The hotel

Beach View Hotel enjoys a prime location on Barbados' famed West Coast. Set on 5-acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, it also overlooks a stunning bay and is just a short drive from Holetown, the second largest town on the island, with its ultra chic restaurants, casual beach diners, great shopping and lively nightlife. Where is it

Across the road from Paynes Bay Beach in St James, this hotel’s within walking distance of water sports, restaurants, a mini-market, the Paynes Bay Fish Market, and a snorkelling spot to swim with turtles. It’s just five minutes’ drive from Holetown, with its restaurants, supermarkets, nightlife, and shopping including the Limegrove shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Bridgetown. Nearby golf courses include Sandy Lane, five minutes’ drive away, Royal Westmoreland and Apes Hill, each 15 minutes’ drive away, and the Barbados Golf Club, 35 minutes’ drive away. Transfer time from airport: 40 minutes.

36 Classic Suites in 4 buildings on 3 floors, each building has a lift. Air-conditioning, cable TV, WiFi, iPod docking station, telephone, full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, full oven, four burner hob, fridge with freezer and ice maker, coffee maker, and washing machine and dryer, laptop safe, hairdryer, iron and board, and beach towels. Baby cots* available on request. Some apartments have a private patio.  

10 Villas and 9 Luxury Suites, with open-plan living and dining areas, air-conditioning, cable TV, WiFi, iPod docking station, telephone, full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, full oven, four burner hob, fridge with freezer and ice maker, coffee maker, and washing machine and dryer, laptop safe, hairdryer, iron and board, and beach towels. Baby cots* available on request & extra charge.  

1-Bedroom Classic Suites are 1,000 sq. ft. with both a shower and bath in the separate bathroom and have 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Breakfast option: includes a continental, à la carte breakfast. 

2-Bedroom Classic Suites are 1,372 sq. ft. feature a shower and bath in the master bathroom; shower only in 2nd bathroom and have 1 king-size bed and 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

3-Bedroom Classic Suites are 1,817 sq. ft. feature a shower and bath in the master bathroom; shower only in 2nd bathroom and have 2 king-size beds and 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 6 adults or 2 adults and 4 children.

One Bedroom Luxury Suites are 1,000 sq ft featuring living and dining area with terrace or balcony, fully equipped kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Each has 1 king-size bed and ensuite bathroom. sleeping maximum 2 adults. Shower only.

Two Bedroom Villas are 1,500 sq ft spread over 2 levels. On the ground floor there is a living and dining area with terrace, fully equipped kitchen and washing machine and dryer. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with king-size bed or 2 twin beds and ensuite bathroom and the other with either 1 king-size or 2 twin beds and ensuite bathroom, sleeping maximum 4 adults. Showers only.

On the ground floor there is a living and dining area with terrace, powder room, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer and master bedroom with 1 king-size bed, ensuite bathroom and private terrace. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with either 1 king-size bed or 2 twin beds and ensuite bathroom and the other with either 1 king-size or 2 twin beds and ensuite bathroom, sleeping maximum 6 adults. Showers only.

Three Bedroom Luxury Suites are 2,100 sq ft with living and dining area with terrace or balcony, fully equipped kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Master bedroom with private terrace, ensuite bathroom and 1 king-size bed, second bedroom with ensuite bathroom and 1 king-size bed, and third bedroom with ensuite bathroom and either 1 king-size bed or 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 6 adults. Sugar Apple Restaurant serving breakfast lunch & dinner with weekend specials and frozen takeaway meals). The Hut (coffee shop and snack bar). Grocery stocking service* (grocery starter pack*, deluxe grocery pack*, or wine and cheese plate*). Gourmet frozen takeaway food* (available from The Hut).

Sugar Apple bar open nightly with Happy Hour on Wednesdays & Fridays. Seasonal themed nights available, e.g. Caribbean buffet on Monday nights. 

4 swimming pools (outdoor lagoon pool with beach entry, separate children's pool and 2 infinity salt water pools). Salon & Spa*. In-room massages*. Gym. Aquacise classes* (Mondays and Thursdays). A Tourism Fee will be charged per bedroom, per night and will be collected at check out. The rate is subject to change by the Government, and varies by hotel room. Fees currently range from 8.75 Barbadian dollar (approximately £3.90) to 35 Barbadian dollar​ (approximately £16.00) per bedroom, per night.

One of our favourite places to stay as a family. Understated, perfect location, family operated small boutique self catering accommodation. Pool is nice and the beach is a heaven. One of our favourite places to stay as a family. Understated, perfect location, family operated small boutique self catering accommodation. Pool is nice and the beach is a heaven. We stayed at a 3 bedroom unit with kitchen, living room and parking. I cannot rate higher on this gem. Staff are super friendly and the gentleman who runs (?) this place is very kind. My husband slipped his ankle on the beach due to high waves and had his leg swollen. They brought a wheelchair straight away and made sure they were all fine. The rooms are super spacious and clean. The property is well maintained and there is also a fitness centre which was so handy for me to burn all that fat from lovely food in Barbados :-) We would definitely come back here. Read less

I couldn’t fault the Beach View Hotel! The apartment/suite, the Sugar Apple Cafe/restaurant, the gardens and pool areas were all excellent! All the staff were polite and friendly, especially important for a ‘mature’ solo traveller. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!!

Bus stops right outside the hotel very handy and reliable if you want to save a good few quid on taxis. The Sugar Apple restaurant served up good quality Breakfast, Lunch and evening meals. The hotel was only a few minutes walk from several local restaurants and a short taxi or bus ride from Hole Town. We loved Beach View. Some old world charm about the place, just what we wanted. Not too busy and a good location to explore the West side of the island. We'll be back.
