Summit Lodge Boutique Hotel

Whistler, Canada

The hotel

Summit Lodge is certainly doing something right — after all, happy travellers named it ‘Canada’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’ at the World Ski Awards three years in a row. That’s partly down to its exclusive location, surrounded by Whistler Village’s après ski restaurant scene — although it holds its own in the dining stakes, with an upscale tapas joint and high-end sushi bar. It ticks off all those luxury ski resort musts too, including a deluxe spa; complimentary WiFi access; private outdoor patio with heated pool and hot tub; swanky suites with cosy fireplaces, soaking tubs, kitchenettes, and balconies with village or forest views; and even free summertime bike rental. But Summit Lodge also has a cheeky side, with fun flashes of hot pink, vivid turquoise, and electric purple giving a mischievous twist to your suite’s otherwise natural and neutral Canadian décor.

Every single person I dealt with, especially Robbie at the Front Desk, were super nice and helpful! I had asked for a card for my boyfriend, and they also included a bottle of wine! We requested extra items, (mostly kitchen as they limited supplies due to Covid), and they had a crate delivered to our door super efficiently. They have a number you can text, for anything you need, or even to send jokes too, which I did! They are a super fun, witty hotel group. The room itself was fabulous, nice and spacious. We even got to use the pool and hot tub! I’d definitely recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay here again! Thanks so much for the great, five star service! Brianna and Aaron Read less

I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to stay in Whistler. Read less

Stayed here with my lady friend in the middle of June, as we needed a getaway from our everyday. As someone that lives in Vancouver, whistler is a quick little getaway, and we both had never stayed at this hotel, as it was just reopening after Covid, we found a deal, so that is what brought us to this property. For the price point, we were not thinking we would get so much, but not only did they give us an amazing executive suite, the breakfast that they provided was surprisingly great(apart from weak Coffee). Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very friendly face at the check in counter, we then were given the keys to an amazing room, with 2 balconies, a king sized bed that was super comfortable, along with a mini kitchenette stocked with a hot plate, bar fridge, single cup Coffee maker along with 2 of everything: cups forks knives spoons plates. The bathroom is a fair size with a large tub, however my one complaint is that the shower head only came up to my chest, and I'm not even that tall; only 6'1". Adequate parking, however the spaces are a little tight. Amazing pool and hot tub with an outdoor seating space as well. The Spa staff that were in charge of cleaning the pool area did an amazing job, I witnessed after people got out of the tub and pool area, they came out, sanitized and wiped down everything, I was very impressed with this action. This modern decor hotel is a great choice in Whistler, I will definitely be back! Read less

This was our first time to Whistler and needed somewhere a bit special that was conveniently located. Summit Lodge did not disappoint. The staff were welcoming and the extra little touches like free tea and coffee in the lobby - along with a sparkling wine reception one evening - really made a difference. The hotel provided a free shuttle to the Whistler Village lifts which only took about 5 minutes and was therefore never more than a 10-minute wait away, from directly in front of the hotel. Our driver, Pierre, was excellent - very friendly and helpful. We usually walked back to the hotel at the end of the day rather than get the shuttle. This would have only taken 10 minutes or so had we not stopped off at various bars in the village for après - something that is severely lacking on the slopes when compared to Europe. The hotel provided free storage for boards and skis. It is located on the lobby floor which makes it very convenient to pick up and drop off. The only disappointment was that they couldn't accommodate boots or poles, so these needed to be lugged to and from the room every day. The room was a good size and had a gas fire and a small balcony. Housekeeping was excellent - Amy deserves a special mention for looking after us so well and delighting us with her towel animal sculptures! The outdoor hot tub was a nice way to end the day's skiing before getting dressed and heading out to one of the many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. We once tried the tapas place - Elements, which is attached to the hotel - for breakfast. The food was excellent but probably wouldn't go there again as the service was very slow and the food was served up with a large portion of attitude from the waiter. All in all, a fantastic hotel that is fully-deserving of its #1 status. We would have no issue with staying here again. Read less
