We were there with at least 14 others from the same plane, we all did not know that we would be at the same resort but we were, and what a great time we all had. A most friendly place with fantastic atmosphere. I would say great location, fantastic beach just footsteps away. We will be back to celebrate NYE with our new family in paradise. See you all soon. Went in June, start of low season; not too many visitors. The hotel, though clean, needs a lot of repairs/upgrades. Our room is spacious with a sitting area. The closet door is missing door knobs. The room has only 1 electrical outlet, UK plug type 220V. The TV and fridge run on a voltage converter. We request an extension cord but it never comes. So we use the fridge outlet for our cell phone, etc. There are 110V outlets in in public area. The beach is very nice and is not crowded. You can always get a beach 'palapas'. The water is calm and clear. The staff is very cordial and friendly. Low season means there is more trainees in the food services area. But they should be given guidance and instructions. The food is adequate with minimal variation. Low attendance means there is little entertainment in the evening. The WiFi is much better in public areas then in the Walmart. Read less

Having booked this hotel as a cheap package, we were a tad nervous about staying at the hotel as we’ve been used to higher rated hotels over the past few years, and let’s face it, some of the reviews on here for halcyon are terrible. However we were pleasantly surprised how good it actually is. Checking in wasn’t the best experience as we were not made to feel welcome by the lady who checked us in. She was clearly having a bad day. She was however in the minority as most of the staff are very pleasant, and we always felt acknowledged. Our room was spotlessly clean and air conditioned. Granted, very dated but I’m afraid I’m not in my room apart from sleeping so it was more than adequate. Food choice was a bit limited (especially being vegetarian) but we had lovely food every day. Absolutely nothing to complain about. My only complaint would have been that we booked a la carte on the pier only to turn up and the place was in darkness. We really should have had a note left in our room saying it had been cancelled. Another night we had what can only be described as pandemonium at dinner time as an American flight had been cancelled and the passengers spent the night at our hotel and the staff could not cope. If you’re looking for a party hotel, this won’t be for you. Evening entertainment is limited, the best of which were the steel band! This hotels stand out feature is the beach. Probably the best beach on the island and certainly on the best stretch of it. It’s worth walking right along the beach too. We did so everyday. Would I choose this hotel again? Absolutely! You definitely pay for what you get here. Major improvements would only push the price up so when you weigh it up, I know what I’d choose. Special shoutout to Derena & Roxanne in the restaurant! They were great. Read less

Though I did not get a chance to fully experience the hotel it was decent enough for an unforseen layover. The food was tasty and the staff was warm and friendly. The rooms were comfortable for just one night. The decor was less to be desired.

Stayed here recently. My A/C broke the first day. Another guy had no hot water and a broken A/C. The restaurant staff were very pushy and rude. The rooms are dirty, old and the electrical outlets looked like they were going to catch fire. would not stay here again
