Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort and Casino

Aruba, Caribbean

The hotel

Set amidst breathtaking scenery, this luxurious beachfront hotel offers the ultimate in relaxation. Spanish-style architecture, lush gardens and cascading waterfalls are as delightful as the crystal clear seas it is set by and the accommodation is modern, airy and well equipped with all mod cons. For those who like to keep active, you’re in for a treat. There’s a three-level pool to splash about in, water sports galore down on the beach and an incredible programme of daily entertainment to take advantage of, including sunset sails, pool volleyball and shuffleboard contests. No worries if relaxation is more your style, grab a lounger and laze the day away or head to ZoiA Spa for some well-deserved pampering — we can recommend the White Lily After-Sun Wrap! When you’re feeling peckish, you’ve a choice of restaurants to choose from. Dine amongst floating swans at Ruinas del Mar, serving contemporary cuisine in a rustic recreation of seaside ruins or indulge in island-fresh dishes at Palms. For tequila and regional dishes, head to Mexicado or admire the best sunsets in town at Piet’s Pier Bar. For something a little more sophisticated, dig out your finest attire and head to the Hyatt Casino. After all, a little flirting with Lady Luck never goes amiss!

The drinks are very expensive!! Happy hour should start earlier then 4:30. You can walk down the beach and find one at 12:00 and save money. Hyatt should want to keep all the business by doing more to do so. 2 chic tenders/ 1 nacho / 2 virgin mudslides and 2 pina coladas $135 for lunch. That’s a little much

So many meticulously maintained bushes and flowers and trees are incorporated into the layout of the property coupled with retail and sales being more out of the way, gives this hotel a much more inviting feel than others on the island

First time at the Hyatt. Loved the pool, beach, etc.. Hotel staff was amazing. Only negative is the lack of full balconies there. Also all the wildlife there was a bonus along with the various parrots. Especially loved taking Chi Chi!

Pros • Clean and beautiful resort and rooms. Definitely the nicest of the row of nearby hotels • Turn down service is a huge added bonus. Having your room made up twice ( when you have kids) is such a treat. Plus the chocolates on your pillow are a nice touch • The beach bar has discounted drinks from 5:30-6:30 every night. We waited all day to drink at this bar at 5:30 as it means your glass of wine goes from $13 to $5.25! Cons • The prices for food that is mediocre at best is outrageous. $18 for two eggs and toast for breakfast is a joke. Walk down the beach 3 minutes to Scott’s Bratts for breakfast. After planning on eating multiple meals at the resort, we visited almost everyone and changed our minds after seeing the prices and looks of the dishes. • The young woman at the conceriege desk was rude during both interactions with us. She barely looked up from her computer and seemed annoyed to answer the most simple questions ie. ‘what direction is the pirate cruise?’. • After reading how important ‘reserving’ beach huts and pool umbrellas were, we did it well in advance. It helped on the beach but the pool was a huge waste of money and unnecessary. Everyone just finds chairs and puts their stuff down wondering if it’s reserved or not. By 10am, there were plenty of open chairs and umbrellas. ( maybe we happened to be there at a slow time). Read less
