Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort

Aruba, Caribbean

The hotel

It takes something pretty special to make a beach hotel stand out from the Caribbean crowd – but Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort does just that. It’s not just bagged a spot near Aruba’s famous Eagle Beach, sharing a nearby stretch of sand with its sister hotels; it’s also embraced by the lush fairways of The Links at Divi Aruba, a nine hole golf course accompanied by a luxury clubhouse with two stunning dining venues, a Pro Shop, and a golf school. It has all the classic Caribbean trimmings, like its four freshwater pools, sumptuous spa, water sports, and children’s club, but it also throws in extra flourishes just for fun – like a 30 foot high rock climbing tower that rises from the beach, complimentary travel to Alhambra Casino, and movie nights.

Okay I stayed at this resort solely because we got an all inclusive package for a good deal. Check in fast an efficient golf cart to room which was a so called villa. Room as expected from the pictures, needs sprucing up new furniture and bathroom cabinetry would help. Housekeeping came every day. Towels and wash cloths poor quality thin cloths and towels left cotton on body. Toiletries were provided bring your own water for drinking full fridge but empty. Mulligans has best drinks of all three resorts we had access to. Reservations required but not a hassle we ate at Tamarijn and Divi Aruba for dinners and for entertainment at night. Beach across the street basic loungers but beach is rocky bring water shoes took me a day to decide to go in feet couldn’t take the rocks. Only issues were shuttles usually not available we did a lot of walking hubby was not happy. WiFi didn’t work in room an other areas of the resort. I would only stay here again if I got a good deal on all inclusive. Prices for food and drinks expensive. Read less

However, it was very functional. We had a one bedroom with 1.5 baths and balcony accessible from living room and bedroom. There was a full kitchen for cooking in. We ate at the golf course. Food was okay and service was slow. The resort is about 20 minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes from the famous California Lighthouse. Given the options in the area and if you are looking for luxury accommodations, there are better choices. Read less

Disappointed that the units in Divi Village have not been updated. We paid double maintenance fees which we were told was for upgrade to units and it has not been done. Units 5501 and 5502 were old and showed wear and were musty smelling - very disappointing especially since we brought family. Asked to be moved and was told we could not be… Read more

Loved this place, rooms were nice, pools were great. Close to the beach and other resorts. I recommend doing all inclusive bc the food was good and unlimited drinks.😂 The wifi was subpar but who cares, you are vacation. The only thing I wish they did was clean the pool chairs more often but other than that everything was great

Better than 3 stars.. 3.6 - that’s the score I would give Divi Golf Resort after a week’s stay in Aruba. We arrived to the lobby on a Saturday afternoon and quickly got checked into our one bedroom suite with kitchenette. It was fine, but not great. Part of the problem was our room was right outside a noisy pool with the popular kids slide on the ground floor. I would say the issue was more with the loud and sometimes rude guests staying near us. The first 2 nights, I got no sleep as the people above us came to their room at 2am and apparently needed to move the furniture around. The next night an older gentleman was having a loud chat with three ladies right outside our patio door at midnight- I peeked out in the hopes he would see my face which clearly said, “Dude, call it a night already” but he was too busy telling some ridiculous story that they were interested in for some reason. The negative for me was the mattress which did a number on my back (something others on this site warned of) most of the week I slept on the couch which had more support. Some people on this site complained of the staff not being friendly- I don’t think that’s true at all. Our experience was very good. They were friendly saying hello - and let’s be real - they are working in hot conditions all day with a lot of all- inclusive guests, many who are over-served. From shuttle drivers to restaurant employees - our experience was good. My husband was not a huge fan of the golf course mainly because if you’ve been to Aruba before you know - it’s really too windy for golf. Saved the best for last. The Windows on Aruba restaurant is delicious. We celebrated our anniversary and the very kind staff took time to write us a note and decorate a dessert in our honor. My sea bass and my husband’s lobster were both incredible! Finally - the first time we stayed in Aruba we stayed at palm beach with all the high rise hotels. That’s a very nice area and I would stay there again ( this hotel is closer to the downtown area) but those hotels are close together and the beach is crowded with people. While our Divi beach was across the street - it’s gorgeous and quiet. No blaring music and loud beach goers instead it became a comforting place to read a book and relax without interruption - we took water shoes as some on this site said it was a little rocky- it’s really not rocky just a few shells but if you take some slip on water shoes it’s no problem at all. The beach bar is really fun and the bartenders are great! The fitness center that overlooks the ocean is really nice too. If the mattress issue was fixed I would stay there again. We also ate at Giannis - get the cheese wheel pasta (yum!) and Papiamento one of our favorite places! It’s an awesome atmosphere and delicious. Read less
