We originally booked 2 weeks at The Royalton, but due to various issues (documented in a separate review) we were moved to Nonsuch by British Airways after 2 days - and thank goodness we were! We arrived at Nonsuch on May the 6th, and despite having less than 2 hours notice of our arrival they were 100% prepared for us when we got there which is impressive! We were greeted warmly and given a great rum punch, and upon seeing my wife on crutches were immediately switched to a room nearest to the amenities and with the least walking to do - I forget the gentleman's name but that was top class and really helped thank you! The apartment we had was very luxurious - 4 poster bed, full kitchen and laundry room, lounge, wifi, tv, air con - everything you could wish for! After being at Royalton what immediately stood out to us on arriving at Nonsuch was the staff - so much friendlier and well versed in the processes and procedures which just makes life so much more enjoyable for us guests. They seemed to have a very warm atmosphere amongst themselves (playful, happy, mischievous!) and this just radiated out to us during our stay. The resort is gorgeous - located on its own beach with lots of waterspouts and amenities. It also has 3 wonderful infinity pools which I'll post photo's off - we spent most of our time in and around the pools and they were just perfect - swimming in the blistering sun was just paradise! So lets talk about the restaurant. Now there is only 1 which was a slight concern for me at first, but this was totally misplaced concern - its a wonderful restaurant! Breakfast buffet was superb, with the wonderful Gregge making me omelettes everyday, recommending me places to visit on the island, and on 2 occasions going totally beyond the call of duty and giving us a breakfast to take back to the room when first myself and then my wife were too ill to make it to breakfast (mine was self inflicted haha!). Thank you friend it was a pleasure meeting you! Lunch also buffet style and changed everyday - from curries, meats, fish, pasta's, fried chicken, ribs, wings, stir fries, salads... I could go on forever! A wonderful variety and everything was top quality. They also did an afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes everyday from 4-5 which mostly wasn't needed after a buffet lunch but was very nice on the days I was being greedy! :) Dinner was a la carte with a different menu each evening. The food was absolutely exceptional, that's all I can say really. I've seen some reviews saying its a limited menu - yes ok it's a small choice each day but the food on offer was varied and beautiful. What I would say is, possibly this isn't the place for you if you're a picky eater or if you only like plain food, but I think that's more an issue of the individual than the restaurant - the food is not limited it is high end and constantly changing. During my time I had Chicken Cordon Bleu, Snapper, a burger, Gnocchi, Eggplant Parmigiana, Kingfish, and that's to name but a few. Wonderful food, and the service in the restaurant is very very good nothing too much trouble. So on to the bar. Now for me this is where Nonsuch REALLY stands out from anywhere I have been in the world. The bar is small, intimate (not crowded) and what that does is just throws all the guests together in the most wonderful way - it absolutely comes alive with people making friends from all over the world and gets everyone engaged and interacting together - its incredible! Centre stage are David and Everton and I'm struggling for the words to describe these guys. We spent 12 days just laughing ourselves to death with these two - and getting quite giddy on the numerous amazing drinks they made for us. I really cannot express how much these two guys made the holiday - I would happily travel back to Antigua just to see either one of them! Thanks to you both for creating such an amazing atmosphere and giving us such a wonderful time, genuinely hope to see you again soon. There are lot of others on staff that need a mention but sadly I'm struggling for names (the lady on the restaurant that usually books lunch and dinner was utterly fantastic) as was the young chef (Ali?) who we spoke to a lot. Overall just a wonderful trip and probably the first place I would ever revisit, just for the staff alone! They made such a fuss of us, especially on my birthday it really was amazing. Thank you all - we will see you again soon. Pete and Ffion Read less

Travelling with my toddler and my parents we chose a two bedroom suite which was very well furnished and catered. Having a full kitchen and washer dryer was invaluable for travelling with a toddler. The main highlight of the holiday was the staff, everyone was exceptionally welcoming and they were all excellent with the little one. I can definitely see myself coming back to this resort as it was one of the best I’ve stayed at in recent years. The added bonus of all inclusive sailing lessons was a huge perk, and really enjoyed learning to sail with Denise who is an excellent teacher. Read less

The staff are amazing, it’s our third visit and we love seeing the same friendly faces. All are very welcoming and accommodating. The food in the one restaurant is great. We came with a 2 year old who had a great time, all the staff are great with kids. But there have been cutbacks in several areas. I love the sailing but there were substantial cutbacks to staff (who were missed) and equipment. Only one out of two Hobies were working and that one had a ripped sail and a broken cleat. Only one of 6 Elites seemed to be working and they have got rid of some of the boat types e.g. the vision. Whereas before the trips to green island ( great snorkelling and beach) were complimentary on some days this has changed and now they charge on all days. Though because we had booked before they changed this we still benefited from the complimentary trips this time. We had issues with our apartment, the air con, toilet, jacuzzi and water and ice dispenser were not working when we arrived. They were all fixed promptly except for the last so we got free water. I do love this place so please Mr Owner invest in this again and make it the 5 stars it deserves. Read less

Each room has a plunge pool and a huge soaking tub on the balcony that overlooks a lovely view. You have to talk yourself out of spending your entire vacation out there. You also have an espresso machine in the room so your mornings having coffee while the sun rises are near perfect. They keep the rooms and facilities spotless. You can shuttle or walk to the connected resort and lay on the beach or take a boat over to Green Island to snorkel (our favorite excursion). The resort is also very close to Half Moon Bay. It's the perfect location. The standout of the Escape though is most certainly the staff. Avella goes above and beyond to make sure that you are enjoying yourself at all times and that's no exaggeration. She'll help you with everything from where to explore on the island to arranging a special meal to be made by their wonderful chef. We can't thank her enough for everything she did for us! Zoe was a gem too. We arrived around 11 PM after a long day of traveling and she made sure we had a delicious hot meal waiting for us. It was so appreciated! Keirah was so kind and helpful with booking the car. I'd go through and name every person at the resort since they were all so kind and accommodating. We can't say enough nice things about the Escape. Read less

Just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks at the Nonsuch Bay Resort. This was a family visit with an 18 month old child. The resort was super child friendly and all the staff made a fuss of little Lincoln, who loved the attention and learned how to high five. The 2 bedroom apartment we had was great, well furnished with superior appliances and ideal for our family group. We had a small problem with a bath plug which we reported at reception on our first day. By the time we had walked the hundred yards back to the apartment the maintenance crew had arrived to fix it! The room was well maintained during our stay, receiving daily cleans. The washing machine was particularly useful with the baby. The room enjoyed WiFi with 19mbps download speeds in the lounge area. We even had our own library of novels provided. The furnished veranda was simply massive. Green Island was fantastic and well worth the visit. We had complimentary visits on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Snorkeling was good with plenty of fish to see. I was a bit spooked by a Stingray but I guess I wasn't expecting him at the time. Snorkeling gear was provided and there was a cool box full of iced bottles of water on the beach. The resort beach was good and was constantly raked to keep it clear of seaweed which was washed ashore. Not a problem as some other reviews seem to suggest. There was a bar on the beach, which was very convenient. The water quality appeared good and I witnessed a chap catch a Tarpon of over 25lb using fly gear from the little breakwater on the beach. Complimentary beach towels were freely available. Food was very good and varied and the restaurant staff were excellent and very cheerful, helpful and friendly. We were offered drinks and refills as a matter of course. The bar staff were also very helpful and friendly. Everton and David certainly knew their stuff and suggested new drinks to try. The staff on reception were again very pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The resort watersports staff were great and by the time we left my Daughter was competent in handling one of the small sailing boats on her own. There were complimentary group lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which were fun. Kayaks were available whenever required. I was particularly impressed with the fact that they had decent Crewsaver lifejackets available for small children. The grounds in the resort were well maintained by the staff and the flowers were lovely. It was nice to see the Humming Birds and the Mongoose that darted around every now and then. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing break then I would certainly recommend Nonsuch Bay. Read less
