The staff was very welcoming at the front desk. Pool area is great and they have a very nice beach area as well. Food was very average, bartenders told me they ran out of whiskey at one point and also the wait staff that bring drinks to you would rarely touch base with you. They were renovating some of the outdoor balconies and had erected some large scaffolding. Rooms need some updating as it appears the decor has not been changed in years, walls are very thin (can hear the people next door) and hallways looked a little dirty and in need of some freshening up. Overall, if you just want an all inclusive and are not looking at something high end, this may be your place if you are on a budget. Read less

The resort has stunning beaches & nice rooms with great views. But, the bad news is the quality of some of the food, and some of the employee's customer service is questionable, but they are working to correct both, so there is a lot of hope. Let me give a few shout outs to members of the staff of the resort who were just wonderful! In no particular order is Melinda, from the Level beach, Sasha from Estavida , Michelle from Housekeeping, and Shanishka from The Market. They were great!. The restaurants have some very good dishes, but they need more! While the food goes from not fair to good the good news is that they have a new head of food services who has a vision and the leadership to improve the food. Is the Level section worth it, Yes, if you can afford it, A bit annoying is that there are "petty charges” that are on top of the Level costs. Such as if want to order a bottle of wine in your room, they will charge you extra for the bottle. But, you can order 4 glasses of the same wine with no charge. The Melia Nassau Beach (MNB) has a management staff that is in the middle of transforming the resort to be a top one! Is it there yet? No, but the future is bright. If you go and there are things you find wrong, bring it up there when they have the chance to correct the matter. Don’t scream just bring up your point whoever needs to know. And, if they can’t help you, ask to speak to a supervisor! You might just have as a great time as our family had. Thank you MNB. Read less

I read a lot of reviews before booking ( and still don't understand how people can say that the staff is rude. I read a lot of reviews before booking ( and still don't understand how people can say that the staff is rude. They probably don't smile, so they can't receive a smile back) and I decided to go for the LEVEL. Best decision ever. The private beach of the Level is the only way to really enjoy peace, quiet and nice time. I personally could never stand the crowd of the rest of the beach (including the famous Baha Mar - few steps from the Melia) or the packed swimming pool with constant music. The service at the Level is super worth it. The private lounge with dedicated check in is just the perfect way to start a vacation. We met Danesha when we arrived and she was over the top kind and welcoming. She even showed me other rooms I was curious to see... I have a theory regarding all the hotels in the world; you get what you pay for. The deal at the Melia is very good, therefore you can't expect to have a 5 star service. The food is not good - honestly - there is no way someone can say that it's good. But whatever, the breakfast overlooking the ocean (only for the Level guests) is worth it even if everything is flavorless. We had a nice time, met nice people, enjoyed our ocean view for 4 days. I wouldn't probably return, but I recommend the Melia if you want a short getaway and you don't want to spend a fortune. Read less
