The hotel

It takes something pretty special to make a beach hotel stand out from the Caribbean crowd – but Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort does just that. It’s not just bagged a spot near Aruba’s famous Eagle Beach, sharing a nearby stretch of sand with its sister hotels; it’s also embraced by the lush fairways of The Links at Divi Aruba, a nine hole golf course accompanied by a luxury clubhouse with two stunning dining venues, a Pro Shop, and a golf school. It has all the classic Caribbean trimmings, like its four freshwater pools, sumptuous spa, water sports, and children’s club, but it also throws in extra flourishes just for fun – like a 30 foot high rock climbing tower that rises from the beach, complimentary travel to Alhambra Casino, and movie nights.

We stayed at the Divi Golf and had a beautiful studio condo overlooking the pools and swim-up bar (facing the ocean). Our condo had a private hot-tub on the roof. We came here for 9 nights and got a decent price I thought for Aruba. Now I know why it was fairly cheap. Our room is old and needs upgrading. It’s amazing how professional photographers and wide angle lenses can make a place look big and awesome. It’s amazing how professional photographers and wide angle lenses can make a place look big and awesome. We walked in and it had a smell that did eventually go away but our first impression was not good. Shower is good, bed is comfortable too. Location is decent but we rented a car so unless you want to stay in the low rise area and have limited choices, you may want to rent a car to get around. All the action is in the high rise area so you either need a cab or a car. The Divi has 3 pools that were all nice. It also has a few places to eat and drink that we heard from friends we made at the beach and pool that said were good. Fitness center is across the street and was good too. The beach is just across the street and was very nice indeed. All this place needs is to be remodeled and it would get at least 4 stars from me anyway. Read less

This was our second trip to Aruba and staying at the Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort. We chose to stay at the Divi Village Golf because our kids who are 9 and 10 loved the water slide and the beach is great even though it is across the street. We chose the all inclusive option. We love the location and resort which is why we came back a second time. This time unfortunately we did not have the same seamless check in experience as we did on our first stay. We arrived before the official check in time but took care of the paperwork and were given a pager to let us know when our room would be ready. While I was checking in I confirmed that we booked the one bedroom suite (we made our reservations through Expedia). I requested a second floor suite because they have a private hot tub on the third floor. Unfortunately the person checking us in said that a second floor unit was not available. We were disappointed but it was not the end of the world. We were allowed to have our baggage stored and use the pool and have lunch while we waited for the room to be ready. When the pager went off I went to the front desk and got the room information, luggage and hopped on a shuttle to the room. When I arrived at the room I went in and found that it was a studio suite not the one bedroom suite as requested. I was a bit cranky from a long day of traveling and called the front desk to let them know this was not what I had booked. I went to the front desk and the were quick to correct the problem. They put us in a one bedroom suite but it was on a first floor. When we initially checked in I asked to be notified if a second floor suite should become available. Sure enough as soon as we unpacked the phone rang to let us know that a second floor suite opened up so I had our family pack up and we moved to the other unit. We got to move because a couple that booked a one room bedroom suite was not able to climb stairs because one of them recently had surgery. The unit was in the very end of the property which was a bit of a hike to the beach etc but we could call ahead and get a pick up even though they were a bit slow to come sometime. We loved eating at mulligans the food and staff is always awesome! We would definitely stay at the Divi golf again since the Divi all inclusive and tamarin don’t have one bedroom suites. I just hope out check in experience will be smoother next time! Read less
