Summit Lodge Boutique Hotel

Whistler, Canada

The hotel

Summit Lodge is certainly doing something right — after all, happy travellers named it ‘Canada’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’ at the World Ski Awards three years in a row. That’s partly down to its exclusive location, surrounded by Whistler Village’s après ski restaurant scene — although it holds its own in the dining stakes, with an upscale tapas joint and high-end sushi bar. It ticks off all those luxury ski resort musts too, including a deluxe spa; complimentary WiFi access; private outdoor patio with heated pool and hot tub; swanky suites with cosy fireplaces, soaking tubs, kitchenettes, and balconies with village or forest views; and even free summertime bike rental. But Summit Lodge also has a cheeky side, with fun flashes of hot pink, vivid turquoise, and electric purple giving a mischievous twist to your suite’s otherwise natural and neutral Canadian décor.

The extra touches such as the freebies in the lobby (special coffees, tea, hot chocolate and candies) the cute monster sock dolls in the room and the possibility to rent a fish as a friend during our visit were all very much appreciated. The underground parking came in handy as parking in the area was very limited. We parked our car for the two days here and enjoyed the upper and lower village areas restaurants and shops. Handy walking access to grocery and liquor stores to stock room with what we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we were in the area. We spent 1/2 day doing the peak to peak experience and would highly recommend it! Read less

We just came back from our 2 days anniversary trip. We were very disappointed especially the room housekeeping service and the front desk service. They didn't come in to clean our room. We just came back from our 2 days anniversary trip. We were very disappointed especially the room housekeeping service and the front desk service. They didn't come in to clean our room. We left the room around 1 pm and when we came back they left a note saying that we put up a 'Do not disturb sign' outside the room therefore, they couldn't clean our room. The do not disturb was taken off around 12.30 pm and when we left our room at around 1 pm, we saw that the housekeepers was still around, When we came back, we called the front reception to complain but all we got from the front desk, Lloyd who was arrogant and rude told us that they couldn't do anything because the housekeepers has left for the day. Instead of solving our issues that most hotels do, he just offered us fresh towels. When the house service guy came to our room with fresh towels we complained that our room wasn't clean yet. He was more receptive than the front desk staff Lloyd and offered just to clean our wash room only. That's all he can do and he told us that the housekeepers should have came back to do their rounds.. This was our first time to the Summit Lodge and will be our last time there. We loved Whistler and we have always go up there for a few days getaway but we will never go back to Summit Lodge Boutique anymore. We have never ever encountered this kind of poor housekeeping service before anywhere we go in the past whether in Canada or other parts of the world. We paid C$250 per night and Summit Lodge did not live up to the reputation of what the reviews has said about them. We felt cheated of our money and when we lodged he complaint to the Summit Lodge's manager, she doesn't even offer us anything else but only an apology. We will not recommend to others. Unbelievable! We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Beautiful decor, free coffees which was brilliant, great cleanliness, decoration and facilities in room. We borrowed umbrellas for the changeable weather! Unusually wide choice of TV channels, in room i-pad. Only downsides I can think of were really noisy air-con, if you're sensitive to that kind of noise and… Read more

Unusually wide choice of TV channels, in room i-pad. Only downsides I can think of were really noisy air-con, if you're sensitive to that kind of noise and expensive under-hotel parking; we had not been charged elsewhere for parking. But it was secure, or there were cheaper options a walk away. Dog friendly. Whistker is a beautiful place & this is a lovely hotel to compliment it, highly recommended. Read less

Lovely location. Rooms are very spacious and very comfortable beds. You have a kitchenette so you can bring in your own food and cook and eat. Pool and hot tub were lovely to rally in during the evening.

We went there early but they were able to get a room almost immediately. Room was great, and the amenities were fantastic. Loved the coffee maker in the lobby! We were also able to use the pool and the hot tub and they were wonderful. It's a small scale boutique hotel and we really like it's cleanliness, attention to details and environmentally conscious. We will definitely return and will recommend this hotel to everyone. Read less
