Summit Lodge Boutique Hotel

Whistler, Canada

The hotel

Summit Lodge is certainly doing something right — after all, happy travellers named it ‘Canada’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’ at the World Ski Awards three years in a row. That’s partly down to its exclusive location, surrounded by Whistler Village’s après ski restaurant scene — although it holds its own in the dining stakes, with an upscale tapas joint and high-end sushi bar. It ticks off all those luxury ski resort musts too, including a deluxe spa; complimentary WiFi access; private outdoor patio with heated pool and hot tub; swanky suites with cosy fireplaces, soaking tubs, kitchenettes, and balconies with village or forest views; and even free summertime bike rental. But Summit Lodge also has a cheeky side, with fun flashes of hot pink, vivid turquoise, and electric purple giving a mischievous twist to your suite’s otherwise natural and neutral Canadian décor.

Rooms were very chic and clean. Location is also very good. The reception staff, Brogan, Robbie, Lloyd and the lovely Aussie girl too (apologies I can't quite remember her name) were exceptional and some of the finest employees in hospitality we have had the pleasure of coming across . Our room overlooking the pool was quiet, and had a very comfortable bed. A small kitchen area which was great for breakfasts and I even made a meal of spaghetti Bolognese one evening without any problems. Reception staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, even offering an umbrella, on the one morning it rained. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this boutique hotel and the resort of Whistler. Both just fabulous. From the first phone call to reserve a room, we knew this hotel was different. The helpful, playful attitude is apparent in their decorating, their front desk (which has jars of candy and borrowable fish bowls), their coffee machine in the lobby, and the towel animals left on the bed. There is a yellow rubber ducky on the bathtub, and a tablet… Read more

Great value in a luxury setting. Read less

We had a fabulous experience. The hotel has a cool vibe and great location. What stands out most was how friendly and helpful everyone was. I can’t remember front desk names but they were really nice! Loved that you could text from anywhere and get recommendations from them. Amy in housekeeping was so sweet and good! The only thing I would change is the parking situation. If you have an SUV you have to double park or get dinged up...or not be able to get out of your car. Also, we assumed it was secure parking but the gate never was closed. That was the only negative! Read less
