be back to Whistler and I will not stay anywhere else than Pan Pacific Mountain Side. Thankyou for making my experience so wonderful. Read less
