The Beach at Atlantis

Bahamas, Caribbean

The hotel

Travellers flock to the Bahamas for two things – the beauty of its beaches and the attractions of Atlantis – and, as its name implies, The Beach at Atlantis delivers both. Anchored to Atlantis Beach, it’s claimed one of the best sand-side spots at this Bahamian mega-resort. The casual-coastal hotel frames the pool, where water cascades over boulders, palm trees burst from the sun terrace, and sea views stretch out as you swim. Staying at The Beach also gives you the key to Atlantis’s world-famous features, like its marine lagoons, 141-acre Aquaventure water park, and 40 bars and restaurants – with Casual, Gourmet, and Premium dining plans to pick from.

Amazing. Each and every time. I just don’t understand the negative reviews. Come on people, you’re on Paradise Island! It’s gorgeous! Yes, the Beach Hotel is the furthest away at the Atlantis from the “action”. If you don’t like to walk then don’t book here. Yes, you do have to check in/out in the Coral and then WALK to the Beach (indoor hallway if you wish). Again, if you don’t like walking then don’t stay at the Beach! We love to walk. And we love the scenery on those walks. Newsflash.... the Atlantis is a large resort. You’re going to walk no matter where you stay. It’s an older building. It’s not going to be the Ritz! It’s the least expensive hotel with the least amount of frills. However, if you’re like us and only spend time in the room to shower and sleep then you’ll give it 5 stars. The rooms are clean, well furnished. Yes, some rooms overlook the roof. If you don’t want to look at it then book a water/ resort view. I don’t quite understand the negative reviews. It’s a 3 star hotel. Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Clean throughout. Again, you’re in a paradise! If you want a more luxurious room then book the Reef! We go to atlantis for the ENTIRE resort. The water park, the pools, the beaches, the marine life. We don’t go to gamble and we aren’t foodies. We could care less what we eat. You won’t catch us a Nobu or anything like that. We come to have an amazing time at a gorgeous resort. The Beach offers basic food choices but again, you’re part of the ENTIRE Atlantis resort so you can choose anywhere you want to eat. If you’re like us, you’re going to LOVE the Beach resort. This was our 3rd trip and we will most definitely return.... and stay at the Beach! Read less

Let me preface my comments by the fact that I have stayed at the Atlantis resort on 6 different occasions. This will definitely be my last. Upon arriving we tried to check in at the coral towers because usually three is minimal agents at the beach. They sent me to the Beach Tower to check in despite there being no line at the coral towers for check in. I waited approximately 20 minutes to check in. I was told my room would not be ready for two hours. I asked for a bellhop and they told me I would have to walk back to the coral towers as they did not have one at the beach towers. During my stay I had a coupon for 30% off three spa treatments that was not applied correctly. One day I was locked out of the room and was told I had to wait in the hallway until security came and took numerous trips up and down the elevator to the front desk before security finally after two hours came to open my room. I have no idea why I actually had to stay at the room for them to let me in and why I could not just be issued new keys. Despite having two rooms only one bathtub drained properly the entire visit. Despite calling on two occasions the drain in the bathtub never worked. I could elaborate further but all I could surmise is that they are under new management or are currently up for sale. Good luck if you book here as you have been warned. Never Again Read less

I was nervous with all the negative comments. However, Atlantis Beach Tower has a great deal and let’s be honest, how much time is spent into the room? This is my 3rd time to the Bahamas but never stayed at Atlantis. I had a day pass in 2007 for the waterpark and stayed in Baja Mar in May. With it being my mother and son’s first time I decided to stay at Atlantis because there is so much to do and enjoy!! From the moment we landed we were welcomed so warmly. Everyone is so pleasant and nice. We checked in at the Coral (Majestic does not drop off at the beach) they gave us water vouchers upon arrival. There is a shuttle bus that takes you all around the property. The waterpark is my favorite part of the resort. The Aquarium is pretty cool and don’t forget to check out the Dig. Also the Abyss (Favorite ride) drops you off in an underground cave. It’s a must do and see!! We did leave the resort for one night and went to Fish Fry. You must order the conch fritters. It’s my favorite thing every time I’m in the Bahamas. I got a taxi driver who took me everywhere (even the liquor store) to downtown Nassau and Fish fry. His name is Durant. +1 (242) 455-3623 Very reliable! The food at the resort is pretty pricey, but we are from NY so it was expected. The portions are large you can even share. I can’t wait to go back. Read less

It is absolutely breath taking, water crystal clear and calm. It’s not part of the resort so you get a lot of locals trying to sell you things and are very insistent but all in all it’s worth visiting

We have been coming to Atlantis for 15 years. This visit was, by far, better than any of the other visits. The property operations seem smoother and more consistent. Our room service provider, Barbara, (on the fourth floor beech tower) was just amazing. We checked in on August 19 and checked out on September 2 and she took such great care of us. Always a friendly smile, she knew our schedule and she immediately cleaned our room as we left for the pool. Her sunny personality started our day off on the perfect note. Also, Shirley attends it to the hallway at the library area and we look forward to seeing her each year. She always a huge smile and that wonderful purple lipstick! The Point is the best sunset location and the lazy river is always the place to chill & cool off. The sound level (not the genre of music) at the Coral Pool prevented us from staying- I know it has a younger vibe but being the only “resort guest” only pool, the volume could be moderated a little better. No style of music or DJ needs to be that loud. The DJ was talented in his mixes. Thank you Barbara & Shirley. See you next year. Read less
