We didn’t care for the Seafood and Japanese restaurants however, I want to give a shout out to Michael who was our waiter at the Seafood restaurant. Pleasant and super efficient, he was one of the best we had throughout our vacation. Also, the bartender at the Mexican restaurant was great fun and his margarita’s amazing! We enjoyed the entertainment at the Lobby Bar, rooms were clean and the housekeepers accommodating and pleasant. The J.E. Irausquin Boulevard with bars, restaurants and stores are conveniently located right in-front of the hotel. With both the beach area and the pool area, you have to get up very early in the morning to reserve shade. Also, on Saturday nights extremely loud music blares from the other hotels until 3:00AM and during the week the Barcelo has very loud music playing in the pool area until 12:00AM. (These issues are probably the most unfortunate aspect of staying at this facility.) It’s not the Hilton but overall, as a reasonably priced, all-inclusive resort on Palm-Eagle Beach, and knowing its concerns, I recommend it. Read less

Very accommodating. Natashia and staff were wonderful. They assisted me due to the fact I was in a wheel chair for a broken foot. Rodell and Mariagrita (spelling wrong) greeted me daily. See you soon.

Beach palapas is a real problem situation and very aggravating. Guests go in the middle of the night to claim their spot. At 5:30 in the morning there are 1 or 2 left out of 80. Food is mediocre and drinks watered down. Buy liquor at the airport (or pay double at the local store) and take your own luggage to your room.

So many exceptional staff that it is hard to name just one: Marolyn, Belinda, & Ivette in the First Club are fantastic; Bellmen Roland & Keti are always the first to welcome us "home"; Zotina, Claudia, Rodell, Patty, and Ruthmila in the Palm restaurant are wonderful. Eugene does a fantastic job making sure that everything runs smoothly. He is so friendly and accommodating; remembers us every year and makes us feel welcomed. Everyone is so warm and welcoming and they all make us feel like we're coming back home year after year. This is a wonderful resort, well within walking distance of many great restaurants and shopping opportunities. Read less

I normally do not post on “bad experiences” but feel the need to. We booked Barceló Aruba without any research or reviews after an amazing experience at the Grand Hyatt Aruba a few years back, yes you could argue a fault of our own! From the lack of customer service across the resort, multiple staff telling me that that they will lose their jobs if they do not follow procedures, to house cleaning not taking trash or replacing towels on the floor. This is just an example of why we will never return to the hotel. After talking with the hotel manager (by the way not looking for anything in return for the feedback) there was very little recognition, again a clear sense of a hotel that would be much better suited to being a 3rd grade cruise liner, with few passengers. Their is a consistent range of inconsistencies across their staff ranging from not wearing shoes in the lobby, to where you can and can’t sit for breakfast for lunch depending on the staff member. Yes apparently the “rules” are not shared with customers, just the people working, so please be careful! That said, there were a few staff on the beach that were amazing, and actually seemed to care and interested to make a difference. I share this after 3 days of a week holiday, and we are ready to leave the hotel (after paying) and move into a hotel reputable for actually making a holiday an experience! Read less
