We were lucky enough to have earned a 6 night stay with Aveda Pure Privilege, and we can’t wait to go back. Some of the highlights for us were the yoga, the infinity pool, the peace and privacy, and the beautiful grounds. When we were there it was pretty quiet which is exactly what we wanted. It was so relaxing. We split most days (after yoga in the morning) between the beach and the pool. Most of the time we had the infinity pool to ourselves. The view from up there is incredible and makes the hike up that much more rewarding. We actually enjoyed the challenge of getting around by foot up the steep stairs and hills, but it would be a negative if you have trouble getting around. And leave your high heels at home if you want to be able to walk around the resort. They do provide shuttles to get up and down the hills if you need them. Our room and balcony were very nice and clean and we each enjoyed massages in the Aveda spa. We did not opt for the all inclusive option but met others that did and they said it was great. Our stay included breakfast and we had lunch either at the beach restaurants or at the resort by the main pool. We took cans into Jolly Harbour for most dinners which were all very good as was Carmichaels and the special 2 for 1 at the Sugar Club. We walked to dinner one night at Big Head Lobster and that was a really fun little place with excellent drinks and food. It’s also an easy walk to a well stocked grocery store for supplies and they even had a hot takeaway counter that you could grab an easy meal from. There’s a liquor store within the grocery too. Special shout out to Carlene at Sugar Ridge for her warm, friendly service in the restaurant and poolside. Everyone was very nice but she was a standout. A couple of small suggestions for the resort that would make the stay even more perfect: the yoga studio should have wipes or something to clean the mats, more than 2 small bottles of water could be provided to guests - to reduce on plastic you could place an ice water jug in the lobby or by the pool that guests can use to refill their bottles, and the snails! I don’t know if there is such thing as snail season, but if there is, it’s was while we were there. They were everywhere. We didn’t mind the snails themselves, it was the gross aftermath of seeing them smashed all over the place from either being stepped on or driven over. Maybe sweeping them or spraying away with a hose in the morning could help? These are all very minor things that didn’t impact our stay overall but worth mentioning—just some honest feedback because we loved the place so much. We loved it and we will be back! Read less

Second year in a row, birthday/anniversary getaway, 4 night 5 day trip where we eat great meals, are welcomed by attentive, friendly staff and treated like royalty with the best accommodations, care and concern. The Aveda Spa on premises has really experienced staff as well and we always feel in great hands and well taken care of by them. Shirley Heights was a must do on Sunday Night and in general all beaches in Jolly Harbour were exceptional. Highly recommend Antigua and especially Sugar Ridge. Read less

I stayed with family who had a villa here. Every day I joined for yoga at The Shed. This is a beautiful structure, with polished mahogany floors, open sides with spectacular views to the jungle and the ocean. There are three yoga teachers who were all excellent but very different: the yoga is quite traditional based on sun salutations. Clemmy - plays yoga music, guides you through breathing. She is actually starting her own class just on breathing from Monday which sounds fantastic. She will sometimes give forehead smoothing with some lovely essential oils Lynn - good step by step instructions, I enjoyed doing pigeon in this class. South African Ros - the most spiritual yoga teacher: also will roam the class and help with positioning to get that little bit extra stretch if she sees you out of position, which i personally like a lot. I think her classes tend to last one hour 15 mins. She is able to give all the Indian names for all the yoga moves. We will hopefully be back next October to do this again as for me this was one of many highlights of this trip. Read less
