10-15minutes taxi from the airport set price $16US or $42 Caribbean dollars. $60 US to keep our room on for the day when we were leaving but changing facilities/showers etc are available free. Main currency is US dollars or Caribbean Dollars Smooth check in, remember this is a 3 star which is currently being upgraded and you will be fine. Gardens are lovely - colourful, well maintained. Room - we were in the old block Room 505 second floor. Rooms are tired but we had 2 double beds, shower, safe, clean, spacious. Newer rooms have phones/kettle/fridge which we did not but not a problem. Air conditioning went crazy for a few days but it was fixed so we were happy. Pool area - needs updating- broken tiles and pavers. Beach was excellent - plenty of loungers/ shaded areas/cleaned regularly Problem for many was when you entered the sea there was a deep ridge which was not easy to get out of. The beach itself is very long, beautiful. Bar area was good - Dalton and Heleen were amazing. Wari Pier -dining in the sea! A la Carte - delicious - prepare to wait for your meal and then you wont be disappointed. Main restaurant was on second floor - could not see any lift access. Lunch was at beach terrace- good choices/fresh Spacious, staff friendly especially Orlon, Denise, Bernadette thank you. Entertainment at night was mixed but the Steel Band, Winnie the singer, were excellent. WIFI was excellent even on the beach. Lots of things to buy from the beach vendors - but no hassle from them. We were 2 lone females and felt totally safe, make sure you take in some tours there are lots available catering for all types we chose Kareem from Salt Life Tours and he ensured we saw as much as possible and enjoyed ourselves to the max. Personally I cannot wait to return! Read less

We had a great time at this resort. The beach is beautiful and is great for long walks. Food was very good! Not a huge selection but what they had was great! Snack bar had great food as well. Resort is very tired. Rooms need work, but very clean. Our air conditioner didn’t work and was fixed after 3rd day. They could use new beach chairs. … Read more

There are also many options for tours of the entire island and I highly recommend you try one, it's very informative and exciting at once. Overall, I'd say this was the best value for my money spent and I urge anyone wishing to vacate in Antigua to stay at Starfish Halcyon Cove. Keep up the excellent work staff. Cheers to you all of you lovely people there. From Trinidadians who want to move to Antigua thanks to you guys! Read less

Just home after an enjoyable, relaxing three week stay to include our Golden Anniversary and my 70th birthday! Wonderful beach, wonderful staff with a special mention to "Uncle" Dave! His enthusiasm and laughter for the young and older holiday makers was a pleasure to witness! I especially enjoyed his water aerobics and his banter and encouragement to do better!! Food was delicious, special mention to the man on the egg station at breakfast...cool, calm and collected!! Lovely family atmosphere with the staff and guests alike. The bar staff work incredibly hard, so too the housekeepers and gardeners. Our room 253 was in a quiet block at the back. Initially the door lock, safe and TV needed attention but was seen to immediately!!! The bed was a huge, clean king size in a comfortable room and quiet air con. Agreed....The hotel is overdue a refurbishment and the sun loungers were not overly comfortable, the same for the seating in the reception area. But this did not detract from the lovely time we had and the lovely people we met there. Special mention for Kareem, the, courteous, man on the beach, who paired us up with a great couple for an island tour which he made sure was very enjoyable for us all. Catamaran trip around the Carribbean sea was also a very enjoyable day out! Entertainment was something for everyone and finished at a decent time (for us oldies) The beach is one of the best!! Beautiful!! After all Sandalls chose it for their location too!!!!!! Read less
