Summit Lodge Boutique Hotel

Whistler, Canada

The hotel

Summit Lodge is certainly doing something right — after all, happy travellers named it ‘Canada’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’ at the World Ski Awards three years in a row. That’s partly down to its exclusive location, surrounded by Whistler Village’s après ski restaurant scene — although it holds its own in the dining stakes, with an upscale tapas joint and high-end sushi bar. It ticks off all those luxury ski resort musts too, including a deluxe spa; complimentary WiFi access; private outdoor patio with heated pool and hot tub; swanky suites with cosy fireplaces, soaking tubs, kitchenettes, and balconies with village or forest views; and even free summertime bike rental. But Summit Lodge also has a cheeky side, with fun flashes of hot pink, vivid turquoise, and electric purple giving a mischievous twist to your suite’s otherwise natural and neutral Canadian décor.

Has to be the best place to stay in Whistler for a ski trip. The location is ideal, close to a grocery store, bars and many restaurants. The private shuttle to the slopes was efficient and the driver, Pierre, was awesome. Everything was perfect! I will return and would definitely recommend.

The hotel staff was exceptional. They were friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. I travel for work almost every week and this staff was as good as it gets. I can’t wait to come back. The hotel was in a perfect location. Check out the sushi restaurant in the building.

This was our second stay at the Summit in a few months. Writing the first review reminded me how much we enjoyed it, so we booked again. Amy in housekeeping was amazing, she recognized our dogs from our previous stay. We also saw her in the village and she said a quick hello. How refreshing and kind is that? We had an irritating problem with our room that the front desk should have been able to resolve, but it was frustrating for us. I felt that the response was not up to what I imagined management standards to be based on our previous stay. I gave management some feedback by email so they had the opportunity to improve the process. I can only say I received a truly model response from management. They truly want to give guests a great experience. I highly recommend The Summit and look forward to returning again to a place where the staff are so friendly, and their enthusiasm improves the experience. Read less

The reception staff is always welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect, with only a 8-10 minute walk to the slopes, and surrounded by countless shops and restaurants. The market is also across the street and convenient for buying supplies for stocking the kitchenette. The Lodge hosted a wine and cheese event on Friday night that was delicious! We also love the Elements restaurant on the first floor. Great breakfasts and tapas-style evening fare. We will be back on our next visit to Whistler! Read less

There are so many great things about this hotel - the quirky rooms, the lovely reception and hot tub and pool, but by far the most outstanding is the staff. Lloyd on reception - you were a star and looked after us so well - we really enjoyed those happy hours ! Hope you enjoy your sister’s wedding 😁. I have never seen a towel made into a swan, an elephant and the bear ! Amy, Alexandra and Kelly - thank you so much - it was a joy to return to our beautifully clean room at the end of the day and see what creation awaited us ! We have loved it here and will definitely return 😊👍 Read less
