Wonderful staff; amazing food; great place to unwind and relax! Had no complaints. Breakfast and lunch buffet were delicious! Evening meal was excellent as well. I made known my shrimp allergy and had no problems. Beach was beautiful and we were served drinks on the beach without asking!

We spent a week as a family of 7 at Nonsuch Bay resort over New Year. Antigua is a beautiful island with amazing beaches and lovely people. We are already planning to go back. However this resort is not a good choice. Rooms are very spacious and could be great but are in urgent need of modernization with very old AC units, bathrooms from 1990s and furniture which should have been replaced many years ago. The beach is man-made, small and the sea is not suitable for swimming: very shallow, full of algae and jelly fish. The location of the resort is very remote, far from the more developed part of the island, marinas, shops, golf courses etc. It can work for some but didn’t do it for us as we like to discover different beaches, towns, go on boat trips and visit local restaurants. Also the resorts offers absolutely nothing to do for kids other than the beach and limited sailing. No tennis, ping-pong, sports or games of any kind. Our children were bored after 2 days. But the worse was the food: restaurant staff is lovely but the food is just terrible. It’s supposed to be an all inclusive resort but feels like a 3 stars full-board. Bad quality, little choice, limited amount of fresh fruit and vegetables, cheapest fish and meat cuts only. Nothing luxurious or nice about it. By the end of the week meals had become the worse part of our day... All in all, given the star rating and the price we paid, we were very disappointed. We expected luxury but ended up regretting our choice. Luckily we had a car and were able to discover beautiful Antigua. Read the reviews carefully before booking this resort. Read less

We have stayed in many all inclusive hotels in the Caribbean and found Nonsuch Bay to be unique in that it doesn't feel or act like a conventional hotel which is part of its charm. We stayed in a deluxe studio which was a fair way from the restaurant and bar but we enjoyed the walk and the fabulous sea view from our wrap around balcony. Rooms are cleaned to a high standard, are well equipped with far more space than a conventional hotel room. Beds were comfortable, aircon worked well and showers were powerful. We experienced one afternoon with no water due to a burst water main, staff delivered large bottles of water to all rooms affected and also gave us a complimentary late check out on our last day. We had no complaints regarding the food especially the evening meals which were 4 courses including a pasta or soup course as well as starter, main and dessert. It was so nice to be served authentic, imaginative Caribbean food, beautifully presented rather than the usual buffets. The restaurant had a very pleasant ambiance at night and service was excellent. You were asked to book a time for lunch and dinner when you arrived at breakfast, we never had any problems with this system. We prefer the beach to sitting at the pool and it is true there are better beaches in Antigua but we enjoyed the fact that there was plenty of shade, more than enough sunbeds and a very uncrowded laid back feel with lovely views. There was a small beach bar and drinks service both on the beach and around the pools although there was often quite a wait for drinks if you were poolside. We thoroughly enjoyed the trips to Green Island which were complimentary for BA guests and went 3 times. The boathouse staff were extremely courteous and helpful and the beach is stunning. I would recommend going on the morning trip as at 11am a large catamaran turns up full of tourists on a snorkelling trip! It was lovely to have 2 hours of peace on an idyllic island with just a few others. They leave water and ice for you but there are no toilet facilities. One area that could be improved is the bar and I would love to see more advantage taken of the stunning views. Currently the bar and reception area are as one and quite small, but there is an infinity pool next to the restaurant which is rarely used (although we went in it once to take some photos!) and has views to die for. This plus the seating area next to it would make a wonderful bar with amazing views!! We also thought the ambiance in the bar could be improved by playing some Caribbean music as this only happened occasionally. There was a good choice of cocktails, spirits and wine, the sparkling wine was excellent and there was no problem taking a bottle back to your room on request. All staff we met without exception were friendly, welcoming, hard working and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I rarely mention individuals but I would like to thank Michelle at reception, David in the bar and Schena in the restaurant, Andre and Filson for their excellent service and ALL the staff for helping to make our holiday so relaxing and enjoyable.
