Bucuti & Tara

Aruba, Caribbean

The hotel

One of Aruba’s most romantic retreats, the adults-only Bucuti & Tara simply exudes peace and tranquillity. Overlooking one of the few ‘Dream Beaches of the World’, powder soft sands and crystal clear waters are yours for the taking; warm trade winds gently brushing against your skin as you soak up the sun. Far from the madding crowds, it is nonetheless a short taxi ride from civilisation should you fancy a night out. We bet though you’ll be hard pushed to venture much further than the ocean’s edge. World-class facilities on-site include a gorgeous salt-water infinity pool to splash about in and the Day Spa, an absolute must-visit. Water sports are always on the agenda, or enjoy tropical views as you sweat it out in the 24/7 fitness centre. A complimentary American buffet breakfast kick-starts each day nicely, eaten al-fresco on the oceanfront deck. Lunch and dinner are also served at Elements Restaurant, showcasing world cuisine with the finest of ingredients. Beforehand, let the expert bartenders at Sandbar mix you a tropical cocktail. Happy Hour is daily from 4:00pm-6:00pm and there’s live steel band music too to get you in the mood for a good night ahead. Make sure to reserve a table at Carte Blanch (well in advance!) for a dining experience that’s as exclusive as it’s unforgettable.

All the years coming here never saw this type of things. We come here because of adults looking for a quiet, beautiful, intimate and peaceful environment. Hopefully things like this won't be happing again when we come again next year. Read less

I am one who read most of these ratings and the other reviews and I can tell you it lived up to the excellent feedback. Arrived home yesterday from our 1st trip to Aruba and our experience at Bucuti & Tara was amazing. This resort gets everything right and it's their attention to detail that shines...rooms designed for ultimate comfort and utility, staff that goes above and beyond in service and friendliness, a beautiful beach/restaurant/bar/pool set up, great food and on and on. We knew the place was special when just about everyone we met were multiple-time returnees. Then we found out why. We had a 1st floor Deluxe room that had everything we could need. Loved the iPad, great metal drinking mugs that kept drinks on ice for hours, a great mattress, the bathroom set up, the air filter, the lighting choices and all the Aruba Aloe bath products. We had to cancel an early planned excursion on Wednesday because of was not feeling well and Maryann offered to have coffee, tea and/or some food sent to my room which I thought was lovely. Quick and delicious food and bar service on the beach. Loved the vegan choices at breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day and a shout out to Nancy for her stuffed omelettes made with a smile. Thought the 5 pm iPad beach chair reservation system was pretty flawless, not that we required a front row set up anyway. My favorite part of the day at Bucuti was the evening sitting on one of the beach sofas with the cool breeze, wonderful soft lighting and sound of the ocean and steel drums...it was heaven, and will be in my thoughts as a highlight of my trip until our return next year, which we made sure to book before we left.
