As a Marriott Titanium member, I wanted to give this resort a try for a 1 night stay to see if I would ever want to stay here for a longer period. There were some positives to this property but also some pretty big negatives. Marriott needs to rethink the brand partnership unless they can improve in several key areas. I have to say that the checkin process was absolutely terrible and needs improvement. There is no separate line for Marriott Titanium rewards members. You have to stand at the regular front desk while checking in which is not the typical process at a resort checkin where you normally are seated, offered a welcome drink, and given an orientation or map of the property and what’s available during your stay. There is however a separate Rotalton Diamond checkin area and moving forward, I suggest that all Marriott Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador status guests should be allowed to check in there. We had absolutely NO idea which restaurants were included, what was not included, where anything was located, etc. etc. etc. Seisha from the front desk was very nice and tried to accommodate my requests after the rocky checkin. She also helped us get a dinner reservation at Haven which was appreciated. PROS: Our guest room was VERY CLEAN albeit a bit small, the shower was AMAZING with excellent water pressure from the rain shower, the AC worked well, the bed was comfortable and the room’s outdoor balcony seating area was nice. I really liked having a ceiling fan over the bed. We did not use anything from the room mini bar other than the bottled water but it was stocked with soda, beer, etc.. I noticed there was a bottle of wine and champagne in the room but we did not drink it. The common areas of the resort were very clean and nice and it was apparent that it was recently renovated. The beach looked nice. The water was pretty but we did not have time to swim. Dinner at Haven was pretty good. Service was good and we did not have to wait very long at all for anything. The Coffee and desert shop was really nice with gelatos, tea or coffee made by a smiling and friendly barista (forgot her name!). The Britt Gift shop was very nice with clothing, gifts, snacks and more. Seisha -front desk, Paulette- buffet restaurant and Sandra- public areas cleaning all made our stay better with their great service! NEGATIVES: Checkin process as mentioned above, and it seems to attract a “party” crowd or a different type of guest than what we are accustomed to at other Autograph collection resorts by Marriott. Overall, the pros were enough that I would consider giving this resort another try for a 2 or 3 day stay on a return trip to Antigua. Read less

Which we were not. This was our third Royalton, having got married in the St Lucian one which was fantastic. This hotel isn't really a patch on that. Which we were not. This was our third Royalton, having got married in the St Lucian one which was fantastic. This hotel isn't really a patch on that. We arrived late due to our flight, and there was a lack of welcome even though we were Diamond Club. Waited a while to get checked in, and had everything explained to us and were told we'd meet our butlers the next day. Met them and they were friendly enough and explained about booking the restaurants. We booked the Pescari for our first official night. Arrived at 8pm, we were seated and asked for drinks and waited an hour for them to arrive after reminding them we had ordered. Finally were told the food was slightly delayed (lol, slightly) and got our drinks and food. Think we were there for about 2 hours. Decent enough food but certainly not worth waiting for. Diamond Club pool area is rather small but there was plenty of space on the beach. Weekends get really busy with American/Canadian guests coming for a few days and they seemed to have a great time. There's not too much to do at the hotel other than drink and some bars would ignore you. The only bar we had good success at was Taboo. Estella is an absolute gem of a bartender, and treated us perfectly. So friendly and welcoming, and great to chat to. The slogan Party Your Way is pretty much party our way which is not too interesting. One pool party had a twerking competition, but at least several times a week there are foam parties which are fun. Other restaurants weren't too successful either. A couple of restaurants booked by our butlers were closed on the days we requested so we walked up to them to find they were closed. We were lucky to get into another one which our butler organised so not too bad. At another restaurant, we ordered the lobster tail for $60. Not a problem, but when looking at the bill it was $90 as they said it was a full lobster. I have no problem with the price but at least explain that! Most of the restaurants were so unorganised with delayed food with the exception of the buffet and Haven. Kevina was a brilliant waitress and the food was excellent there. The buffet staff rarely would ask if you wanted drinks so usually we'd grab a water and eat quickly. Also, what's the deal with not having mojitos? It's not the hardest drink to make but it was like I was asking for liquid gold. The best thing about this hotel is the cleanliness. Our rooms were always spotless, and the cleaners were always there at 9am. Whoever managers the cleaners should manage the restaurants because then this hotel would be amazing. If you go with Virgin, make sure you do the Pelican Safari with AP. He was an amazing guide and showed us some beautiful places.  One final disappointment was whenever you're celebrating at a Royalton, they make a fuss with a door banner, rose petals and a bottle of bubbly. They didn't really seem to care it was our anniversary even though when checking in they ask if you're celebrating something. Think this will be our last Royalton for a while which is disappointing as the St Lucian one is amazing. Also, the Royalton app is a nightmare which isn't their fault but it's rubbish. Read less

First of all let me start with the positives, the staff was wonderful, very pleasent. The food was horrible except for the sushi restaraunt which is only available to diamond club guests. No local seafood, the steakhouse had the thinest delmonico steak I have ever seen, no bigger then a Mc Donalds hamburger. No beach or pool service for drinks or food in an all inclusive resort for 5 of the 7 days we were there. 7000.00 dollars was a waste of money, Cabo Mexico is the place to go, service quality of food, bang for your buck. I spoke to about 6 couples that were just as dissatisfied as we were, and they all had the same complaint. Read less
